Why do I have to be a friend or a foe? I have a Mac, which I really love, it's reliable and easy to use, and for someone like me who doesn't really know his way around computers well enough to "build a computer with equal processing power for half the price," it's the best computer I can get for the money. For now at least, the Mac is safer from viruses, and I have never had a single problem with mine. It's a solid machine that I don't have to worry about having shit on me.
But just because I like the product, doesn't mean I have to be a friend. Does Apple have some less than wonderful business practices? Absolutely. But I don't think there are a lot of large corporations which don't. I'm sure Microsoft has an equally terrible business practice for every one Apple has. They're all run by a group of individuals who tend to run in the same circle, and statistically speaking, a high percentage of those individuals are sociopaths, so it's kind of to be expected.
If you're going to make me choose one, I'll go with friend, since I'm certainly not a foe, but this kind of divisive nonsense doesn't serve a real purpose anyways, and the honest truth is that I'm neither.
