Fob.

I actually don't care. The one time I was planning to get an iPod, I received a third-party MP3 player that I love as a gift.

Why do I have to be a friend or a foe? I have a Mac, which I really love, it's reliable and easy to use, and for someone like me who doesn't really know his way around computers well enough to "build a computer with equal processing power for half the price," it's the best computer I can get for the money. For now at least, the Mac is safer from viruses, and I have never had a single problem with mine. It's a solid machine that I don't have to worry about having shit on me.

But just because I like the product, doesn't mean I have to be a friend. Does Apple have some less than wonderful business practices? Absolutely. But I don't think there are a lot of large corporations which don't. I'm sure Microsoft has an equally terrible business practice for every one Apple has. They're all run by a group of individuals who tend to run in the same circle, and statistically speaking, a high percentage of those individuals are sociopaths, so it's kind of to be expected.

If you're going to make me choose one, I'll go with friend, since I'm certainly not a foe, but this kind of divisive nonsense doesn't serve a real purpose anyways, and the honest truth is that I'm neither.

Anti-Apple people act way (way way WAY) worse than people who like Apple.

That said, I do have a Macbook Pro. It's on its last leg after taking abusive due to my clumsiness over the past four years (the big one was an entire cup of coffee that went straight onto the keyboard. That only knocked out my "c" key, though. Lucky, I guess). I'll probably get a new computer before the year is over. I've decided to not go with a Mac, though. I want to do more gaming on my computer. Nothing heavy, really. I just would like to make use of gog.com. It'll still have to be a laptop, though.

Friend or foe? Neither, really. I do love my iPod Classic because it's a beast in both space and durability. My computer was great for my needs before I got further into gaming. I don't feel any need to defend the company, though. I actually tell most people that a Mac isn't worth it for them when they ask me if they should get one. And it's really not worth it to most people. I can still get comparable recording and design uses from other computers. It just wouldn't be nearly as accessible, which is a big plus for my MBP.

Foe. I enjoy my PC and its cheapness that i can then customize. Oh, you're new apple laptop has 4 GBs and cost you 2500 dollars? My laptop cost me about a fifth of that, and after customizing it to have a 3TB memory, only spent 575.
You have 3TB RAM? Interesting.

I know you're just getting storage space and memory confused, but it would be awesome if someone actually had a computer that could make use of that kinda memory.
its RAM. I bought my laptop, tore it apart, built it back up, and put it in my own ram. the memory space is only 2TBs.

Though really my friend is more impressive. Albeit his is a Desktop, but he has 10TB Ram, and and extra 5 TB storage space that he'll never fill in his entire life.
I guarantee you it isn't RAM.

8GB of RAM will run you around $100 today.

10TB is 10,000GB. Thats more than $12,000.

Not to mention no system will be capable of using all of that memory efficiently.

On Topic

Apple make lots of user friendly products for people who will never do anything more than browse the web or do some basic graphics. The number of people who fall into that group of people is immense.

Ok, that BBC video was a bit crazy. No let me rephrase that: "WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON THERE" At first I thought it was just some journalistic sensationalism, the reporter using empty words to compare the employees to a religious cult, but they all came out clapping and cheering for no reason, acting like they were on a high, and kept it up, as if they were bringing glorious isalvation to the luddite masses, and by masses I mean there were tonnes of people there waiting for the shop opening.

Whilst they have fantastic propoganda marketing and I'm sure their products are functional, iPhones seem to be icon of fashion victims and idiots. Not saying all iPhone owners fall into those two groups of course, just a majority of the ones I've met. They're functional phones no doubt, just wildly expensive compared to equally functional alternatives.

Let's just assume for 1 minute that this guy is not mistaken, and his computer dose indeed have 3tb of RAM... this leaves me with just one question: Can it play Crysis?! Seriously though, I'm not surprised to see mistakes like this being made, almost everyday I see an advert (PC world are the worst offenders) saying something like "The new Dell centrino zx200, with 3 gig memory" it drives me nuts. To me that is grossly incorrect, and always makes me feel just a little bit angry inside, it's easy to see how uninformed people are getting confused.

As for apple, can't stand em, I refuse to do any of my editing work at uni because I hate using em because I find them to be so slow (At these are 8 core pro's I'm talking about here - not sure of the other specs mind) I'd much rather come home to my perfectly configured win 7 machine, and use a computer that feels responsive. Additionally who's idea was it to eject a cd (Or USB drive) by dragging it to the bin? Because they need to be fired, it's the least user friendly idea I've ever come across.

I can guarantee it is, I helped build it. its very easy to get parts and material when your friend's father works in tech and at a warehouse where parts can go missing rather easily. besides, he's more then well off, and builds his own parts as well. I know he built my PS3 for me, and thats got 2 Tbs inside (though its in a completely different case, and holds more then the average PS3).

As to a picture of it, I cant. Mainly cause a lot of the parts arent really patent, and right now my friend is in the process of it. so I made him a solemn promise I couldnt show or tell (otherwise his patent can be compromised.

though I'd love to know what gives you the right to say what I can and cant do when you are just a matainence man. Not to be rude, or say you're less of a person for it, but you hardly know me and what I can do.

You can quote me, I'd be more likely to see it. Just hit the quote button on my post.

as to can it? ... probably? I dont care to play Crysis, but I'm sure it can run it.

I don't like to pick sides. I prefer Apple I guess, but I also have Windows dual-booted on here.

What I've always loved about Apple is the customer service. I've heard so many great stories from friends and whatnot about easily getting things replaced or fixed, and now I finally have a story of my own, actually. There was a power surge due to an electrical storm last summer, and it fried the power system of my 24" iMac. It was still covered under warrantee, so they took it in. They tried replacing the power system, but that didn't fix the problem.

So they went ahead and replaced the whole thing. And, since they were no longer making the type of iMac I owned, I ended up with an uprade! My iMac is now the largest and best one they offer, 27" monitor, 3.1GHz, and worth $2000. My original iMac was $1200, plus about $240 for the Applecare extended warrantee. Worth every penny.

I'm a PC gamer so i have very little interest in macs, even if they had more games i would still stick to windows based pcs, because apples products are overpriced and not only pcs, everything they fart out costs twice as much as any other brands product with similar or better specs.

Apple spends a lot of time selling you everything but the actual laptop.

That's probably my first problem with them. It's like buying a car but not being told the gas mileage, the reliability, or the market price for it's components.

Friend. I thoroughly enjoy Apple products and find OS X to be the most comfortable for the work that I do. They're a bit expensive, but everything that I've bought from them has paid for itself.

This doesn't mean that I hate PCs, of course, but you can think otherwise if that knowledge shatters your worldview! ;)

It isn't so easy to get parts that don't exist.

Also, "parts can go missing rather easily" doesn't work when it is thousands of dollars of parts, especially if what you said down below, about a patent pending is true. If a part with a patent pending went missing, a shit storm would ensue.

As to a picture of it, I cant. Mainly cause a lot of the parts arent really patent, and right now my friend is in the process of it. so I made him a solemn promise I couldnt show or tell (otherwise his patent can be compromised.
Thats pretty hilarious. Won't post tech specs or a picture because someone will reverse engineer the picture and steal the technology right out of it.

though I'd love to know what gives you the right to say what I can and cant do when you are just a matainence man. Not to be rude, or say you're less of a person for it, but you hardly know me and what I can do.
Because what you are saying is similar to saying "I put an engine from one of NASA's old shuttles in my moped."

Why do you feel the need to lie on the internet? You made a simple mistake and got mixed up on tech specs, nothing wrong with that, but pursuing this like you are just makes you look dumb.
