what you do with single sex schools is set up multiple cameras around the school and release multiple Halitosis bombs in the schools and watch the fun!

I would hate it. Mostly cause I am not soley like either gender. I love most girly things, but Im also a HUUUUUUUUUGE nerd, which is way more on the guy side. I have my female friends who I do typically expected things with, but then there are my guy friends who I play games with and watch cheesy action movies with.

what so you want us to do your homework for you?.

anyway, I prefer Co-ed, all the people I know that went to single sexed schools are slower in social circles with a good mixture of both sexes, wheres guys automatically segregate themselves away from other women. Because its what they are used to, and women being the chatty things that they are only realise that men don't moisterize (well i do, but i like being pretty).

From a relationship standpoint people that went to single sexed schools are less tolerant towards to opposite sex.

Also of note, growing up I've lived near 3 guys that went to the same single sexed school turn out to be adolescent rapists, now two were brothers and they all lived near each other so it could be argued that it was genetics and enviremental surroundings that fucked them up mentally, but a few of the boys that went were and still are socially inept. They are like 26 year old children.

the case against co-ed is our tolerance, we are more likely to become "victims".

It's odd with single sex schools
I went to a co ed school and i had to deal with dating girls and having break ups and that crap
But it was honestly a good preperation for life
I mean what happens when they work in an office with women their age who believe their attractive the men would have a hard time recepricating.

I had quite a few girl friends who went to their single sex school, Mitchem high
and out of the say 7 I knew who went there.

2 when they left the school the slept around lots whenever at parties
and went through lots of men.

and another 4 are closed off and either dislike men of all ages and think that sex
is un-natural.

and one thinks even a guy THINKING a girl has nice breasts is a disgusting thing.

So 2 became quite loose girls
the other 5 had varrying degrees of closed off personalities about sex and men

O man O man, without looking at this thread i'm sure there are tons of people saying "but lack of social interaction" arguments. All speculation and anecdotal evidence.

IDK about schools but single sex classes are shown to improve alot of math and science scores.

There's a bit of a social advantage to Co-ed but only a little. People use way too many generalisations when talking about the social effect of single sex schooling, I know tonnes of people from single-sex schools and they aren't any different to co-eds. (All of the homosexual arguments about single-sex schools are dodgy too... it's not like there's never been a homosexual at a co ed school).

On the other hand they've done studies showing that boys and girls do learn differently. So there is an academic advantage to single- sex.

So I think Single-sex is better, but no one is going to change their minds on this. We all have our own views.

Guys + more guys + hormones + competitivness + girls = fighting and/or bullying. In my experience of secondary school, all the girls did was give the guys something to try and hurt each other over.

I've found that the education now seems more geared towards girls. Which seems weird, I'm genuinely not trying to be sexist here, but a guy has more chance of being a genius than girl. Anyway, what's wrong with a semi co-ed school? Mix with the girls during lunch and break but take some lessons apart (not just P.E.) with same sex teachers.

I read before that boys do better in Co-ed schools whereas girls do better in single sex...I thought it'd be the opposite but hey!

One of the main points of school, I feel, is social interaction.

So single-sex schools suck, because I do not get along with dudes very well.
And anyway, I don't see the benefits of segregation.
One of the benefits is that it forces guys to take on roles that would normally be left to the girls, I can't think of an example right now, I'm tired. Being at an all guys school, I find that almost no one is a total douchebag, a lot of guys become total pricks and act differently to try to impress the chicks which I feel is the ultimate in douchebaggery.

The greatest benefit is NO TWILIGHT, seriously twilight is never discussed at my school, I can't remember the last time I heard someone even say the word "twilight". My school is awesome.

but mine is a private school

I'd have to say co-ed is better as you have both sexes actively participating in the social network. And besides, if you want to focus on learning, it's the same in both types of school.

Though, my answer is biased as I haven't been to an all-guy school.

This is simply an observation but I've noticed that homophobia is less common in single sex schools, well in all guy schools anyway, by homophobia I mean the dislike of borderline homoerotic acts and appearing to be homosexual. At my school, gay banter is very common and it's fun, I'm straight but I'm not bothered by being called a homosexual. Is that a dry hump in the class room? no one cares.

Has anyone else noticed this?

We've got enough of a sex divide and confusion in communication between sexes without this kind of thing. Seriously, early age is the best time to get people used to others as while kids can be little shits, they also have the potential to be more emotive. Sorry those who like their segregation, but Blahhh to you.

Well, I went to an all boys secondary school (high school).

It certainly helped in that I didn't spend the ages of 14-17 ogling girls in classtime. There was plenty of time for girls after hours anyway...

Eh... the... you... wha?

Maybe that's the reason some boys prefer single sex schools. Not me though, I loves the ladies.

Sexual tension is, for the most part, removed from a single-sex school. It allows for more focus on studies. Of course, I go to a single-sex school, so I may be a bit biased.
Well I agree with your point but I don't think it's worth the soical skills you don't develop.
