I find big spiders unpleasant, but they don't scare me too much unless they appear out of nowhere. Wasps, on the other hand... those things are pure evil.

I did get bitten by one of these fellas once:

Itched like hell for about a week, but that's all.
Weird thing is, that particular type of spider isn't all that aggressive unless you really piss it off.

Too fast, too many legs. I trip myself up with 2 legs, with that many legs, you know they're up to something nefarious.

we're talking of something over a million times smaller than you which you could probably kill just by looking at it funny, and people are afraid to touch the floor when one enters the room...
Personally I find them cute :3
And for the record, I've had enough people talk to me about turantulas... The only spider that freaks me out is the Black Widow, only because it cam immobilize and kill a large animal in at least 3 hours, which I think is fair enough to be honest.

Apparently our fear of bugs is entirely a result of social conditioning. Kids will be absolutely fine playing with bugs at a young age, but when friends or adults start going "OMG A SPIDER, EVERYONE GET OUT OF THE HOUSE" they suddenly become something to be feared.
I dunno, I don't think it entirely is. I have very good memories of my early childhood, including my first discovery of a spider in a web at my cousin's house and how scary and fast it moved when I touched the web out of curiosity. D: And yet, plenty of other creepy things that my family showed fear or dislike of, such as bats and other insects, never bothered me at all.

But to answer the question, I hate spiders because of how they move, and something about the shape of their legs. Also the webs they make, I hate running into them, especially at night when I can't see if there's a spider present. Ugh.

I find some spiders to be adorable, hence why I drew this.
I dislike big spiders though, mostly because they tend to be aggressive if you try and remove them and if you kill them they go crunch and their guts go everywhere. Bleh!!!

I don't like most spiders but I wouldn't mind having a pet black widow. I like the sleekness of it and the red hourglass shape. they just look cool.

Granted I'd probably crush it as soon as it got out of it's cage, simply because my niece and nephew come over alot and those spiders are dangerous to kids.

I think its because they are pretty much alien in comparison to us humans I mean they have 8 legs and eyes, they're covered in spine like hairs, they're fast and agile and get into the most creepy and unexpecting places, they have an exo-skeleton and come in a lot of different sizes varying from the tip of a ball point pen to the size of a large coin and even larger than that.

But I know that every living cell in my body that defines me as a person when ever I see a spider of any size are screaming to my brain that that which I am looking at is the enemy and that it must be destroyed.

Oh and I terrified of spiders lol.

I don't find them scary...

I used to dislike them when I was younger due to one of my older sisters always making a huge deal out of them.

Now I like them, they keep flies away and keep to themselves.

Infact I have one that has made a web right next to my bed and go to sleep and wake up to it being sat right in the middle of it.

The venomous thing is pretty much the only reason I find them scary. I've got a few living around my house that are small and non-venomous; so long as they don't set up webs anywhere annoying or try to climb on me, I pretty much just leave them alone. Works for the most part, the only other bug I see in my apartment is the occasional moth, when they're in season.

My parents have a few tarantulas out by their house. You don't see them often, but they are pretty cool to watch.

Unless they're abnormally big or venomous I've never really understood why people make a big fuss about them.

I am scared to death of spiders, but I'm also facinated by them, pretty simple to be honest, Its just the way they look, and I know they serve an important function, but they still scare the hell out of me.

No, i do not find them scary, but then I am a zoo keeper, and thus trained not to think so, so I don't think I'm the right person to ask

Fear of spiders is something we humans obtained during evolution, as a means to stay alive.
Whenever we see a spider big enough, all hell breaks loose.

I'm not an arachnophobic, but when spider's leg-span is more than an inch (and they're not the ones with tiny bodies) the more disgusting I find them. My brother, who, unlike me, is willing to pick them up and move them, says the fat-bodied, meaty ones just sit in your hands. I'm not scared of them, because I live in the UK and there are no venomous uglies, but they are just so gross I wont be within 9 feet of them.

Around here truly poisonous spiders are rare so I'm not too wound up about it when i see one. That's what makes me fearful if anything. I wonder how much XP i've gained from killing spiders in my life time?

I always found millipedes and centipedes to be far more terrifying if one was crawling on me i'd probably do my best imitation of a smoke detector and wave my hands around like a cartoon housewife
and some of them are poisonous too.

The only spiders that bother me are daddy long legs - I find all other spiders fascinating. I have a fear of bugs falling from my ceiling onto me while I'm sleeping (While our house was being remodeled I slept in the basement; pretty scary stuff down there), but other than that spiders do not bother me at all. Except for daddy long legs. I think it's their body. That little circle with long spindly legs coming out of it is truly horrifying.

For me, it's the sprawly legs. I finally figured out that my perception of creepiness is directly linked to visibility of the legs. Pill bugs, ladybugs, and millipedes have short legs that don't sprawl out as much as spiders, ants, cockroaches, and centipedes.
