In Britain you do it for free, but we do get biscuits and a free cup of tea as well as free healthcare so thats fine.SpecklePattern said:OMG! You get paid. We don't here in Finland. Nothing. But we get ice creams in summer timeKathinka said:i donate, because here they pay you for it ^_^
40 euro for plasma, 55 for full blood and more for some special tricks they pull. (that's around 50-65 USD for our colonist friends)
i even used to have two donator passes with different names, so i could go twice as often by donating during the mandatory breaks with a different identity xD![]()
Yay, another in the "Most useful at an accident site" club. Those letters get really annoying after a while though. I also get 2 lots as I moved so get them telling me to go both to my old and my new sight. So annoying!Sark said:I give blood fairly regularly. As I am an O-, my blood can go to anyone. It is also low in something or other which makes it especially useful as they can give it to babies. Because of these factors, I get regular calls and letters telling me how amazing I am.
Also it's a good way to get a health check on your blood!PayJ567 said:I'm going to start giving blood as soon as I can. Just a good way to help people. Also I don't have to see the people I'm helping.
EDIT: Also it is a good way to pay back the NHS.
I'm with you. I plan on signing up for organ donation when i'm 18. I hit 17 a couple of months ago, but there isn't any hospital around here... And I'm at school, so I don't get home until 4:30.Iznat said:Side note: I don't see why they don't just have people automatically be organ donors and have to opt out of it. There's an organ shortage because people are too lazy to sign up. Anyway.
