This. Absolutely (you took the words right out of my mind -_-). And I just thought of how I know for sure. Sometimes, when I'm at work, I think of MLP, just for the hell of it. And whenever I do, I always get a big smile on my face. Now THAT is unconditional enjoyment right there.
The problem is that the show hits you with a thundering right hook of girlyness, but if you can muster enough willpower to get back up, you'll find it's less of a boxing ring you're in, and more of a rare mining vein full of comedic/plot/animation gold. And if any of us are lucky, that vein runs deep.
Also, I personally find the progression from hater/neutral viewer to brony is quite amusing.
I find this is very appropriate.
