Don't bother. I'm not a brony but I've seen their power. They can survive whatever you through at them. They are capable of surviving in the most hostile environments. [HEADING=2]They've taken root in /b/. IN /b/![/HEADING]
*slaps* there is always hope! and also, TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE!
Don't you understand. This isn't some random board. This isn't some place where the average poster shows compassion. This is /b/. Great wars have been waged there between the bronies and the /b/-tards. And the /b/ronies have survived. I'm sorry, but there is little chance to survive this rising power.

That was terrible. I pity the children who have to grow up with this crap, and weep for those who are older than 6 and still watch this for some reason.

Look here, almost 200 members. It's not as bad as you want to think.
Oh I don't want to think it's bad, I just think it is. The fact any number of other people have a different opinion about this doesn't change mine. To each his own.

I indeed am. I haven't watched the latest episodes (23 and 24, I think), and I really want to see the Cutie Mark Chronicles.

Yes, I'm one too. And I have no regrets.
Thanks for the thought, but I meant I haven't spared the time to watch it, now being no exception.

I'm going to force myself to do it tomorrow.
Ah, alright then. Sorry ^^'

ETA: For the record, I started watching because of the 'Doctor Whooves' pony. The exact moment I knew I was going to watch every episode: When Applebloom said 'aren't you gonna stay for brunch?'

Stupid adorable ponies...

No. Just no. My heart is a pessimistic prison with Walls guarded by the likes of Francis and nick from left 4 dead, and with the chief warden being doctor house himself. No rainbows and the like will ever penetrate it. NEVER!

Oh god, it's spread so fast though, I have to warn people, please, trust no-one! Alert the army! My god if I wasn't on iPod I'd post a screenshots from the "shouting at traffic" scene from the original "bodysnatchers"!

I have honestly tried to get into the show, but alas, I do not like it. I won't say it's bad though, just not my thing.

So no, I am not a Brony.

I'm on the fence about this one. I watched through a clip and found it interesting and disgustingly cute at the same time.

It's so cute and I love how it's taking over the internet. I should actually watch a full episode sometime, but stuff online is amazing. The animation and colors and art is great. And I love ponies.

So, I'm a bit of a Lady Brony, yes.

No bother, nice to see people on the Internet who are considerate to others interests.

Yes, it's easily the most adorable thing I've seen. Halfway through the first episode I realized I was smiling, and I couldn't stop.

If only I had the skills to make that in paint...

No I didn't make it, it's more a show of what frequently happens in pony threads on 4chan (mainly /co/ I believe). Someone comes in rather skeptical of the whole thing. He's showered with ponyness and after digging a bit he becomes intrigued. And so begins he fall to the Pony side...

I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a "brony", but I do enjoy the show; on the character level it's very funny and well written (on the plot level it sometimes feels like executives who didn't really "get" what Lauren Faust had going on here were trying to enforce some sort of nebulous "girl appeal" quota). But my main interest is as an animation student, because this shit is FUCKING GORGEOUS. I would give my right arm to have the chance to work with and learn from these animators, holy shit.

Well, I'd give my left arm, anyway. I kind of need my right to draw with.

So I've been wondering where all these My Little Pony avatars have been coming from for a while now, and I finally had the free time to look up the show, My Little Pony: Friendhsip is Magic (AKA the least manly title in the history of ever). After watching the first episode I mostly loled, but was like, "well it's to be continued. I have to watch the second episode to." I'm now four episodes in and ashamed of myself.

Urban dictionary definition

Brony-A name typically given to the male viewers/fans (whether they are straight, gay, bisexual, etc.) of the My Little Pony show or franchise. They typically do not give in to the hype that males aren't allowed to enjoy things that may be intended for females.

Example:person A: So I was listening to this song called Winter Wrap Up, and it just got stuck in my head...

Person B: Winter Wrap Up? What kind of name for a song is that?

Person A: What? You haven't heard that song? It from the episode of My Little Pony where?

Person B: I no longer give a fuck.

Person A: Relax! I'm just an awesome Brony who is?

*Person B punches Person A across the face*
The somewhat baffling appeal that a show obviously meant for little girls in their early developing years can excersize to a possible male audience of twenty years-old bronies, can be rather easy explained as a subtle form of nostalgia... let's review the main characters: we got the straight-headed main heroine that has a lot to learn about the world around her, the easy-to- befriend joyful gal with some genuine life experience(which happens to be southern, in this particular occasion), the feisty, fired-up one with great expectations and self-confidence, the seemingly vain but ultimately wise type, the shy one and the light-headed, funny dimwit... if you think about it, those are the kind of archetypes we (as a male crowd, that is) used to find in so, so many anime shows, especially "Magic Girl" anime show (such as "Sailor Moon"), which were, without a shadow of a doubt, the very first televised things meant for girls to receive appreciation from a then young (and sexually confused) male audience... as for me and many of my generation, "Sailor Moon" was my personal guilty pleasure... although I wouldn't be fancy about it, for obvious reasons! But perhaps, I'm looking to much into this... another, more immediatley recognizable factor, is the immediate sense of familiarity the graphics, designs and narrative styles that this particular show is able to offer to everyone who has ever grown up with Cartoon Network and stupendous shows like "The PowerPuff Girls" (which, tragically enough, was turned into a grotesque "Magic Girl" anime show by some evil Japanese producers) and "Foster's House for Imaginary Friends"... or any other of the awesome series from the '90: the absolute best period for TV Animation in the hystory of the World (it made us forgot, although momentarily, of all those awful looking, cheap, action figures-based cartoons from the '80).
So, yeah... "My Little Pony".
Personally, if this show can somehow drag some of those early developing girls AWAY from the accursed "Twatlight Saga" (eh eh, I'm so clever), it's all for the best!
On a side note: What's the Deal with Girls liking Ponies so much!?
And a-way we go!

So, does that make the fact that the main character is named 'Twilight Sparkle' ironic?
