Not really, but if I stop for a second because I ended up the the enemy spawn AGAIN I immediately get screamed at for being a camper.

I use tactics. Don't tell me to run into the line of fire, when I know perfectly well eighty-eight other guys are about to do the exact same thing. If I sit on top of a house and pick them all off with a sniper, or I hide under a bridge and cut their legs off with a machine-gun, then I'm playing the game how it's supposed to be done; tactically.

If I'm top of the house, shoot at me. If I'm under a bridge, throw a grenade under. Dealing with a camper is easy as hell once you find them, a quick Kill Cam, or just paying attention will show you where I am, and then you will kill me. I last just as long camping as I do running around randomly. In it's nature, shooting someone standing still in one place for a long time is easy and if you find it difficult, you know where I am, avoid it. It's not hard.

Why should I have to bow down to these 'roolz' everyone makes up on internet forums for the sake of making their life easier? I don't extort glitches, I don't use cheats, I stand still and shoot, I'll use the grenade launcher and other 'noob' weapons, because I like them. It's like the fuckers who try to tell me that I can't be a Demoman in Team Fortress 2 because the sticky-bombs are cheap. They're not; they're slow, very easy to dodge by nature, and all you have to do is run up to me and you can slaughter me in seconds.

Oh lulz, when I say talent, I don't mean actual game skills, but rather RL talent. Just how pathetic must one be in RL to use camping to get a high score on a game to feel like they've accomplished something?

Games are for fun, and if you camp because you take kill:death ratio even the least bit seriously, that's just fucking pathetic.
Games aren't for fun... games are played to win which creates the fun, the only people that think they're for fun is those that either suck at them or don't understand how to play them.

Even if you play soccer, basketball, football or whatever with your friends you usually want to win xD

If you want to have fun play Singleplayer, Multiplayer is COMPETITIVE play...
Go play league matches then. In most multi player games I am not bothered about my score. TF2 for example I mostly play as the spy. I hide and sneak around for minutes at a time, avoiding other players and waiting for the perfect kill. My score might show one kill in a round, but if that kill was a perfect back stab and escape then I'l be happy.

Happiness and enjoyment are the point of games, not score. Score is just one way of achieving that goal.

In MW2 I sometimes camp. But I am usually the worst type of camper. You know the kind, with the Akimbo G18's and the claymores. That's me on occasion.

Let me just make one thing absolutely clear.

[HEADING=1]CAMPING IS A VALID TACTIC!!!!![/HEADING]

Sorry about that, just had to get it out of my system. Honestly though, the only times I don't agree with camping are when somebody is spawn camping to the point of obscenity, i.e. they literally kill you within a second of you spawning every single time you spawn (in which case they're likely using a bot), or when aimbots are being used. Otherwise, you'd camp if you were an actual soldier in real life, right? It's a valid military tactic. So I see no problem using it in a game. I don't regularly camp myself, but if I do I expect to be able to do so without stupid narrow-minded people accusing me of cheating.

*Team mates and myself take and secure the mansion on Estate and dig in* "CAMPERS!" *pops retard in the head from balcony*

That's my view on camping.

Considering the game is paid out of our own money, as is the pc, broadband fee etc - I will play how I damn want to play, if camping is how I am feeling I will camp. And every time a player cries about a tactic I die inside...

...Last night I was playing about on mw2 with me clannies and I got accused of camping, bunny hopping, pre-firing and a few other things, people have a fucking whine for everything these days...

"OMG ur uzing da moose! itz ruaining the game for evry1!"

i said no, but in games where u need to defend an objective then camping is expected and needed to win and obviously snipers like u said but even then good ones will move around
Camping in an objective game besides Domination is fine in my opinion. Why wouldn't you be defending the the point like that?

OT: Not really. Not even with a sniper, most of the time. I try to go offensive whenever I Snipe. (Keyword is try)

No, I generally don't camp, unless I play as a machinegunner/sniper/AT-soldier when it's stupid/impossible not to camp (I don't stay in the same spot all the time though, I do relocate from time to time).

Woah hey, guess what isn't real life! First Person Shooters.

Your argument is invalid.

People hate it. In that case you should DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

All games have ways to fix this. One popular option is TO FLUSH HIS FUCKING ASS OUT WITH GRENADES. Camping is a valid tactic, which is annoying, but not hard to parry.

I camp because I lack the skill and abillity to run around and kill people without looking down the sights. And whenever i do get an enemy in my sights i have a tendancy to stand still.

Camping is nessecary when your trying to defend something... so yes I do

I dont play online so I dont have to deal with whingy bitches who rage quit but thats the only problem I would have with camping online...

I do camp a bit when I go Airsofting though... which is much more intense than online gaming... its sometimes hard to stop yourself from camping.
But If I have a team-mate with me Ill try to avoid it... move up in pairs...
If I do find myself up against a camper, I dont complain... I just use another great strategy, stealth.

Depends what you define as camping or a "camper"

my general playstyle in MW2 is to move around the map and get into positions to where the traffic is and snipe a few people, this can leave me standing in the open while i line up shots or in different niches.

I also combine my ghuille suit with enviroment and hide in shrubs when i know the enemy is coming by and use that to my advantage, or i simply lay still and let them pass, but generally if i go for the kill i move out so they don't feel they've been camped, also noting that i generally move on after a couple of kills or when its safe to do so (note generally nobody comes back to look for me).

I wouldn't call my self a camper, i don't sit still for entire matches, however i will generally use stealth techniques on occasions.

Because I'm so tired of nitwits with A.D.D. that can't hold objectives, I've begun to take it upon myself to play defensive classes and camp capture points in games.

TF2 engineer, and now Robotics in Global Agenda.

If I end up on a team with just one other like-minded person, we usually win 9 times out of 10. Funny how that happens.
