I hate dogs, I can't understand or communicate with them. I tell a cat to come, it will usually come. I tell a cat to go away, it leaves. No training involved. I tell a dog to get the fuck away and it keeps coming. By the way, anyone know how to say fuck off is dog-ese?

Tarantulas and bunnies more than either cats or dogs.

Though if I had to pick between the two, definitely cats.

I love Dogs a little bit more but generally I think they're pretty much even when it comes to "which is the better pet".

I'm a dog person and frankly, I fucking hate cats.
A question to cat owners: We train dogs to shit outside, so why do you let your cat shit in a box inside of your house? Doesn't make sense to me.
Why do people who own rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, etc. let their pet poop in a box that's indoors, huh?

Anyway, I'm not really that much of a cat person anymore (I've owned and taken care of both cats and dogs with my family), I'm more of an every-animal-except-dog kind of person. I do have a cat right now as well, but most of my pets are invertebrates and I'm planning to make this the last cat I own before I switch over to birds as my "main" pets.

Edit: Correction, I sort of misread the post.
Doesn't answer my question as to why you would allow an animal shit in your house.
Because I'm an animal (Homo sapiens sapiens) and I shit in the house. Outhouses went out of style a while ago, we have toilets inside nowadays you see.

Some cats (not all) and other pets have difficulties using toilets designed for humans, therefore they have toilets specifically designed for them and they often work. The only inconvenience is that they're usually not flushable.
So your cat is better than you? Alright, I think I get it.
You had to think about that little you're vs. your question for a while before editing your post, didn't you? I haven't slept in two days and English isn't my native language, now what's your excuse?

Dogs, it's just the way they love you no matter what. I have only met one cat that was like that.

Neither. I happen to be one of those unfortunate souls who is allergic to all the cute puppies and kitties of the world (well, the ones with fur anyway).

Of the two I prefer cats, but not by a whole heckuva lot.

dogs, definetly though if they were humans they would be horribly clingy and attention seeking

cats would be evil scheaming manipulators

so really the best option is to go with goldfish

Cats for sure. I like dogs too, but cats are easier to take care of and are slightly smarter than dogs, well both my cats are smarter than my dog anyways. Also, cats are easier to cuddle with!

I love dogs. I like cats, but dogs are just... I don't know, more fun I guess. You can do more things with a dog. That being said, cats are easier to take care of with a full-time job and other obligations.

the answer most people give is that cats have a cat box so that we dont have to let them out, as for a cat door some people have them instead but you let in raccoons and other animals.

As for my self i prefer cats since they love to be pet, come when i call, are very affectionate, are smarter than the average dog, and dont need the attention 24/7 I could ignore them for a month and they would have no problem being pet the next day.

Cats for me, no question nor contest, really. X3

Dogs are way too loud and needy. They'll bark and howl at anything at anytime, and even go as far as waking up their owners and any nearby residents in the dead of the night to be let outside to answer the call of nature... then you have to avoid the brown landmines in your yard, and possibly get yelled at by neighbors because your dog deployed them outside the Theater of War... or Poo, or whatever.

Cats? They purr and meow, both wonderfully pleasant sounds to my ears. They don't need to be let out since they have a litter box, so you'll sleep soundly regardless of when kitteh has to "go".

But meh, I'll let one of our feline friends speak for himself, as he can more eloquently demonstrate why cats are better than dags. Meet Maru: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uDuls5TyNE

I find cats are kind of selfish, and they give me bad allergic reactions.
Dogs seem more caring, and like to be with you.
Even if I leave the house for about fifteen minutes, my dog is always incredibly excited to see me come home.

Cats are easier to handle, in my humble opinion. And cuter. And they're batshit insane.
