Quite possibly the first and only straight forward poll question I've ever asked, are you a cat or dog person? Its my belief that every single human being is either a cat or dog person, its a question of whether you prefer an intelectual friend or a companion whom you are considerally smarter than (needless to say I'm a cat person) I mean, i do like dogs but I wouldnt want one living in my home, cats on the other hand? That's a different matter.

So what do you think?

I'm a cat person. To me, they just seem more calm and laid back. They fit my personality.

Dog person, I have an English Cocker spaniel called Ruby. She's jet black, and she's mad and I love it! I took her to see our Llamas today and they got on really well, it was hilarious.

Dog person, they're loyal and fun. Cats are boring and just live in your house because you give it food.
see thats precicely why im a cat person, cos they live with you because they WANT to, not because they have to. and i like to think that the regular attention and general hangin' out is a contributing factor aswell

Dog, I honestly cannot abide cats, they're useful in their rat/mouse catching ability but other than that they're so bleh.
Though ... I hate the thought of animals in the house in general so a dog's a much better choice and it gives incentive to actually get out and do some exercise!
I hate quite a lot of the more useless breeds of dogs too though o_O
Don't think I'm really an animal person at all to be honest xD

Dog. I'll take a pet that loves me for more reason than because I feed it.

woah! I'm getting some major deja vu [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.191048-Poll-Are-you-a-cat-or-dog-person?page=1] here!
Anyway, Dog. I connect with them on a very basic level. And if I were an animal I'd probably be a dog.

Cat person, dogs needs to have their ...paw... held all the way, cats are much easier like that.

I have a pet for it's companionship and reciprocal love. Clearly, I am a dog person.

Plus, dogs poop outside, cats are creepy and stinky.
Odd, I've always found that dogs smell much worse than cats. And cats can poop outside as well, you just have to teach em out - just like dogs.

I think of myself as an animal person overall, but I do favor cats a lot.

Cats do love you for more reasons than that. They're just too proud to admit it most of the time.

I've seen plenty of dogs survive on their own.

Anyways, dogs, in my opinion are smarter. Cats, to me, rely mostly on instinct, not to mention that dogs have in the past solved puzzles similar to what you give to a primate. The Soviets even sent a dog into space and the police, military and rescue services use dogs all the time.

And aside from all of that, dogs have always shown genuine love and care towards me, cats have not. Dogs are also much more interesting, have more personality, provide security and they don't walk all over your kitchen surfaces. And anyways, how often do cats save peoples lives?
