I've leaned towards dogs most of my life because one of my cats was very prone to scratching you, but currently I'm more of a cat person. One of my late cats randomly appearing out of nowhere on walks helps (we called him "ninja kitty").

Both-They have their pros and cons. I was in the process of getting a French bulldog, but acquired three cats(that were going to be destroyed cause my sister can be such a *****) instead.

I've always thought cats were cuter, but in the long run, I prefer dogs. I find them a lot more fun.

Cats. You don't need to go outside to clean up their poop. Or take them outside to poop in the first place. Litter-boxes ftw.

When you get a good cat, they're AWESOME. Most dog people have only met bad cats in their lives, I think. Cats are cuter too.

A dog will love you regardless, a cat will have to to think and choose.

A dog bit me once, made a little hole in my arm, caused it to swell up and go a weird colour. Was okay though.
I still like dogs although I'm really cautious around them now.
I prefer kitties, they're all lovely and fluffy ^^

Cats. Our poop outside. They also keep quiet, and have a pretty reasonable agreement with us.
Plus they're the villain's pet of choice.

And since we had a dog, I can't look at dogs without thinking "DERP!"

Dogs are hyperactive, irritating attention whores. They have no concept of personal space and always try to get you to pay attention to them. They're like that annoying kid at school that wants to be part of your group, so he always hangs around trying to talk about relevant things despite the fact that he has nothing to say outside of his bug collection and his next optometrist appointment: he's annoying and you don't want him around, but he always hangs around you anyway because he wants your acceptance and attention more than anything else in the world, including your happiness.

Cats, always. They don't particularly care, but if you get the right cat, they will just curl up on your lap and sit there purring as long as you want them to. I love cats.

I've seen plenty of dogs survive on their own.

Anyways, dogs, in my opinion are smarter. Cats, to me, rely mostly on instinct, not to mention that dogs have in the past solved puzzles similar to what you give to a primate. The Soviets even sent a dog into space and the police, military and rescue services use dogs all the time.

And aside from all of that, dogs have always shown genuine love and care towards me, cats have not. Dogs are also much more interesting, have more personality, provide security and they don't walk all over your kitchen surfaces. And anyways, how often do cats save peoples lives?
ok where to start?
- cats are considerably smarter than dogs, any cat owner can tell that
- you could send a lump of cheese into space, that wouldnt mean its intelegent
- dogs are popular workers because of their natural skills, a dogs sense of smell is better than a human's that doesnt make it smarter

Cats don't only love you for food. My cat loves to cuddle and play just like any dog would. He's my best friend. So cat person here.

Cats. We've had various cats here over the years since I was a kid. Although sometimes they drowned or died in car accidents (and one died of old age at 20 years), we always have atleast one wandering around in our household.

We got 3 now. They're all awesome. One is a female cat, constantly purring and licking any piece uncovered human skin until there are 4 layers missing. Another is a stereotypical sleep-cat who wakes up to go outside or to eat, and the last one is a cat that was born in this house - a slighty agressive cat with a somewhat doglike behaviour (if you call him, he comes, and when I put my coat on to go outside, he leaves the house volunaterily before I can set him outside ).

I own both but I'm more partial to cats myself because i think they can be more up close and personal with you then a big dog can can. I like dogs a lot to especially really big ones like Noofs or Mastiffs

Dogs all the way. They just seem to have so much more personality and love than cats. And whoever says a cat is more "up close and personal" hasn't had a play fight with a dog!

Yeah, I do it! It's fun! You can't play like that with a cat!

I laughed pretty hard at this. I have to agree with you there.

I also have a 4 fishes in the tank, 2 peacocks and a rabbit
