I'm a console gamer trying to convert to a PC gamer. But as long as games I want have DRMs I'll never be able to stick to my PC.

I've been a PC gamer since a teen with a Commodore 64 with a cassette tape player instead of a hard drive! You played a cassette tape, exactly like a music cassette from the 80's, to load the game program each time. It took forever but was magic once it finished and you could play.
That being my first gaming experiences, PC remains my primary platform. As long as I can do it that is. It sure looks like all gaming is being steadily crammed into one of two portals, XBOX, or Nintendo's online portals.
PC feels like it is dying from lack of support and is being treated like the third wheel.
I've always been happy for those whose background leans towards consoles as I do toward PC, I just wish my preference wasn't being left out, dying slowly from neglect.
In 5 years if we only have those two 'choices', how long until the two compete to see how high they can price their games?
Why should they compete downward with only two options? They won't even have to collude to do it.
Just a matter of one raising from $60 to $65. The other follows suit. Then $70... Impossible? Check out game prices in Japan. It's not all just the exchange rate either.
If they both stay the equal, what will we do?
More options is a good thing.
I wish there were multiple console makers AND healthy PC gaming options in the market today.

I play both and use them what they were made for. PCs for FPS, RTS, RPG, MMO and Sims. Consoles for Action games(a la DMC, God of War), Platformers and Fighting games. Seriously try Megaman on an Emulator and you will ball your eyes out with difficulty especially the latter ones like Megaman X which need you to use shoulder buttons. All I can say it thank God for save states.

only pc game i did play was runescape and that doesent really count, i much prefer the feel of sitting back and holding a controller, with the computer you leave it, with consoles if i want to do something else i just put the controller down
