We all know that when it comes to arguing about games, the chances of someone calling someone else a "fanboy" are in the vicinity of 10000%.

But... are you? Come on, confess!

That depends on your definition of fanboy. According to mine, I'm not a fanboy.

I'm a fanboy of MGS and will defend it to the death. Just you try and say the story doesn't make sense.

Not really, I consider myself mature enough to understand problems people might have with things that I like. What matters is how those cons weigh against the pros.

If I love a game, then I am more likely to buy the sequel to it. If that makes me a fanboy, and not the average consumer then call me a fanboy.

Wait! I do also have a strong need to beatup anyone who dislikes games that I like. So maybe I am a fanboy.

Yes, I am a Star Wars fanboy, a Hellboy fanboy, and a Full Metal Alchemist fanboy. And I am proud of it!

I used to be a big Sonic fanboy, and later a Nintendo fanboy but I thankfully grew out of it.

Even though I can still be a fan of a series, for example Metroid, I'm not blind enough to call every game in the series good even when it's not (Metroid Other M is atrociously bad) like I used to.

My avatar says so, but I don't think I am...

I like to think I can see both sides of any discussion, but maybe I can't.

Yes...sort of, I really hate to admit it but in the case of Final Fantasy I can be. However I can see the flaws, I'm not an ignorant fanboy.

I bounce around to much to be considered a fanboy of anything in the gaming world.

I guess if I have one series I love despite numerous faults it's STALKER. I'm adoring Metro 2033, not so much as best game ever, but I'd love to see more from that dev.

I've gotten completely tired of the same re-hases of old Nintendo games, Twilight Princess was technically great, but Ganon again? Really Nintendo?

I loved Halo 2, and bought H3...but became so sick of it I moved on to much much better online FPSes. Friends convinced me to buy Reach, but I don't have high hopes for it. ODST didn't even register on my radar.

Gears of War was my first 360 game, it was ok, but the online was an abortion. GoW2 was a carbon copy of the first game with marginally less shitty online. I've abandoned the series.

Never owned a Playstation, but I loved tons of Playstation games. I've always bought my own systems, even as a kid, so I could never afford two at once. I consider my lack of knowledge in the Playstation arena embarrassing.

I love 360 games, but constantly rag on the 360 itself for being a complete pile of shit, correction, a loud pile of shit.

I hate the Wii, but only because I hate motion controls as much as Yahtzee.

The original Xbox had a paltry game library compared to PS2, but was a vastly superior device. My old Xbox has a 500GB hard drive in it and functions as my media server.

and on and on and on.

I guess the only thing I'll defend with honor would be that the SNES dick-slapped anything from Sega.

Edit: Forgot Valve, love Valve games. Cept I was ticked when L4D2 came out so recently after the first one. I didn't buy it and I never will.

Yes, I consider myself a fanboy for the Homeworld, Halo, and Mass Effect franchises (in that order, descending). Though right now, what with Halo: Reach, Mass Effect and its Lair of the Shadow Broker just seems quaint to me.

Yes, I am a Final Fantasy fanboy. Except when it comes to XII.
Xii was/is the best. I'm serious, prove me wrong and I'll givve you an internet cookie.
Simple.

Worst. Lead. Character. EVER.
I just pretended Balthier was the lead and the game got a lot better...
OT: of course I'm a Valve fanboy and proud of it....
I still flog myself daily however...

That's not being a fanboy. Being a fan-boy is blind brand loyalty without any substance. The MGS series is one of the most touching, intelligent, satisfying series in existance. Trust me; you're fine!
On topic, no. As long as you have reasons to back up what you say, you're not a fanboy.
