PC. I've actually been playing on a computer ever since I was a young boy, so it's simply what I've become comfortable with. I've never felt right with a controller in my hand. I kind of need a keyboard and a mouse in order to really feel at ease while playing games. Also, most of the games that interest me (mostly RPGs) tend to just work much better on a PC, so that is a pretty significant reason as well.

That said, if they actually featured keyboard and mouse compatibility with consoles, I may switch over to one due to the less stressful simplicity they offer.

Wow, i'm surpised by this pool. I thought there will be more Sony supporters, than Nintendo supporters. Kinda shows, that most people who buy the PS4 aren't really a dedicated gamer.

OT: I choose can't decide. I play mostly on my PC, because the games are cheap, they look and play better most of the time. Yet, i'm a big supporter of both Sony and Nintendo exclusive games.

...Does it need to be pointed out that most people typing out long-form forum posts are probably not doing so with a keyboard attached to a console?

I have a PC and a Wii. I do most of my gaming on the PC; I grew up with computers, I'm comfortable with the interface, I can play most of the things I'd like to on the platform, and I can use it for things other than games, some of which bring in some income, which helps justify the money that goes back into the hardware. I also tend to prefer to play games in a private space, rather than with someone peering over my shoulder. (Sorry, Steam Box.)

I have nothing against anyone who chooses to play on any other platform; there are some great games available for every one of them, and that's plenty enough reason to play 'em (if, perhaps, not such a good reason to get into a screaming match about them.)

I consider myself a Nintendo/PC person. Nintendo for the great exclusives, PC for the multiplats. The exclusives on the other platforms aren't that interesting to me and multiplats are objectively better on the PC unless the developer is full of incompetent idiots. But even then the PC modding scene fixes most problems.

If I had to pick only one, it would be Nintendo. No matter what people say, for me Nintendo games still have the old magic and fun which makes me excited the moment I hear about a new game. They may be using Mario a lot, but I don't care. I don't play the games for the character but for the gameplay, and Nintendo does it right every single time. There is always something new and interesting and when not, I get something I like, but improved by a factor of 10. For me, even a bad Nintendo game is mostly a good game (except Other M... that thing... *shrugs*).

Lately the naming policy on the other hand... someone should seriously get fired. It's like they didn't learn anything from the Wii U and how confusing they try to make it to the average costumer.

As far as hardware goes, while this seems to be a big thing to most people, I don't care as long as it runs the games. I have a PC (although not top end by any means) and it runs the multiplats and looks nice. I don't need a console to try to emulate and fail at being my PC. A console needs to be different and offer something different than my PC in order to be interesting to me.

I support Nintendo and PC heavily, mostly because of the games.

PS4 and Xbox games aim for style over substance in most of their games. Just look at Assassin's Creed. Photorealistic graphics which age poorly and extremely shallow and boring gameplay.

At least Nintendo games prioritise gameplay first and foremost. Most of the hate directed at Nintendo stems from people under the illusion that same characters=\=same game.

PC has a lot of open support, so naturally it's the best platform for indie games, which again, prioritise gameplay and nice aesthetics over photorealistic graphics.

I picked 'Other' since I'm a fan of all except Nintendo. No offense meant to Nintendo fans but they have never produced anything that appeals to me.

Out of the others I'm not sure which I'd pick to be my favourite.

PC has the wide range of control inputs which allows it to cover any game format, it also has mod capability and of course Steam sales. In the last 2 years the PC has become my main gaming platform but I couldn't rank it up first; because...

I've burned my way through 3 Xbox 360s and 4 controllers, all in the space of 5 years. It was my main gaming platform though university and for some time afterwards too. Pretty much all of my friends had one so I could justify the expense of a Live membership and it also has a respectable collection of games which support local multiplayer. But again it can't come first; because...

The Playstation and PS2 were the gaming platforms of my formative years and shaped a lot of my childhood memories. The PS2 has such a large library it's ridiculous. Its still hooked up even now for when I want to jaunt around GTA or Guitar Hero. And then theres the PS3, which is the most recent addition to the family (last week actually), and such an acquisition has massively expanded the potential of my game backlog. It also means that I don't have to mess around keeping the Blu-Ray player in my PC up to date. But neither can this be the first; because...

I can't take any of these out with me. I've recently started playing mobile games on my phone, which is a great way to keep entertained during a lonely lunch break or a long train ride and its one of many justifications for buying fancy smartphones that cost me lots of money.

So many gaming platforms its a wonder that I have time to write about them!

I think the bigger question is what is the most normal combo. I'm seeing a lot of PC/Nintendo (including me).

I voted for Nintendo, because whilst I do play and enjoy games across Sony and Microsoft systems (and when they were a console maker, Sega systems), my gaming is primarily focused on Nintendo systems, IPs, and exclusives. If I was forced into having only one companies system, I'd manage pretty well with just the Nintendo systems and only regretting the lack of an occasional game or series available on the Sony or Microsoft systems.

As for a 2nd most liked, I'm mixed on that now. Sony has many great IPs, though it's been a while since they've used a few of them outside of the recent PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Meanwhile, whilst Microsoft doesn't have many IPs or series I'm interested in, I am going to be an Xbox One soon because of it's controller and a decent handful of games I'm looking forward to later this year and next year.

As for PC, never really been a fan of it, and few exclusive series that have appealed to me (although those Touhou Project fighters did look very intriguing).

The poll on this thread could do with clearing up. 'Microsoft' is not a games platform it is a company which could be connected multiple platforms. Same with Sony and Nintendo. So is it a poll for which company you support or what console you favour?

Personally I've been gaming almost exclusively on the PS1, 2, and 3 since they were released. That said I'd say I'm more of a PC supporter at this exact moment. Console gaming just doesn't hold much interest for me any more. I's been getting increasingly consumer unfriendly for some time and this is the console gen I've drawn the line at so I finally got a decent PC instead to see me through the foreseeable future of gaming.

I played PC games most of my life but I switched over to Playstation because I like to keep my work and games separate.

Some of my favorite games of all time are best played on Playstation or Playstation exclusive so I'm happy with my choice.

PC only now, I was multi-platform when it meant something. This gen is just rehashing all the games from last gen. Last of Us was good despite the predictable, cliched story, and absolutely horrendous game-play, but do I want to buy it again with slightly better graphics? I mean have they even managed 1080P and 60FPS with it? Why does that even have to be a question with a new generation? XBone is just getting rehash of a rehash of the most generic, space marine, consolized FPS ever, and not even the best one (ODST). Exclusives are just timed now, even Microsoft and Sony don't have enough money to keep third party devs from cashing in on every platform. Consoles are on their last legs, struggling to stay relevant, seems they will go out with a whimper, rather than with a spectacular memorable finish. So for me PC only till cloud gaming, then I will see, stay an enthusiast or just plug a keyboard and mouse into the cloud and game with near limitless possibilities. Also mobile devices should have been an option, for me they haven't passed the PC in amount of use, but I can play Vice City and Max Payne on my phone... BioShock as well if they do an android release, times are changing, R.I.P. stagnating consoles.
At this point your posts might as well come with an auto reply considering how much you state this hilariously incorrect statement. Consoles are bigger than ever, fact. PC gaming being bigger doesn't mean console gaming is dead, fact. Tyson Kidd is surprisingly good as a heel due to his new gimmick, fact[footnote]Actually a reference and not me being rude or anything just in case anyone gets the wrong idea.[/footnote].

Now your exclusives claim is not said as often I suppose but also wrong. Nintendo, Sony, and if Microsoft screws their head back on first party will be full exclusives, and Nintendo and Sony will get loads of Japanese third party exclusives (Microsoft really is screwed on that end being an American Comapany I have to say).
You not knowing or caring about such games does not mean you can claim a falsity as a truth.

PC. Just because you don't have to worry about backwards compatibility: with a little finagling, you can get any PC game to run on it, no matter how old it is.
Though I also love my Nintendo and Sony consoles, and portables will always be my preferred platform for most games.

Different platforms, different uses. There is none I like better or worse then the other. Sometimes I like to enjoy some handheld gaming, other times I want to relax before the television and yes sometimes I like to play some old school or some indie games on the laptop.

So in the end whatever I feel up for at the moment. I am a gamer, I like to play games, on what platform it comes I really don't care to much.

Sony. They gave me my childhood. I was 3 when my dad put a PS1 controller in my hands and I haven't let go since. Not to say I'm loyal to the core, DS3's rear triggers were a stupid mistake and they could have handled that hack better. But they do better than M$ when it comes to online and their exclusives are fantastic and well built.

That being said, I constantly have respect from Nintendo. Sure, they don't always listen to their fans, but they're a good company at heart, with a lot of soul. If I were to get a console this gen I would get a Wii U. Their E3 panel was great.
It's partially due to the fact I never experienced their games until I was older, so I've been going back and playing some SNES titles, particularly Super Metroid, which is excellent.

I've had PC games since before the term PC was coined. I remember DOS, text adventure games, and Doom II on a stack of floppies. It took 30 whole MB of space -- on my 100MB hard drive, ha! These days I have single Photoshop files in excess of 400MB. How times change.

I'm old enough to have worked my way from Atari 2600 on up. I've owned the latest PlayStation since shortly after each was released. Don't have a PS4 yet, not sure I need one. Visuals are better, larger hard drive, but eh. Last gen saw real change: we jumped to hard drives, HD visuals, and downloadable games. This generation is just more of the same. I've never been one to count nose hairs or particle effects in console games so improved visuals aren't much of a draw. Think I might be done buying consoles.

Is there an all of the above? I've dabbled in all 4 at some stage or another; I consider myself a jack of all trades when it comes to gaming at the moment. I don't have a next-gen console or a high-end PC, but I've got all the consoles from the last generation, a PC roughly equivalent to them, and a 3DS and Vita.

Is it just me or do all consoles have crappy names? PlayStation sounds like a workplace, XBox sounds like something a corporate management focus group consisting of 40-year-olds came up with ("Put lots of 'X's in it! The kids will dig it!") and Wii is something you hire a guy to do on you from a shady wet works website.
<-< That last one was oddly specific......

:c .........RIP.

You have a point though. Interesting names indeed.

OT: I'm a Sony person I guess. Grew up on the Playstation, then the Playstation 2, and so on.

Had a fair number of Gameboys too, but mostly just for pokemon.
