I've been a PC person forever basically. However, I've been just as into all my consoles. The only time I gave up consoles was in the last generation. PS3/Xbox 360. Until then, I had basically owned them all and played them just as often as my PC. However the offerings on consoles gradually became less and less appealing to me and all of the perks of a console gradually disappeared. I started to see them more as overbloated PCs with less capability, which has mostly become the case.

Now I game exclusively on my PC and I still enjoy all the old console games I used to enjoy from the PS2 era and backwards. Sometimes I miss out on an exclusive title chained to the consoles but it isn't enough to have me purchase one. I will rarely purchase a system solely to acquire a game on it. If I wait long enough, PC will be able to emulate it or acquire a port.

I do kind of miss those days of when consoles rocked. For now though, I am content with my gaming PC/laptop. That and I don't really buy into many AAA releases anymore, more offerings on the PC outside of the AAA market.

I've been a Nintendo man since I first held a Zapper, with forays into Sega, Commodore, and Sony.

Of course, Atari was my first love...

Idort master race checking in. Yeah, I eventually get them all because they all have something I want. Xbox for the most comfortable controller in gaming and a few of the PC names brought to console for the ease. Sony for the other kind of RPG(yeah, that's what I meant by PC) and their platformer classics(Jak, Spyro, hell even Nate Drake). Ninty for the oddness, you can't get what they do anywhere else. PC for mods, cheap games, and the ability to customize my experience. Also, Vita for that console experience while on break at work or in the Dr's office and 3DS for Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei games(yeah, i know, Sony got em too) and Ace Attorney.

This is what all true gamers strive for.

While the consoles have the odd game i would like to experience.. zombiu, last of us. there simply isnt enough for me to justify purchasing a console. especially as the games i usually play simply dont and cant really exist on a console.

I still miss my amiga though. perfect blend of computer and console plug and play

Is it just me or do all consoles have crappy names? PlayStation sounds like a workplace, XBox sounds like something a corporate management focus group consisting of 40-year-olds came up with ("Put lots of 'X's in it! The kids will dig it!") and Wii is something you hire a guy to do on you from a shady wet works website.
<-< That last one was oddly specific......

Saying I support one more than the other implies that I look down on the other choices. I don't. I'm a PC gamer because I like gaming on the platform. That and the majority of games I play are only on PC anyway.

I'm more of a PC-with-handhelds guy; I've got my gaming PC which runs all the high end stuff and then a 3DS and Vita for JRPG's and older remakes on PSN and the 3DS store. I do also own a PS2, Xbox 360 and Gamecube though so I'm not tied to one specific manufacturer. If microsoft released an Xbox handheld, and it was worth the price, I'd probably pick that up too.

I'm kind of stuck between a few of them. I could say PC because I'm in the process of building my first, but at the same time I've yet to actually do any gaming on the PC. I could say Nintendo because I plan on buying a Wii U as soon as I'm done building a PC. I could say Sony because I've owned a PS1, PS2, and PS3, and enjoyed my time spent on those consoles.
I'm stuck between choosing the one I believe I'll have the most varied experience on, the one with games I'm looking forward to, and the one I've already had lots of fun with. The only one I can be sure of not picking is Microsoft with the Xbox One.

I played PC games most of my life but I switched over to Playstation because I like to keep my work and games separate.
Same here, I played Age of Empires 1 & 2, Age of Mythology, Star Wars: Battlegrounds, Star Wars: Jedi Knight II, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Sim City, The Sims, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Monkey Island 1-through-4, Desperados, Commandos, Max Payne 2 and god knows how many other games on the PC. But at the end of the day I always preferred throwing myself on the couch/bed/floor and game on a big ass screen with my sister playing co-op by my side. Beat struggling over the keyboard with Player #2 every day of my life. To this day I segregate work to my computer and choose the console/bed/wireless/big screen option.

Probably Sony, then PC, Xbox, Sega and Nintendo.

Why that order? I remember so many good games on Ps1, 2 and 4, that it kinda feels no contest. Sure, the other's have good games, but they're generally more limited. Especially Nintendo. (Oh good another Mario.)

While I think PC is part shit for being absolutely frustrating to just get working half the time, all the other cool stuff it can do redeems it.

Xbox had a good one, and still has neat things. It get's a lot of points for how much time i've spent playing my 360 with friends.

Sega has systems once. And they were generally my childhood. While most games can be emulated on other systems now... Nothing'll beat that first playthrough of Skies of Arcadia.

Nintendo. Sure, got classics, but a bit limited in what good games they dish out. Sure, consistent with what they got, but... lacks variety. Also the motion control thing absolutely destroyed most of my good will for them. THe damned thing doesn't work well, even with it's motion plus crap. It seriously made a Zelda game not fun to play. You dun goofed.

Mostly Sony at the moment. I used to play a lot of games on the PC, but since that broke I got a laptop (makes it easier for University) which is absolutely terrible for playing games. Really going to have to save up until I can afford a decent gaming desktop.

For handheld consoles, Nintendo by far. One of the first gaming consoles I ever had was the Gameboy, then the Gameboy Colour and the Gameboy Advance and I briefly used the Nintendo DS. There was a long time where I dabbled with the PSP, but once Nintendo started releasing Monster Hunter on its consoles/handhelds then I quickly switched back to Nintendo and the 3DS.

All of the above as well (well, except for PC but even PC I game on a bit)

Each generation, a new champion seems to be crowned in the fight for my gaming habits.

NES was victorious in my 1st gen
SNES was victorious in my 2nd gen (I did have a Genesis though)
PS1 was victorious in my 3rd gen (I did have a N64 though)
PS2 was the clear victor in my 4th gen (I did have a Xbox and Gamecube though)
360 was the clear victor in my 5th gen (I do have a PS3 though)
??? will be the victor soon...

That doesn't even take into consideration that I've had each Nintendo handheld system at some point (though my 3DS collects an awful lot of dust sitting there).

As for this generation, it's going to take time to see. Microsoft blew their freaking leg off before the race started but they've slowly been building back up since then. Nintendo is far back in the pack to be considered (though it's likely whichever wins between Microsoft/Sony, a Wii U may sneak in anyway). Hell, if none of the systems impress me, I may even...*shudder....become a PC gamer.

If you put a gun to my head and forced me to declare my allegiance to one and only one right now, it'd have to be Sony. Their future and the PS+ program looks much more appealing to me than sticking with Microsoft.
Oh man, my 1st gen would be a Commodore 64. An Apple IIgs and Genesis then back to pcs for the rest. I do have all of Nintendo consoles since the 64 and a Xbox and 360. Not even considering a PS4 or Xbox 1. There doesn't seem to be anyone making a reason to buy either.

Technically PC since I don't own a console any more, but the instant a game I really want comes out I'm picking one up. There just hasn't been an exclusive that's made me say "must have" yet.

I don't really play favourites. If you've got a game I want and you aren't being a dick about it I'll buy your shit. Having said that If you've ever experienced PC gaming you become enlightened to the wonders of non-peasantry. It's great.

PC person. I find it is superior to all others, mainly because of all the capabilities.
Also Nintendo, because the exclusives are worth it.

I love my Vita, but I primarily use my PC. The array of strategy titles available exclusively to the PC, along with additional modding and graphics settings for the games that aren't exclusive, made my PC well worth the ~£100 more I spent on it than I would have a console. Of course, tallying up great game sales for games I would have been buying for £50 on console, I've already recouped that cost.
Also the satisfaction of building a PC and the confidence that this generates when dealing with PC's generally is amazing.

PC because you're free to use the software, components, and peripherals that you like. Nothing is forced down your throat. You get mods, visual fidelity, and multi-tasking. Amazing backwards compatibility, and not just more games but also more good games. Emulators are just icing on the cake. Better exclusives as well as superior cross-platform games (even the sloppy Dark Souls 1 PC port turned out to be the best version of the game). The PC is a better platform, but not in the often joked about "glorious master race" way. It's just better, matter-of-factly.

PC for cheap games and modding joy.
You can't beat PC for cheap games, but PS3 and Wii games are very cheap. If you have Sony Plus, you get free games a lot. But modding? I don't think that is possible on console. I can't imagine playing Skyrim on console. On PC, I had much better graphics and mods made it a blast. I could up my stats, or just have the Death Star rather than a moon in the sky.

Next to PC though, this generation, the Wii U is offering the best surprises as a console. A lot of fun and very different. I haven't seen anything on the PS4 yet to distinguish it.

Unless you're buying the consoles and games to legally use emulators (or you are buying games requiring emulation from a legal storefront), such usage is illegal.
