I think it's safe to say that we are all scared of death. I don't care what religion you are part of or what you believe in, death is the ultimate unknown. It's human nature to fear the unknown.
But I also think that it would completely depend on the situation in which I dying. If I was going down epic save the world style then no, death wouldn't really scare me. But if I was being chased by(insert scary person here) or Michael Jackson then yes, I'd be very very scared. I used to stay up all night contemplating death ( i was like, 6 i think) but it's so pointless now that I wanna just scream. Death is Not what you perceive it to be. It's death. not god. Death is the extinguishing of life. As for what happens after, nobody knows. If we did, nobody would be afraid. I hope there's soup after death. I like soup.

I'll probably end up taking myself out one day so I'd have to say no, though if I fall in front of a train or something I'll probably void my bowels before I die (yes). This makes me think "Am I afraid of death or trains?" and it's probably trains.

Yes, because as much I as I hope it isn't, I know that it is in all certainty the absolute end of me. And I like being me :D

It won't end you being you, it'll just end you being you any longer. You'll still have been you, previously, but not currently.

Am I afriad of death? No.

Am I afriad what will happen to me after I die? YES.

The question of 'what happens when you die?' is still a mystery to the world to this day. Some say you die and be reborn as a tree ( no thanks) some say that you go to heaven or hell. (Uh, I saved my cousin from drowning when I was young, so maybe God will give me a break for my laziness...hopefully.) And some people beleive you'll be reborn as a baby again.

I'm kinda rooting for the latter.

I say kinda, because as much as I like to be reborn a human again. I wouldn't necessarily want to be reborn on THIS planet again. I'd want to be reborn on an alternate world. New stuff, and different things.

Its kinda out there I know. But whos to say this idea is false?

Yes, but that still means I will be unable to continue being me, which I don't want to happen.

I was having a similar conversation with a friend of mine about a month ago. Neither of us are afraid of death. It's fun to be alive and the longer that can last (with us being able, of course) the better. However we did conclude that the day would come when that thing above our eyes would shut down for good and we could finally stop stressing or thinking so much and just rest. You know how the saying goes 'you'll sleep when you're dead'.

I am more afraid of the thought of dying alone with nobody who loved me than of death itself. It is a natural event and has to happen eventually. Why be afraid of it?

What? No of course not.
Death is my best buddy and would never come for me.
He does owe me $50. though...
