"Tyler Durden: First you have to give up, first you have to *know*... not fear... *know*... that someday you're gonna die. "
But that said- I don't particularly fear death. The manner of my life and death, these are things I care about, but the fact that I'm going to die? No. Everyone does, eventually.

It depends... I'd definitely die fast in say, an airplane crash at 70 years old, than go slowly with cancer or something. But the afterlife theories are just so freaky. I ponder afterlives so much.

Yes. I have an instinctive fear of death. So does everyone else and anyone who denies it will realize it when they see death approaching on swift steed. That is all.

I do not fear anything I cannot change; death is an inevitable part of life. I see no reason to fear it; just one more thing I intent to make a hell of an impact on because when I do something, I go for the jackpot. Death by explosion at age 100+ baby! :p

Seriously though, not in the least. It'll happena and that is all.

Not really. Sure, I guess in the face of the Grim Reaper I'll instinctively run like hell away from it, but as of right now? Naw, I'm not afraid of it at all. I'd be more concerned of the people who will grieve for me once I'm gone.

as long as i am killed in battle or at least am not laying alone in a bed with nobody nearby. not really concerned by death, after all it's just a matter of time anyway. one final experience to put away on the shelf.

after all, life is conflict so to die in one is the epitome of the fulfillment of life.

I hope to die in my sleep.
While dreaming of heaven =p.
I would, if I was religious.
You don't need to be to imagine.

Ever watch "What Dreams May Come"? Basically each individual is the author of their afterlife, with the ability to network with other created 'heavens'.

That idea always stuck with me of how it should be.
I haven't seen that, but it sounds quite good.

I used to be totally cool with dying. I was like "Hey, if life is this great, imaging how awesome death will be!" but then PurpleRain messed everything up. Now I don't want to die anytime soon, because I don't want to miss out on any time with him, and I don't want him to have to mourn me. I'm afraid of it for those reasons though, not that I fear what will happen to me.

I used to be scared dumb about death, but then i learned to accept it and spent a year or two blissfully free of fear.. but then i found someone to live for, so now im stuck awkwardly in the middle.

Death is only what you perceive it to be.
thats true about alot of things.

I don't fear death in fact I look forward to it,living is a pain, you have to eat, sleep, work in order to stay alive and its only the little bits inbetween that are even worth it but when I die, hopfully I won't go to any afterlive,I just want to be left alone, dead,no thoughts no movement, just dead, plain ol dead.

Nope, because deep down I really believe that I'm immortal, if not though quite alot of people have died before me and many will die afterwards. What happens after that happens, it is after all the next big adventure

I'm not too sure, of course I know I will eventually die, as does everything. It's a tricky question, I participate in the dangerous discipline of parkour(not saying it's more perilous than other activities, just saying it is dangerous) and I know that it increases my chances of fatal injury and I accept that it may eventually take my life. I don't FEAR death but nor do I welcome it, I don't think about fatalistic scenarios during my day. If I die, I die, thinking about won't postpone it nor will it make it more pleasant, if i know the eventual date of my demise I'm not going to mope around writing sad poems, I'm gona fucking live it up.

I went through the whole "Holy fuck I'm going to die one day" thing when I was nine, and still stay with I thought up then, there's two things that can go wrong and they're both unlikely so I got over it.

I fear death. I hate death. I work to circumvent death. Day and night, i dream of a way to make our telomeres immortal. So that we stay immortal. Dont worry about population, we'll just set a rule to kill the parents after the kid reaches 25 years old. It's killing two birds with one stone really. It means you'll really love the child and the overpopulation problem is solved.

I laugh in death's face. Death barely even phases me. Admittedly if my whole family died right now, I wouldn't care much.
There's not being afraid and there's needing psychiatric help.
Good job rubbing out that line, spitting on the part you didn't rub out, and then running away in "ooh-I-did-a-bad-thing" glee.

Christ, that was odd, wasn't it?

As for my opinion on the subject? I've occasionally been petrified at the thought, but mostly make do representing it as something abstract.

Of course I'm afraid of death, that's why I'm still alive. I think that being afraid of death helps you live life more fully.

Still I don't think it's a question we can honestly answer, since death isn't staring us in the face. I'm sure we all at least vaguely recognize that we're going to die someday, but we don't honestly contemplate the fact that it could happen at any moment.

Maybe it's like when you procrastinate: you can put something off for another day, but know you'll do it eventually, but when the deadline is looming you get freaked out. Or maybe that's just me.

I've had to face the possibility that I would die in the next six months, then I had to form an opinion.(No, I didn't have cancer.)

No, I'm not afraid of death. I'm afraid of the pain. Also, if you've never lost a lot of blood before or had your blood pressure drop 60 points in an hour, avoid it at all costs. Your body saves the worst sensations of all for that occurrence, if you don't go unconsciousness, which I never did.
