In a sense yes. I'm afraid of leaving this with too many regrets, but right now I'm 17 and considered stupid in terms of life wisdom, so I don't blame myself. Probably when I'm 70 and can barely walk/can't wipe myself/have some other disability or are just plain sick of others and of life I might give you a different answer.

I'm terrified of dying.. That's not to say that I'm not willing to die for my beliefs or to protect something. But where I live its a real concern being caught by a stray bullet of being caught between 2 groups. I'm freaking TERRIFIED of dying a pointless death.

Not afraid of death. Afraid of the repercussions my death will have on my loved ones.
That 100% I don't care about dying, the thing that scares me is how the people who love me will handle it, especially if I died during difficult times (par example my death in the middle of a financial crisis) I'm terrified of leaving if my family isn't looked after for a good long while.

if everything is peachy at home.... then bring it on! My favourite quote about this is from Gladiator: "Death smiles upon us all... All we can do is smile back"

No.

I believe I'll go to heaven and spend eternity there. If my beliefs are right, then I will. If I believe the wrong thing, guess I'll spend eternity in some form of hellhole. If they're all wrong, I won't be around to realize it. I've made my choice of faiths, and I'll deal with the consequences when I kick the bucket.

I believe in God, so no, but I certainty wouldn't welcome it at this age, I still have to much to do / experience

But if I die, Hello Heaven!

And what if heaven isn't real I hear you say? Well, I'll be dead. If heaven isn't real I wont be experiencing anything after death, it's not like I will be conscious to regret anything so..
But if you believe in heaven then you must also believe in hell . Wouldn't it be a shame to think all this time you will enter the pearly gates and get refused access?
Yes well, I'm not exactly raping, stealing and murdering my way through life.
To get into heaven you need to do good deeds right? Everything I work towards is to get into heaven, it's the whole reason I even try at school, and whole reason why I want to get into med school. Do good things, get into heaven. Simple.
So your entire reason for being a good person is because you fear exclusion from heaven, or retribution by God?

Congratulations, you are now edgy. And a shining example of someone with no morality.
How do I have no morality? And alright, alright, maybe it isn't the entire reason. Do you ever get this warm, fuzzy feeling inside you when you help someone out? I guess that comes into it as well.

Forgive me for being cynical, but isn't that a bit selfish of you?
Not really, I just am focused on the end game, so to speak. The whole helping people / warm fuzzy feeling / charity thing comes in between.

I love life; so yes.

Also to be frank MOST people who voted no I refuse to believe you. I know it's 'cool' or 'tough' to be that guy but if I held a gun to your head I'm pretty sure you'd be afraid, and their is nothing wrong with that; there is far more wrong with being empty that death isn't an issue to you.

I say MOST because some people have either been very close to and made their peace or simply have no care for this world or some other legitimate reason.
