All in all yes, but on the other hand I really don't give a flying frack for most multiplayer achievements so I never reached my 100% goal anywhere.
No even in RDR where I had about 88% trophies including every single SP and the easier MP ones but I will never ever "have 3 consecutive victories in gang matches" or whatever that one is about.

I am also lazy and if a game feels repetitive I won't replay it ten times just to get every trophy.

Indeed I am a trophy whore, but a peculiar one. I will play games for enjoyment and try mediocre games for the trophies (and sometimes, enjoyment). Occasionally I will go to great lengths to obtain the majority of trophies in a game... and let it sit at a 90%+ completion grade without getting that almighty plat. In Dragon Age Origins, for instance, I hold 99% trophy acquisition - all DLC trophies and all but two core game trophies. That last bronze is a doozy, though, as I have to experience all endings the game has. Another 20+ hrs of gameplay for a plat? Nope.

I currently sit at Lv. 25 and probably have one of the lowest Platinum totals for my level on the leaderboards. Still, I'm after game experiences as well as trophies. Will I alter my playthrough approach to suit trophy requirements? Sure. Will I obsessively hit that 100% mark? Very, very rarely.

Kinda.
In some games, I just go nuts over the achievements and won't stop till I have them.
Other games, I go for the achievements, but later change my mind because the game either have mindbogglingly many achievements (TF2) or have absurd requirements (TF2).

And others I just don't care about.

YES!!! BY GOOD CRAZY GONADS, I suppose you could say that. Although I will personally veto against insanely difficult achievements like the Rocket and Aperture Science Achievements. Or some of the TF2 achievements that are just impossible to get any other way then by coincidence or luck, like fraging 3 players at once with one rocket.

That said, if there are any achievements I think I can get I will go after them. But I wonder whether achievements are necessarily a good thing. Especially if the player is distracting themselves away from the game. Someone could undermine the experience of playing a game through the first time, (like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, if they are constantly worrying whether or not they've accidentally killed a non-boss character, and ruined their chances of unlocking the Pacifist achievement... a lot of saving and loading... lots and lots.)

I did get 32 Steam Summer Camp Achievements. Didn't win anything, but I used all my tickets on stuff I actually had the game for, before the summer sales too. So I didn't spend any money on games I wasn't interested in (or wasn't going to play after the sale) just so I could get a few more tickets, then I would consider it a problem.)

If I've come to a game and played it an realise at the end of it, I'm only four achievements away from 100% (and they're not too difficult to achieve with the help of some youtube tutorials, then I'll definitely have to do try.)

I'll get achievements if they sound like a fun challenge that explores more of the games content, and not like tedious 'gotta catch 'em all' work for which I could do in RL and get paid for.

Achievements are nice, and the achievement sound on the Xbox is actually very satisfying, and some achievements pose a nice challenge to those willing to try. Tirelessly hunting down all the achievements just feels like robbing a game of all its fun. I don't really NEED to get all those achievements so why should I spend hours and hours on getting one?

The only time I ever spent hours doing anything for achievements was the Scarab Gun in Halo 2, and even then it wasn't a real "achievement," the only thing you could do was brag about how you totally got it that one time.

I used to be back when I could rent a game for a week for 10 bucks, Id try to bore it out of sweet tasty cheevo's.

Or if the achievement unlocks something, or is important to me, I.e. 7 day survivor in dead rising 1 where midway through my grandfather left the door open and my dog escaped running into traffic and all over the place.

Or if the achievement is hard to do, but not arbitrarily hard. Like kill 100,000 guys, where they only throw like 20 at you per level, or beat the game on insane, but it?s just monster closets and the game cheats.

My friends call me a trophy whore but i disagree.

If i'm enjoying the game and get 90% of the trophies in my first playthrough (Mass Effect 2) because i'm enjoying it enough to try everything then i may as well get that Platinum if it's easy.

As another friend said; "He's not a trophy whore, he's just good at games!"

Nope, I'm not an achievement whore. I have never exchanged sexual favours for gamerscore.
You mean I can do that?

No. But, after I finish a game, I sometimes pick a random achievement and go for it. I'm currently doing the Transmission Recieved achievement in Portal, also, getting the more difficult achievements in Atom Zombie Smasher, and almost have the One Week achievement in Garrys Mod.
I am the same way

Problem with most game achievements, they reward repetitious activity that isn't necessarily fun or the Achievement is some retarded series of "fetch quests".

Is it necessary to have these do-dads to collect, starts, dog tags, flags, coins or what ever. Who care?!

Game developers if you are going for achievements put in achievements that are fun and not a chore to do. Complaining Chapter 5 in the game story is a achievement, mastering the item creation system is a achievement, pulling off a 60 hit combo in a fighting game is an achievement.

I voted no because nowadays I actually measure the fun factor and time required to get a trophy to see if it would be worth it before I bother trying to go after. After collect all the feathers in AC 2, I can't be bothered to do anything similar to it in a game ever again unless there is an in game reward that might make it worthwhile. Something more than a trophy/achievement.
For instance, the Auditore Family Cape.

I have only 100% completed games I love. I may do it for Bioshock, or AC2 (because I'm damn close), and definitely will for Fallout 3, but I don't know if I ever will in the Saints Row games. I have in New Vegas (all the DLC even), Oblivion, and Monkey Island 2. And there's an amazing amount of finality to that. :D

If the answer for you is no, I want to know why you don't see the point in getting 100% completion out of a game when you've paid for it.
Two reasons:
1. Some achievements are outrageously stupid.
2. Some achievements are multiplayer only, and I could care less about multiplayer, especially on consoles (actually, multiplayer only could fall under "outrageously stupid", too).

I guess kinda I like to 100% games but I do draw the line on some trophies such as those for playing online or some that seem really boring usually collection based trophies but I have gotten 100% on quite a few of the games I own.

Why get 100% when I paid for it? Because there are more valuable things in life, like time. And if I'm not enjoying the experience why would I waste my limited time on it? If you bought a loaf of bread, would you eat it even after it had gone off just to get your money's worth?

If the achievement's fun and I have time to waste, I'll go for it. But I will no longer, (because I once did), keep playing beyond the point of enjoyment for something I know will mean nothing to me a five years time.

I don't go for achievements because they don't actually add anything to the game experience. Most achievements are for things you would do anyway or are just for making the game seem like it has more to do in it. My time too valuable to waist collecting some pointless knick-knacks.

No I'm not nuts about it but If I think an achievment will make a game more challenging or fun I will do it.

For example I am doing the pacifist run through on Give me Deus Ex difficulty. I think I have screwed up the no alarm one by saving Malik though.
