No. I'm as flat chested as a 13 year old boy. I'd love a B or a C cup, but I can't hold onto weight.
i really don't get the female obsession with boobs. sure as a general rule the average guy may prefer a larger bust but there are plenty of guys out there that either don't care or prefer something a bit more compact and efficient.
me personally i'm about an A to B but the single most important thing is that whatever their size they are natural. fake boobs may not be unattractive but the concept of a woman not having the self esteem to accept who she is is very unappealing to me.
also bonus you prolly won't have boob related back problems down the track

Some girls should be comfortable shooting for 30-35%, other should be comfortable shooting for 10-15%.
anything less than 17% body fat for a woman is actually considered in the danger zone. at that point you are likely to stop menstruating and could potentially suffer bone and tissue damage

Which one am I? I don't know what my actual percentage is. I'm about six foot tall and weigh about 100kg (or 220lb). Going by those pictures I look about... oh, fuck it all, might as well be honest... I look like the 30% guy, except with a bit less spare tyre and a bit more man boob.

Am I happy with it? Fuck no.

How would I like to look? Well... I would kill to look like Mr 25%. I don't feel any need to look like an underwear model, I just want to look acceptable and healthy.

How does society tell me I should look? Anywhere between Mr 10-12 and Mr 25, I guess. Depends who you ask. Apparently men don't cop the body image barrage as hard as women.

As for the ladies, I'm liking 20% through 35%. Although I certainly wouldn't kick Miss 12-17% out of bed, but I would buy her steaks and cheesecakes until I couldn't see her ribcage any more. Also, I think Miss 35% looks very attractive. Not averse to a bit of plumpness, not at all.

PS.

Sooo... Are fat threads the new thing on the Escapist? :p

I'm a guy, and I'm probably in the 10%-12% range, though I need to get a bit more muscle before I look like that (I'm so skinny, when I suck my stomach in, I can put my fingers under my ribcage. ) I'm not a healthy weight, but that kinda goes with the territory for having Chrones Disease and super fast metabolism.

Also, that first picture: Good God!

As for the 2nd question.... Eh.... Probably 25%

True, but you'll recognise that most shirts, most dresses, most clothing in general is constructed for some sort of bust. It isn't a self esteem issue, and certainly isn't for any men. I just would prefer to fill out my clothing a bit more, for my own aesthetics.

Well my one true goal in life is to look like the Hollowed from Dark Souls, so naturally my goal is 3-7% body fat!
Currently I guess I'm around 20% so I've got plenty of work to do!

I'm a female around the low 30%s, but thanks to my hideously short torso, my body's areas of weight gain are nowhere near as flattering as the supplied image. I guess I'm more like a slightly flabbier version of the 25% girl, but more athletic everywhere else. I've been working out a few times with a trainer for about a year and a half, and while I've gotten in great shape, I don't think I'll ever feel confident in a bathing suit D:

You don't want to be less than 10% body fat, that's part of what killed Bruce Lee.
Wut?

Bruce Lee died from an allergic reaction to some painkillers that were prescribed for his friend, it had nothing to do with his life style.

Ah, we meet again... concerning this topic.

Male, and at 15% I'd say. I'm totally happy with my image, and not because society says it's how I should look; it just feels right. I'm not burdened by physical restrictions due to weight (although you could be fairly heavier than me and still say the same thing), and that's honestly the real appeal.

And the 3-4% picture is sure to give me nightmares for some days to come. Just.. how? Why? ...Why?

I'd like to say I'm at the 35%, but truth be told I'm hovering somewhere between the 35% picture and the 40% picture.

I used to be the 25% pic guy when I was at my absolute most fit, so I guess ideally I'd aim for somewhere between there and 30%. It would take a lot of work, though; there's a reason I'm fat, and it's because I've got nobody to impress and no reason to be healthy.

I'm between 15 and 20%, but I'm not done growing yet and I have a large amount of muscle mass. Truth be told, I'd like to be leaner as I continue onto bench pressing cars and eating steel nails for post workout meals.

No. Essential fat levels for women are about 10-13%. 17% is well clear of the danger zone.

I think I'm around the 25% at the moment, I'd prefer to drop to nearer 20%.

As for what I'd prefer in women, I'd say the 30% one is the most atractive.

I'm around the 20-25% zone. I'm okay with it I suppose. Weight hasn't really been an issue for me.

I guess I could go with 15% but meh. I don't know why, but it just doesn't feel right with me to have that as my body type. I don't know what that says about what society wants me to be, but that sure says something about me and society... I'm not sure what, but it's certainly saying it. :p

As for the bonus preference question, anywhere between the 25% and the 40%. Although that doesn't mean I would mine anything lower than 25% or higher than 40% mind you.

Male, around 20%, depending on an angle :p
Also anything between 17% and 35% is my preferred female body.

Edit: oh and I want 15% as a male, getting there slowly, although my gf hates it.

I am actually underweight, unwillingly. I am still growing and it seems like anything I eat is used to increase my length. I don't eat very healthy and I sit at the computer pretty much, relative to how much I exercise, but I can't seem to gain any weight. I've stayed the same weight for about a year and honestly it's bothering me. I'm pretty strong, but I can't say it's good for my self esteem to see the guys in my class with well-defined arms and look at myself who's skinny all over.

A man, probably about 15%, although I have significantly less muscle than the guy in that picture. I'm not sure if I'm happy with my body; I have a 28-inch waist, which I guess is good, but there are still a couple of areas with a bit more fat that I'd like, and I'd like a bit more muscle. To be honest, I don't know what society is telling me to look like. If it is telling me something, I clearly haven't been listening.

I guess with women I'd find anywhere between 17%-35% attractive, but I suppose it depends from person to person. Different body types carry weight in different areas.

Male. Somewhere around 8% body-fat. Used to be 5%, so be glad.

I also totally have those muscles shown in those pictures. For real. I swear.

People should aim for that 12-15% mark, for that healthiness and ease of maintenance. This is what it should be for males.

Not bad, I guess.

Also, I don't know why 20-30% is the ideal body for a woman. The 15-17% picture looks way better.
It's a health thing. It needs to be a certain level to maintain a certain physiological balance involving cell signals and such.

OT: I checked my body fat level 2 days ago and it told me I had a little below 9%. A few months ago I was around 7 so I would like to get down to at least 8. I have been sick lately so I think that might be related. Also I don't have the genes to get proper abs, mine are barely visible despite my low body fat.
