Nope.

I owned Halo 2, but someone else bought it for me and it was dreadful(ly generic). I only played it a couple of times I think.

Then all the Halo 3 reviews roll in and everyone rolls around in pure glee that it's exactly the same as Halo 2. And I'm pretty sure they said that about Halo 2 for it's reviews. You see where this is going.

No, seeing as I do not own the console.

I only have an outsider's interest in the series anyway. If I play a game, I want something more than just the same regurgitated mechanics and scenarios that are stagnating the market.
yeah, stagnating feature like forge world and theater and custom games, and this is especially angering since bungie is stepping away from halo after this

pay no attention to how there is one Call of Duty a year

Yes, if nothing else to just get away from the god awful cesspool Modern Warfare 2 has become.
Bad Company? Mostly comprised of serious gamers.
Indeed, that is very true, the only thing that really keeps me on MW2 these days is that the majority of my friends have it as well and play regularly, which is just about better than going solo on BF.

I'm hoping to win a Halo: Reach limited edition console. Since I don't own any gaming system due to unfortunate circumstances, I'm praying to break back into the world of console gaming.

I've played all of the Halos, found them to be fun, and will buy Reach when BlazBlue starts causing me to bash my head into a wall.
Unlimited Hazama on Ragna's arcade (I had beaten story mode, bested the first game's horribly overpowered Hakuman on the same character's arcade after several, several tries on the first day playing, and beaten the first games' true ending, all on normal, and yet he was the guy the finally made me change settings to one match) and trying to pull off the astral finish for bang in challenge mode did that for me, but I don't play too many fighting games and don't own a joystick so maybe it's a different story for me.

Anyways, I finally caved, if only because I remember how not buying ODST (though I'm glad I got it as a gift, bought at less than $30 by the giver, given the length) and Mass Effect 2 (that however was worth it) on release and realized that I'd just be seeing it around until it finally broke me down, so why prolong it?

That, and I actually sort of like Halo. No it isn't the "greatest game evar," and each one has given me at least one disappointment, but it isn't a horrible game series (well, I'd have to say 2 came pretty close to that though).

Yup, I actually love the casual yet occasionally challenging gameplay of the halo series. I don't know what it is, but they somehow found a good balance.

Edit: Ahh, you again...

Halo was the first game series I fell in love with, so of course.

I enjoyed the beta, and will be buying Leg edition.

Didn't buy Halo Wars, the demo was kinda dull.
Don't buy the legendary edition new. Look at the cost of previous legendary editions on ebay. It's not a remotely wise investment. Buy the standar game at launch, and the legendary 6 months down the line, when it's $30 on ebay. Then sell the original game for $15-20. Meaning, you get all the legendary stuff for $10 over the standard cost. And, it's not like you are going to use the extras that come with the legendary pack in the next 6 months. Probably not enough to justify the insane premium, anyway.
that's interesting considering how halo 3 is still $80 plus on ebay
Sorry, I was just translating uk prices. You can buy it new for $70 here. I assumed ebay would retail at less than half this price, but for some reason it's about $60 on average. However, consider halo 3 standard still sells at $15-$20, it equates to a real cost of $40. Factor in the $60 original standard-game cost, and you're paying $100, or around a $100 saving over the new price.

Here's five short words that will clear up why I don't care about any of those features:

I do not play multiplayer.

ODST is a better buy at this point.
Saves you $40 in map packs

Where's the "I'm only buying Reach for the improved Forge" Option? etc etc.
Right here. As a good friend of mine is an almost disturbingly hardcore fanboy of Halo (he admits it too) is buying me a copy AND giving me his old XBox (My second one kicked it) since he is buying the special edition one. It will keep me entertained until F:NV at least.

It's actually looking pretty good... but I'll have to see for myself before I go out and buy it. The community is what turned me off Halo 3, and I'm pretty sure it will be the exact same.

Though I heard there was a new engine that they were running it on which is very good news. Plus the needler rifle... and the fact that you can get banned for rage quitting and mic spamming. We'll have to see how this plays out because as of right now it's looking pretty good. But I'm not getting too excited over it because all of my excitement is concentrated into Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, Fallout New Vegas, and Gears of War 3. And Metal Gear Solid: Rising... and the Sly Collection... and Portal 2 and inFamous 2 and Twisted Metal and Bulletstorm and Crysis 2 and Dead Space 2...

Well, given that I'm more of a single player gamer...and that horrifying realisation that I was about to complete ODST the day after buying it...I think I'll probably just rent it and see how I get on. I don't have high hopes though given the single player of Halo 2, 3 and ODST.

Nothing, having a bit of fun by adding a little edit to posts i make on various forums to make people go "hang on, is he talking about me" and seeing if they ask about it.

Occasionally I get really really angry replies, it makes me laugh. Either way, nothing to worry about :p

Yeah, most of my live friends are morons. I socialise outside and go solo on xbox. I get a bunch of friends round if I want to socialise while playing games.

That's a shame, do you lack friends to play with? The experience of gaming is better for human interaction regardless of what yahtzee or anyone else says. Yes story is very important and is what will elevate gaming to the level of art but nothing can compare to sharing an experience with another human being. Sure silent hill 2 was great but do I really want to play it for months? no.

Because of multiplayer a game can be fresh and enjoyable years after release because of the human factor.
