Poll: Are you celebrating Valentines Day or Single Awareness Day?

With a well known day coming up tomorrow there is going to be a big divide of activites. Singles and couples will be celebrating either Valentines Day or Single Awareness Day, or maybe neither.

Personally I am celebrating Single Awareness Day, it won't really bug me because I can celebrate it with all my other single friends. Our plan: movies, airsoft, and video-games; not bad at all. =) Only Con would be seeing couples would remind me of how my now ex-girlfriend dumped me right before New Year's...


What about you fellow Escapists? What are you doing on February 14? How do you feel? Lovestruck? Sad? Don't care?

EDIT: Just some things to note after seeing some responses-
1) (S.A.D.) Is not just saying "oh I'm single, alone, and sad about having no-one, fuck Valentines Day!" It's about enjoying the day for yourself or with other singles rather than being depressed.

Right now, I'm in the middle. I want to be celebrating Valentine's day, but might end up with Single Awareness day. All depends on why happens in the next...6 hours. I'll update this post soon.

Valentine's day for me, although me and the girlfriend won't have too much time together because we're both working. Doesn't bother me too much though as we'll still have a few hours after we both finish.

Honestly, I've never heard of 'single awareness day'.

To me, it's a day like any other, regardless of whether I'm single or not. Why should there be one particular prescribed day where we have to show someone that we love them? That should happen every day.

Neither. I will be doing exactly the same thing I normally do. Game for 8 hours straight (get drunk if it's a Saturday) until 3 in the morning then sleep through until 12.

My opinion, valatines day nice if you want to do something nice for your partner or to get someone to fall in wuv w/you but as a single, I think it´s a stupid overcommercialized holliday.

I didn't even know the second one was a thing.
I'm not really going to celebrate Valentine's day, I never do, and I don't know anything about that other one, so I'm not going to celebrate either.

I definitely agree, but some people like doing stuff like this. Personally, I just find it as an ordinary day with amusing circumstances.

There's a single awareness day?

My country has two valentine's day about one week apart from each other. If I actually focused on what holidays are going on around me, I'd end up being sick from over intoxication to pink lollipops and red heart all throughout February.

Also I have an exam exactly on Valentine's so there's not much rejoicing. I'll probably even forget what day it is.

Also i'll be celebrating desperation day (feb 13th) in a last ditch attempt to help my friend find a girl to wake up with tomorrow.

Valentines day, but we never really do anything big. We wanted to go for a picnic, but given that it's February we're just gonna picnic on the floor of our lounge instead

I plan to spend a large chunk of the day just talking to somebody who lives too far away to see right now, and it's her birthday on the 15th. Whether or not that makes dedicating a whole day of talking to her a valentines thing or a birthday thing is anybodies guess really.

Teens seem to be really into Valentine's day around here, but adults usually don't care or do anything special. As for me, no girlfriend, plus I am still on my mandatory military service and I am on guard duty Monday and Tuesday, so I'll be spending it inside, patrolling the barracks, doing whatever other work needs to be done and struggling to find a couple of hours here and there to take naps.
