Okay, some facts about the Big Daddy you play: You can do everything Jack could do, BUT MORE. You can still use Plasmids, even mixing them with other Plasmids, you can use them in combination with your weapon, and you can upgrade them to different types. Example: The first level of Incinerate would work the same as Bioshock, the second level would be some kind of Fireball, and the last would basically be a heat-ray.

Stop whining about being a Big Daddy, at least they're taking a chance and trying something new on this, unlike games that pump out the same damn formula over and over again.

Plus: The Little Sister "harvesting" sessions if you choose to Adopt aren't like the sequence in the first, instead of the Little Sister dying, it just gets interrupted if the Splicer gets near it. This, coupled with the ability to mop down hordes of Splicers, should make the Adopting process a lot easier than in the first.

Am I the only one who notices it's set BEFORE the first? So yeah good story isn't hard with the whole fall of the city thing.

Why do you hate the big daddies anyway? They aren't evil, clearly.

Those jerks! Protecting little girls fom being killed! Anyway from digging around the backstory, the protagonist isn't from rapture, basically the first bunch of little sisters were taken from the surface, and this father happened to witness the taking of his daughter by the Little sister while on the beach. He obsesses over it all so much he uncovers the existence of rapture, makes his way there, and is captured and experimented on.

In this game, in addition to the drill arm, you can use a plasmid for each hand and all the guns you had before.

Part one wasn't my kind of game so I'll be avoiding pt 2, even more so when i saw the multiplayer vid on Live. Looks like a crappy version of Prey's MP, and that was already crappy to begin with.

These threads drive me crazy. How are you to summarily dismiss a game before it even comes out. Give it a rent or Gamefly it and see if you like it. I too was hesitant when I heard that you were a big daddy, i was afraid that the character would be too slow and lumbering. I was also concerned that they would underpower your character or provide cheap gimmicks in the game that result in your big daddy not being nearing the hulk that the other big daddys were.

But to let reservation cloud your opinions of a game before anyone has had opportunity to play it is just foolish.

I am glad they are not continueing the previous game. I want to see more of rapture from a different perspective. Wanna know what the prototype big daddy thinks of the bastardization of his brothers. I am looking forward to this game.

I too am unsure about the MP in this game though, it may be great but my fear is that they tacked it one because everyone else is doing it. Then again setting fellow splicers on fire soulds like fun.

You still can fight other Big Daddys, I believe, and the Big Sister, for sure.

Don't make assumptions until it's released.
Being the thing you try to destroy takes fun out of it. Would you play a shooter where you play as a terrorist? (other than counter strike) plus, no plasmids!
It's been confirmed that you will be able to use plasmids, where have you been? At any rate being a big daddy seems cool if they do it right. By that I mean it's not ridiculously easy. I'm hoping that splicers will still be a credible threat considering your not going to be as well armored as the traditional ones. Also, this won't be a continuation of the first game's plot. Jack will still be alive, it's only been ten years since he escaped with the little sisters. Im not dissapointed at all, but then again it's hard to be dissapointed with a game that's not even out yet.

I was really looking forward to bioshock 2, untill I found out that you play as a big daddy. They were great enemies, but I really don't wanna play as one! I wanted a continuation of the firsts story!
1. WOW what an OP.
2. Back up your opinion
3. ITS NOT EVEN OUT WHY ARE YOU BASHING IT ALREADY
I personally look forward too it. Bioshock was fun but it had terrible gun mechanics and eventually you really just couldn't really use anything besides the shotgun and grenade launcher, oh and the crossbow. The Drill is pretty much a one hit kill on most Splicers i suppose. You have a Rivet Gun. and finally theres more to little sisters than watching the same kill/save animation over and over again.
I'm not bashing it! I'm saying I'm dissapointed with playing as a big daddy! Can't you read?

I've been against BioShock 2 for awhile, personally, I didn't think BioShock's story could go much further. I thought the ending was moot, I was satisfied. Go make SystemShock 3 instead. I also dislike playing as a big daddy, I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that Big Daddy's are basically robots, that everything that makes a human "different" is gone and that their brains are programmed to do only what their creators want them to do. To me, a BD has no free will, and I don't think the game would be very fun to just lumber around and escort little sisters, occasionally bashing someone if they tried to hurt them.

I'll rent it, but I don't like the direction it's going. It's not fair to say I'm "disappointed" with the actual game since I haven't played it, but I am disappointed in the direction it is going. Oh, also, PLEASE make System Shock 3 instead of a BioShock 3. PWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE?

Some parts are disappointing like playing as a Big Daddy, hopefully it's not all bad. I'm still going to buy it and I'm not going to judge until I play it myself.

To be honest, I wasn't that thrilled at the first one. It's a casual game Disguised as a hardcore game. Although I'd still give it an 8.5 out of 10.
What the fuck does that even mean?

Freedom Fighters was good. I also hear good things about Turning Point : Fall of Liberty.

I just can't decide if i'm honest. When the promo site appeared with the evidence from a slightly paranoid photographer/conspiracy nut, i thought that could make a very interesting plot, but nevermind the big daddy may work, the proof of the pudding is in the eating so i am going to wait till i sink my teeth in to the big submerged pudding that is bioshock 2

I can't say I'm disappointed because I haven't played it.

But I have very low expectations. Bioshock 1 had an interesting premise, so far it looks like Bioshock 2 is just milking the same premise without evolving it.

Why don't you wait till you play it before getting all disapointed? Honestly, I wasn't even going to touch Bioshock in the first place because I wasn't into FPS at the time. Turns out I loved it, in fact I'd consider it up there with my top 5 favourite games. But just because I loved the first one doesn't mean I'll like 2, I'm just going to wait and see.

i dont know i havent played it yet.
plus i think that being a big daddy would be pritty cool and it wont be like you having nothing to fear in rapture because of the big sister from what ive seen she looks pritty hard to fight.

I'm a little bit worried, but I'm trying to be open minded. I just hope that the atmosphere and the story will as awesome as the first one. I'm kinda negative at the whole play as a big daddy concept, because I loved the feeling of lonliness and terror of being all alone(kinda) in a haunting place filled with deadly enemies. My point is, that I hope that the big daddy that you play isn't as über as they were in the first one

I wonder how they're going to top the twist in the first one.
it wasn't really Bioshock's twist, it was System shock Two's twist remade. Therefore the creative spark was kind of already gone when Bioshock's twist came around.

You just figured out that you play as a Big Daddy?

And you can't continue from the first story. Jack either died from old age after freeing the Little Sisters or released Splicers into the world.

You can't really go from there...

There was no possible way of continuing the original story, besides, the fact that you play as a big daddy is AWSOME.
