I am going to buy because I never completed it on the original xbox and also I am a shameless Halo fanboy. Are you getting Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary?

I would, but Microsoft hates me for buying Windows 7. I'll just have to settle with a Halo 1 + 2 boxed set off Amazon, and then collapse into fits of nostalgia and joy.

Also, has anyone else noticed an uncanny resemblance between the beginning of Halo 1 and RAGE?

As much as I love Halo and I do, I'm possibly going to skip this.

I was really disappointed that all they really did was just make it pretty and being able to switch the graphics, instead of improving the ai or the gameplay and maybe add a little extras (The rest of the Covenant, more weapons, ect)

Sure the terminals seem awesome but I really expected more from them.

Ehhh, I'm not a Halo fan, so no.

Not much one for FPS games in general. They just aren't my thing. I know my brother will be, though. Because he really is.

Surely you're not going to claim Halo ripped off RAGE? :p

OT: Yes. The original refuses to work properly.

Naw, since I don't particularly like any of the Halo games.
My friend was excited for it, since he's still a regular player of the original on PC and probably counts as a pro. But apparently they've changed too many things so now he doesn't care.

Extra little story for you there, since I didn't know how to make "No, I'm not getting it" any more interesting.

Of course it did! It has guns! It has... erm... shoes! Everyone knows Bungie invented them!

If turns out that they really just added new graphics and left the game otherwise identical, then no, I probably won't pick it up. If they also fixed a few of the original Halo's flaws in the later levels (if you've played it, you know the parts I'm talking about) and added a few new things - even if they're just things from later Halo games like jetpacks and new weapons - then I'll probably buy it eventually.

I really hope they take the opportunity to do some fixing, though. Some of the best games in any given series have been remade titles that fix some flaws and add new content while staying true to the original. Just look at the Resident Evil remake for the GameCube.

Yup.

Bought every version of it so far (Xbox, PC, PCcustom ed)
See no reason to break the habit of a decade.

I just hope 343 haven't ballsed it up, you shouldn't mess with perfection...

Halo was what got me into gaming. I plan on taking a quality vacation through memory lane, and I am glad that the changes to this classic game are minimal. I plan on buying it the day it comes out.

Ummmmmmm, no not really. Aside from the fact that both include waking up from cryogenic storage and a pistol is your first weapon they are quite different.

OT: Yes! Halo CE was my first FPS and I got incredibly into the expanded universe. Though some could argue that Halo CE did age decently the chance to play it again with current gen graphics makes this a definite purchase for me (That and I gave my original xbox and games to my cousin)

I don't have a burning need to run out and get it, especially seeing as how my original copy is still working just fine. I'm one of those strange freaks of nature that plays Halo games for their single player more than multiplayer, so the Xbox Live component of it doesn't really appeal to me (though I do enjoy Firefight).

I might buy it later on when it drops in price.

I'm getting it simply because I never played it (I started playing around Halo 3). I am planning to play in All on the old Graphics to see what it was like 10 years ago.

I haven't made up my mind yet. I'm interested in it for sure, but it all depends on if I have the money handy at the time. I probably won't, so it's likely to get a pass.

No, you can't. CEA's campaign runs on what is more or less Bungie's original engine, with an extra graphical layer by Sabre Interactive on top. While they have modified it to allow for online co-op, it still has a two-player maximum. The competitive multiplayer component is a map pack for Halo: Reach, so that aspect of the game gets theatre and forge.
