There is no category i can pick that suits me. I'm christian so I obviously don't approve but it doesn't matter if your gay or not your still have every chance to go to heaven or hell. Anybody who has a solid understanding of Christianity could tell you this. It's just most people who claim to be christian tend to not to know the first thing. I sound like a Hypocrite don't I?

No, gay people are no different than straight people to me, but, just the incredibly feminine gay men who act more like a woman than me.. tone it down just a little bit, please? I once had a gay friend like that, he was always so dramatic and gossipy, it did annoy me a little bit. But still we were friends till we lost contact when high school came around.

Public making-out sessions are rude, no matter who the person is, the sexuality doesn't matter, nobody wants to see that so please take it somewhere more private, you'll have more fun there and other people can go on with what they want to do.

I won't lie when I say I don't feel 100% comfortable around a gay man/woman. But I don't feel wierded out in any way, shape or form. So no, I'm not homophobic.

As long as they aren't doing anything to me in particular or making others uncomfortable, I'm fine with them.

I like lesbians. Yes I am a male.

I have nothing against either, just please boys, keep it to yourself. I remember this thread where the OP said a gay couple started making out during a movie. Please, keep it to yourself. I hate homophobes, what can they do to you?

Ladies? Be my guest.
So it's OK if, for example, I take my girlfriend out and we make out, but it's not OK if two dudes do the same thing?
It's not okay for anyone to show too much affection in public. I think it's inconsiderate to others who probably don't want to see that.
I thought about going for the "I'd go to war for him, I asked, he told, I'd STILL go to war with him" joke, but I left it alone.

And I have far more respect for people who say "PDA is inappropriate regardless of the genders of the participants" than people who are like "eew, dudes kissing" or "hawt, chicks making out". Apply a consistent standard, please. (although as affectionate as I tend to be, I'd rather it be a standard where people get to be lovey-dovey to each other.)

When I was 15, a gay guy attempted to rape me. He probably should have come armed because barehanded he picked the wrong victim and nearly got himself killed.

For a fair while after that (as in, over a decade) I was a foaming-at-the-mouth crusader that gays were an abomination and blah blah blah hate speech.

Then I got to know one. Thankfully someone told me "keep your fool mouth shut and don't offend this guy" and the someone (my then-girlfriend, who introduced me to him) was someone I didn't want to piss off, so I gave him a fair chance.

That guy is now my closest male friend, a guy I'd go to war with, the guy who singlehandedly turned me from a frothing Republican asswipe into a tireless crusader for equality, because he is just that awesome. And I say that as a guy who's completely straight.

I've met his friends. Met a couple of his lovers, even (a double date with three guys and a girl? Why yes.) And I'm no longer a homophobe. Thanks, Mike.
That's a lot more than most people ever give 'us'. Even if you did it to avoid getting your then-girlfriend mad, you did it. Even after having a gay man try to rape you. Granted, it may have been more traumatic for him, it was still a situation that affected your perception, and opinions.

It's nice to see.

OT - What I hate the absolute most is how it's okay for say... me and another girl to make-out or have sex, but as soon as it's two guys, it becomes disgusting and unacceptable. Don't get me wrong, I understand and respect people not wanting to see two guys make out, as that sort of thing is always best left to a private setting, but I don't believe it's fair to claim to accept it, but only for lesbians, and not homosexuals.

I am in no way encouraging people to show their feelings in public. I'd just rather not see two guys making out. I would also not rather see a couple making out as well. Why? Because you need to think of the children you don't need to. You can always do it sometime else where people aren't around so why do it in public? A harmless kiss I wouldn't mind but please, get a room. Note that I live in NZ. Not common around here.

As I can see, there are two definitions of homophobia:

1) The fear of sexual interaction with the same sex (fear of liking the same).
2) The fear of those who have sexual interaction with the same sex (fear of those who like the same).

Perhaps the first definition is more suiting to the meaning of the word.

I don't like homosexuals if they feel the need to announce it every chance they get.
Otherwise, they don't disturb me in the slightest.
What does that make me?

i wanna know REAL reason why people might be homophobic or not, cause all my friends are stupid.
It's a cultural/evolutionary thing. Things like the Bible being more or less "the List o' Morals" (it would be more accurate to say it's a survival guide for early man) have ingrained a negative opinion of homosexuality in people. In addition, homosexuality does not help propagate the species so we have evolved an instinctual aversion to it.

Things like that are the primary reason there's so much resistance to homosexuality.

My take on it can be summarized as "Whatever floats your boat." It's not my thing, but if someone wants to do it, all the more power to them. It's none of my business.

Edit: I will say that people who deliberately act excessively flamboyant or whatever in order to flaunt their sexuality annoy the shit out of me (just like anyone else who demands attention for a ridiculous reason). It's not a problem with homosexuals so much as the "HEY YOU! I'M GAY! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!" mentality.

No, you just sound like someone who's been forced into a view that you don't sound like you even particularly agree with.

"Early man" came way before the Bible.

OT: Not at all.

And no, there's no "but..." which most people apparently feel the need for. The difference between me and a gay guy is about the difference between me and a guy who likes blondes when I prefer brunettes.

If I was it would be rather awarkward.
Mostly because I never got around to un-fabulousing my Shepard in ME2. Also one of my best friends is homosexual, but still mostly the ME2 thing.

I voted "a little".

I hate people who discriminate against gays and i do treat them as equals, i mean, i have a family member who is gay. Really don't care if someone likes the same gender but I get ever so slightly weirded out when i actually see 2 guys kissing, I don't know why, I just do.
