i tend to think from a scientific point of view. biologically, yes, i believe myself to be a human, im humanoid, i have one heart, two lungs, rib cages, so yes, i believe i am human.

as for the question i voted "i dont know". i really haven't acomplished much in my life, and i've always told myself that i'd start "living" once i move out of my mum's house (im 18), and i don't think that's entirely wrong, i certainly plan to make some great achievements in my life! and those are plans i intend to follow!

I bet you ... something.... that given enough time a dog could drive a car.
I will take that bet, sir, and direct you to the nearest Disney movie that stars a dog.
im not talking about a couple of years, im talking about hundred of years, besides dogs naturally hate me when they first see me, so im not going to train them.

The interesting thing is that all human advances have been brought forward not by vagueness but by the clarification thereof. By set and ordered rhetoric and coherent definitions. You asked such a slew of questions non-relevant to the original incomprehensible one that no, you did not ask a question. The muddling of defined lines and sheer mental masturbation are probably the two most counterproductive, counter progressive practices in existence. Sure there are no set lines of definition in reality, thats Exactly why it's so important that in communication that there are. The destruction of definition is not a way to go about understanding the human condition. I am irritated as you obviously did not understand the criticism in the original post.

I knew ecatly what the OP meant by the question and I answered no.

I don't expect anyone to understand why unless they themselves well, know what I mean.

Just a simple question to ponder as you go about your day. All I ask is that you stop and think about your answer before you give it. Rash or hasty answers can ultimately affect the "true" answer you otherwise are not aware of. Remember, this is asking whether or not you believe you are human, not physically a human being. I'm not asking if you think you're an alien.

If you answered Yes:
-Why? What makes you strongly believe that you are human? What makes you unique and worthy of the life that was given to you and had yet to be taken away? Do you value this life? Are you happy or content?

If you answered No:
-Did you fully understand the meaning behind the question? Why do you feel you are less than or more than human? What traits do you possess that warrants your existence over another, or vice versa? How do you view the world? Or do you wish to be something more?

If you Do not Know:
-Are you thinking to hard about the question? Do your emotions conflict with your morals? Do others live your life for you? Did you take the time to truly explore the meaning behind the question, or your answer? Do you feel dissatisfied or trapped?

Once again, this question is worded simply and is open to interpretation. Using what you have learned in your past years combined with your emotions and personal views, try to answer the sample questions offered under each category. Of course, you always have the option to forego these questions if you feel that you do not wish to answer them, you simply don't understand, or you do not have time to. However, I do hope that those who read this take the time to really question themselves about how their lives are currently running, and how they may or may not have truly lost themselves to the mechanized world of modern society.
An additional Question: Do you like chocolate Chip cookies?

If yes: Are you sure you understand the question? How does chocolate play a role in your life, and can it lead you to eternal damnation?

If No: Why not? Have you considered that perhaps you have no taste, or are just a brain in a jar programmed to hate life?

...

Seriously, this is silliest thing I've seen someone post in a long time. Not... dumb per se. But you ask a yes/no question, and then follow up with a bunch of contingent non-sequiters like they have anything to do with it.

What's the point? If you wanted to know people deep feelings on things like conciousness, or the definition of intelligent life vs computer life... well, I feel there are less woo-woo ways to do it.

Since human=human being
and I have the ability to produce offspring with other human beings
and therefore belong to the species homo sapiens sapiens
therefore I am human.
You definition of human is both vague, and does not seem to be answerable.

Nothing makes me unique or worthy of the life that was given to me; that has nothing to do with being human. I value my own life, yes, as if I did not, I would have slit my wrists years ago. I am content yes, but never truly happy or sad, as those are both subjective/relative terms, and therefore I cannot completely answer the question.

Yes. We are physically and mentally. I mean while we are different, that's what makes us the same human species.

Well everything that is of the species is human, it can be argued that all of the genus Homo as well is considered human. We are animals as all other beings but we distort our own perceptions, every single human is not as important as they think they are. We are not special, we are not wondrous, we are nothing out of the ordinary.

Now on to philosophy, I value life but only to a degree, some people can be considered far below even basic chemicals, they have no value and they have nothing to give to their species, they exist(ed) only to cause harm to us and those are the people who should not be fed, not be looked at, and should most certainly die. I am talking about those who commit the most heinous representations inhumanity, a word in itself kind of narcissistic if you think about it but the meaning fits.

I feel I am worthy of life because like the most of our species we try to make things better. I am happy mostly but in my short life i have seen the worst of humanity with little redeemable qualities but that is the loud annoying minority that wants attention, the rest of my species I can actually be proud of.

Yes, because I match the accepted definition of the word, "Human". There is really nothing else to say about it.

1) Are you saying that I'm an anthropoligist student? Because I can honestly say I've never studied antrhopology in depth (we've had some superficial classes on it in social studies, however).
No, no. I, myself, am an anthropolgy student. I was pretending to be one of the annoying people in that thing you were at.

i cant deny that im a pretentious, misanthropic prick; but i believe you misunderstand me on several points:

the 'average' human. by mere virtue of responding to my post with more than an internet meme or thoughtless insult, you have proven yourself above-average; however, socially backwards hicks, religious zealots, and generally people who act on ignorance probably make up a far larger percent of humanity than you might think. thats kind of the basic logic behind 'average' and 'rare', the most numerous is the most bland and basic, the less common the more complex; genetically we arent all that different from the cavemen we once were; so the majority are generally only above that in the cultural and technological differences since then; keep in mind i have a very cynical view of humanity to begin with; we're all dumb brutes in some way at some time (yes, even me); thats why the most popular things are generally those that have sex, violence and little else; it appeals to the unga bunga in all of us.

i might genuinely despise 70% of the people at my college, but i cant deny that anyone there not on a trust fund is leagues above the standard serious FOX news viewer. theyre ungrateful, frivolous pricks in my eyes, but many i would consider my relative intellectual equal. most escapists i would consider my equal (or above), whoever you happen to know in your reference is probably my equal (or above), but there are over 6 billion people we 'dont' know; 6 billion midwesterners, 3rd world peasants, elderly racists, inept business and political figures; sure, many of these really cant be blamed for a narrow, simplistic view of the world, but thats human society; alot of people (sadly mostly humans) get way more of the resources than they need, so alot of people (potentially overmen) get much less, and never have a chance to develop beyond simplistic perspectives.

its not so much 'im better than everyone', its more 'i pursue knowledge and expanded perspective far more fervidly than most of my social class', and with what very little i know about you, you probably do to. most escapists probably do. most of whoever you know probably do. most of humanity does not. most of humanity is content to live in ignorance in the face of a hundred opportunities to better themselves. some are content to live in ignorance who have no feasible opportunity to better themselves; they are not wasted lives out of choice, but out of simple necessity; they are tragic, the former is a disgrace.

but we're ultimately both speaking from narrow perspectives; i can tell you probably know alot more post-cavemen people than ive ever met, and that you were probably never surrounded by nearly as many FOX news supporters, obama is hitler-approvers, or drunken skinheads as me; especially in your own family, or those you once considered friends.

anyone with the patience to read all of this can probably realistically consider themselves equal to or better than me; too bad that in my experience, we'll never get along anyway.

so yeah, im a misanthropic, arrogant dick, but hopefully i at least seem understandably misanthropic, arrogant, and dickish now. im not comparing my intellect to einstein or newton, or claiming the philosophical prowess of Nietzsche and Machiavelli, or the literary genius of dickens and caroll; im saying i think its important to take after the work of such luminaries, and i pursue that philosophy; however, ive found that maybe (MAYBE) 2 people ive ever met share the idea that history and science are important and interesting to learn and actually act on it, lest we repeat it (which we do, alot).

wow, how ive over-explained myself. sorry internet; i just cant help it.
