If something is extremely popular, then there's a good chance that a noteworthy number of people would think that it is overhyped. I'm not a big CoD4 fan, but after playing it online I fully understood how other people could enjoy the leveling system with rewards for in-match accomplishments. Some people like that style of online gaming. I'm someone who prefers that everyone be on an even level and that in-match accomplishments should not be rewarded by giving the excelling players more things that will help them excel even more.MarkusAurelius9 said:I've had it on pre-order for 6 months, and am very psyched for it. I find it hard to understand why people would say MW is over-rated, when it is still in the top 10 for sales, 2 years after release.
My caln and I have all set up new accounts specifically for MW2 online, which now that i think about it, is a bit sad. Still see you online! AviT!!
The first game was more the British SAS vs. terrorists, the Americans just chased leads and got nuked.Vrex360 said:I fail to see any interesting things about it. It's another 'modern warfare' game featuring (presumably) Americans versus Country X. I'm sick of games like this, modern war set in real locations does not appeal to me, I prefer the realm of fantasy. So many of these contemporary war games feel so similar and interechangeable that I can safely say I will ignore Modern Warfare 2 completely and stick to my Gears of War 2 instead.
What praise did it undeservedly get exactly? The single player was short, gripping, and fun.Rajin Cajun said:I have to agree with that while I liked CoD4 it didn't deserve half the praise it got. I can't really say I'm that excited about MW2 the snowmobile part helped take away any enthusiasm I had it just looked fuckin' stupid.zee666 said:Cod4 was overrated and this will be the same.
Since no one has really called you on your bullshit I feel the need to. In MW2 you play as a member of Task Force 141, an international group created to hunt down Makarov, the new big bad. Next time please do a little research before talking.Vrex360 said:I fail to see any interesting things about it. It's another 'modern warfare' game featuring (presumably) Americans versus Country X. It didn't bring anything new to the franchise other then multiplayer perks that is it. Most of the features in CoD4 had been around a long time in CoD while it was fun it wasn't that innovative.MetallicaRulez0 said:What praise did it undeservedly get exactly? The multiplayer blows anything else out of the water, hands down. The only reason people don't like it is because Halo 3, TF2, and GoW2 exist. Those 3 games cater to totally different audiences, and CoD4 caters to yet another audience. It's the best semi-realistic multiplayer shooter since Counterstrike, I'm not sure anyone can argue against that fact.
To be fair, in MW 1, the American character you play is killed off halfway through and you play the rest of the game as a member of the S.A.S.Vrex360 said:I fail to see any interesting things about it. It's another 'modern warfare' game featuring (presumably) Americans versus Country X.
I know, I was being ironic.Thunderhorse31 said:The first game was more the British SAS vs. terrorists, the Americans just chased leads and got nuked.Vrex360 said:I fail to see any interesting things about it. And how interchangeable is the humans vs. alien bugs genre of gaming?
Yeah, you're right I kinda forgot about that....MA7743W said:To be fair, in MW 1, the American character you play is killed off halfway through and you play the rest of the game as a member of the S.A.S.Vrex360 said:I fail to see any interesting things about it. What do you mean reasearch, all I was saying is that I don't like Modern Warfare as a plot device, be it America, Brittan, Russia or anything it just doesn't appeal. How is that bullshit, yes I should have looked into it before posting I understand and apologise but seriously this post I made was to represent that I'm not really 'down' with modern warfare.Scolar Visari said:Since no one has really called you on your bullshit I feel the need to.
