Im a nice dood.

When I'm on SF:IV I usually let my friends win a couple matches if I start to win like 10 in a row.

And my girl usually gets pissed off if I beat her in SF:Alpha 3, which is the only time when winning is a mistake. :[

I'm too nice in reality but I make up for it with gaming of any kind. My friend was laughing when we played air hockey at a local theatre. I trash talked her the entire time :D

Well I didn't use to, then an ally did something nice for me (saved me or something like that) so I decided one good deed leads to another.

im nice to the enemy if they can prove to be useful, if they cant be however they deserve the same longsword up the bum that all the other useless players do

No, I'm just nice enough to lull my enemies into a false sense of security before crushing them mercilessly.

Well actually, I do give mercy. When I feel my opponent deserves it. But that has more to do with honor than being a pushover.

Oooh also on MMO's I used to wave to all the enemy, and if they waved back all good, if not I would kill them =P

Depends on my mood. Considering that 1/2 or more of my online play is Monster Hunter, helping newbs is helping yourself too. With action gaming, generally speaking, I kill everything unless I'm in a "free world" type game where there is no objective to be achieved, just to screw around with other players. Sometimes its fun to grief people, sometimes its fun to show each other tricks/glitches.

No. I'm not "too" nice when it comes to gaming. What the hell do I have against the players in the other faction? I've covered the retreat of more than one lower-leveled Horde player while I was out traveling.

Then again, I'm one of those freaks who wants the ability to learn other languages, and I'm pissed off that apparently the ability was abused at some point in the past...
You are not alone.
Though I no longer play WoW, so I guess the point is moot for me.
Same thing for me.

I can't even bring myself to insult Moira Brown, and she's earned it.

Yeah, yeah, I am.

It doesn't ruin anything for me though. It makes it better until someone decides to screw with me, and then I can ruin them if I like.

Perhaps. I try to help out people in games. Not just in multiplayer games either, I also try to keep NPCs alive. Call me a sucker, but at the end of the day I want to save the world and its people (even if they are just a bunch of 1s and 0s in my CPU).

I have a Jekyll and Hyde syndrome in games.

I'm always trying to help, I'm medic, priest, human shield. But then theres always ONE PERSON, who decides that hes going to take your help and still act like a prick.

Thats when all hell breaks loose, I kill everything, teamkill that one person and spawn camp like hell until they leave. But that only happens once in a blue moon.

I tend to find that higher levels in all games appreciate help more than newbies who think they can take a whole server on their own.

Yup. In a PvP MMO I always give the stranger the benefit of the doubt, and more often than not I get stabbed in the back for it.

I also tend to waste my valuable time doing nice things for n00bs.

In other games however, there is no room for niceness. In an FPS people are meat.

its a freakin video game.

I dont know why you cant be nice to people. why is that being considered a push-over, instead of just a nice person?

like why is there a negative connotation to being a good person?
has the world really devolved into such a narcissistic society?

I think I have a problem. I mean, I should see a therapist. You guys think you're too nice for being nice to real people? I can't be mean to PRETEND people in video games. Name any game that has a good ending and a bad ending, I've never seent he bad ending, because even if I make a conscious effort to go bad, I CAN'T. In KOTOR there was some kind of little slug man getting pushed around by a bunch of kids, I couldn't walk past that, I had to stop and remind the kids of good behaviour and get my lightsaber on if necessary.

Being nice to Alliance in WoW is the least of my problems.

Am I the only person who found Moira Brown adorably cute?

On topic:
I think people should be nicer to each other on MMOs I wonder if we took out the ability to see everyone else's experience level.
Would you be a jerk to someone if you weren't sure weather they were lvl 1 or lvl 100?

I myself am terminally nice but I play SL.... it means my niceness takes the form of giving newbies shiny new (and expensive) clothes
