Apologies if my questions are Stupid, but where I come from, wrestling is about as well-known as Camel Hockey. Anyway, my questions are: Is this the type of wrestling where the winner is predetermined, and the "match" is like a play, with more violence and worse acting. If so, what is the appeal?
Or is it like "Real Wrasslin'!" as in the Olympic sport?

There are no simplified types of "wrestling", but I'm mostly talking about "worked" Pro Wrestling. There are a number of appeals, depending on who you are. I watch for the action, mostly. Sometimes I like to do my own play by play commentary, and slow or replay specific parts to appreciate them better. I mostly use VLC or Winamp for this.
For the most part I do not watch the mainstream WWE product. It is lackluster, and watered down.
For you, I recommend going back through the thread and watching some of the youtube videos I have posted.
Super Crazy vs Tajiri, just a few posts above you in specific.
Naturally, there are sometimes comedy matches, such as with Les Kellett, Kikutaro, or Colt Cabana. These are usually quite funny. Some people like the more intense and competitive matches. I do, as well.
Mostly, as a fan and wrestler in training, I am here to try an undo most of the damage done by things such as the "WTF" episode of South Park, and all of the narrow minded, and frankly homophobic, little stand up comedy bits I've heard over the years.
Comedy based on ignorance is unacceptable to me.
Happy New Year
