Now, everyone here knows what I'm talking about. Assassin's Creed 1 is one of THOSE games. The games you either love or hate. The people who hate them can't understand what's to love about the game, and the people who love them can't understand why the people who hate it so much can't enjoy what's good about it.

So, let's put it to a poll. Was Assassin's Creed 1 a win, or a fail?

Personally, I loved the game. The plot was new an interesting, the free running was lots of fun, and assassinating someone and then having a harrowing chase from the guards was a whole new level of fun.

Problems included the awful combat, lots of really boring missions that were repetitive overall, and lots of times where you simply had to sit around listening to people talk.

But to me, the assassinations, plot, and free running made up for these flaws, making Assassin's Creed one of my favorite series' at the moment.

But what do you think? Opinions on the game, and explanations.

Assassins Creed 1 was more win than AssCreed 2

Both are fail. Way to fuck up a good game idea Ubisoft.

I loved it.

I found the game quite refreshing compared to everything else I played, and I enjoyed the majority of it.

I found Ac 1 to be one of the worst games of this generation. On the other hand, I find Ac 2 to be one of the best games of 2009.

Well I was in my mates room in Halls of Residence thinking about what to make for my 3D Apps project. Had to make a 2 room or 2 story building. I started Assassin's Creed on his PS3 and I was likin it. I then started thinking back to what I should do.. and then I figured I should do this building, can't remember the name of it now.

So I got a PC version of it and played up till I was in this building, and started making it. I didn't play any more of Assassin's Creed until I finished my semester, then I went and completed it. Yeah it was good, bit repetitive, but it deserved to be played after I spent time modelling a piece of it.

Compared the AC2 it's a bit of a fail, but it did pretty well by itself.

I love both games. They are both great in there own ways, but the first is slightly better overall.

I didn't love, but I didn't hate it either. The whole game was pretty good until it started repeating itself in every mission.

Do the same 5 missions, get info, go kill a dude. Wash and repeat 9 times and that was the game. While fun for a short while, it got stale real fast and I'd give it an average grade if I was a reviewer.

I thought AC1 was good, but it had so much potential and the game didn't give it justice. The core mechanics of the game were solid, but there was nothing to do outside the same old routine.

AC2 corrected this and added lots more to do and much more interesting missions. But for its time, AC1 was pretty good.

Assassin's Creed 1 was incredibly innovative in many ways, and also a fantastic game in it's own right. It showed you could have a game that takes place in a time period not many people are familiar with and still make an enthralling, immersive world. I loved pretty much every aspect of Assassin's Creed 1 (even the repitivity, believe it or not). It was one of my favorite games of 2007 (which is saying alot, considering ME1, CoD4, and others came out that year) and Assassin's Creed is one of my favorite game franchises. I'm eagerly anticipating AC: Brotherhood.

AC 1 was one of those good ideas that people needed to iron out the faults to make awesome. The mini-games were repetitive and the battles probably could have been done better. AC 2 really fixed a lot of problems. It actually feels like (to me) AC 1 was just the beta test of AC 2. The game didn't change; it only improved.

Can you elaborate?

Hmmm...That didn't come out right. Regarding AC 1, I didn't mean "worst" as in "OMG!! WORST GAME EVAR!!" I meant "worst" as in "Wow. What an utterly repetitive and boring game that is the definition of disappointing." And when I think about it, Assassin's Creed 2 is probably the most fun I've had with a game in a long time.
