A win for me. As Yahtzee said, "Give it a chance, but I can't blame you if you end up trying to fire it into the sun."

I liked the first one quite a lot. I liked the second one even more.

Assassin's Creed was a win in my book.

I thought it was really good, but it had drawbacks like the repetitive missions where you get advice.

If I close my eyes real tight and pretend that the whole "background" story doesn't exist... then Assassins Creed 1 was a rather pleasant game that I enjoyed. If I don't manage to do that, then I'll be hissing and spitting and burning it in a pile out back.

Assassin's Creed is not a love/hate game for me. I don't just love it, or plain hate it. I love a lot of the concepts and ideas but hated the implementation and mission design. I heard a lot of that was fixed in Assassin's Creed II which is why I purchased that game recently as well. The things I hated had been addressed.

Assassin's Creed 1 was a pretty cool game. I loved the setting and core mechanics, but it gets a bit stale after some time. Once you get over the thrill of assassinating people you what's underneath ; A better than average, yet flawed and glitchy game with lots of potential. Then I played Assassin's Creed II. I just knew AC II would screw it up even more. But wow...
This is how to make a sequel. They improved almost every aspect of the first game, and the amount of depth is just astounding.

Assassin's Creed 1 was, for me, an absolute 10/10 experience which I thoroughly enjoyed, the second instalment in the series simply improved and added to this.

Assassin's Creed has to be one of my favourite games of all time. I prefer the characters and settings/locations more than AC2's but AC2 was a great improvement gameplay wise.
I would love to see AC2's gamplay upgrades on AC1 and this would make AC1 the best game ever :D

The parts of a great game were there but they were put together all wrong, I did the first 8 missions and then turned the game off and traded it back in. That's right, I was mybe an hour away from finishing the game and didn't care to because I was so sick of it. It was like when I just stopped watching Gangs of New York 15 minutes before the end. I LOVED ACII but the first one was so repetative and the environments were so bland. I'm reall looking forward to Brotherhood, let's hope they fill it with even more "win" than the second one (which, again, was farcking orsome!).

I didn't like either, for me a sneaky type game should not be completable using only counter... with the occasional assassination (Or jumping on a guy with the hidden blade out).

At least the first one made you go through part of the game without the counter insta-kill...

Assassins Creed had alot of potential, getting information that wasn't neccasary but helped set up a sneaky assassination sounded great but in reality it was do the few side missions repeatedly then kill the guy by either spending 5-10 minutes making sure everything is set up to get to him and get out without being noticed OR spend about 20 seconds running up to them killing everyone with counter and stab the guy you need...

The graphics are really amazing. You can really tell that a lot of people laboured long and hard over the game.

I find it really boring though. Like, I was bored of a cutscene so went out to hang out my washing while it was playing but when I finished with that it was still playing. I then started to get nostalgic for the great time that I spent hanging out my washing. That boring.

AC1 was good for the first hour or two, but eventually you got to the point where you realize that you're just doing literally the same thing over and over again in three seperate but very similarly built locations. Not to mention that the story got wickedly philosophical and too far fetched for a game that, up until the ending, was pretty much basing itself on realism.

ACII fixed the gameplay, but if AC1's story was teetering on the edge of believability, then ACII's took flying leap through giant flaming hoops of crazy.

Ahem...in my opinion.
