Well I want it to be more modern for the story. What happened in the first game took place in the present and past, but most of the story could be found in the present. If the story progresses like time, that would mean more story would be revealed as the time went on. Also, did anyone ever translate the bits of writing in your room at the end of the game?orannis62 said:Agreed. The most I can see in that direction is Desmond getting his ancestors' abilities and escaping.Eldritch Warlord said:A big selling point of the first was that it was set in a time period relatively unexplored by video games. And not to be rude but I don't really see any benefit for a parkour beat-'em-up being set in a more modern setting.devildog1170 said:man, i always associate swords with medival, my History teacher would kill me. but im not talkin guns, like, early 1920s, and they would have to find some way in the story to exclude guns. i just think that a modern setting could help better than something old again.
I wouldn't say Mass Effect has a cliff hanger ending. Sure it obviously sets up for the sequel but it also has a very satisfying conclusion. Most cliff hanger endings do not have a satisfying conclusion.orannis62 said:I tend to cliffhangers too, but not AC's. Strange, it was really the only part of the game I disliked. I didn't like it because there was no resolution at all. An example of a good cliffhanger is in Mass Effect: you feel accomplishment from taking down Sovereign, and everyone's temporarily safe, but it's clear there's still more to do. AC just cut out in the middle.ZeroMachine said:The first one is one of my favorite games, so I can't wait for the second.
Oh... and I LOVE cliffhangers. So I also loved the end of this game. Seriously, why do so many people hate the anticipation a cliffhanger brings? We all knew they were most likely going to make another one, so it's not like we weren't going to find out.
I loved the original AC. The freedom to jump throughout a massive city was a great experience for me. I would spend hours running around doing nothing significant. Just jumping on roof tops and stabbing the occasional beggar.Bored Tomatoe said:I'm excited... I'm replaying AC one, and if you can look past its flaws, it is a really epic and immersive game.
those flags were the worst. and your right, even if you had the most detailed guide in the world it was still tedious and boring. i enjoyed the templars though, because they were loud and easy to find. and you got to fight themInternet Kraken said:I loved the original AC. However AC2 better not have those damn flags. Or it should at least make them easier to find. I have no idea how you could find them all. Even with a guide it would be a long and tedious process.
now the mass effect 2 trailer on the other hand...Internet Kraken said:I wouldn't say Mass Effect has a cliff hanger ending. Uuuhhhh....... how many threads are you going to make? I am excited about AC2 but seriously, every second thread is by you.balimuzz said:Is anyone getting excited for it, or did the first game kill any chances of hype for this one? It sounds cool, but then again, so did the first one. Details have finally started emerging as to your character, his abilities, the game structure, and setting, so I was hoping to find out if anyone is getting pumped for this one.
Well that's a teaser. It's supposed to make you want to buy the game to find out what the hell has happened.balimuzz said:now the mass effect 2 trailer on the other hand...Internet Kraken said:I wouldn't say Mass Effect has a cliff hanger ending.
