Ho venuto il gioco primo, e il secondo appare molto bene.

From what I've read in the GameInformer artical, the game looks pretty great. I'd give it a "yay".

man, i always associate swords with medival, my History teacher would kill me. but im not talkin guns, like, early 1920s, and they would have to find some way in the story to exclude guns. i just think that a modern setting could help better than something old again.
A big selling point of the first was that it was set in a time period relatively unexplored by video games. And not to be rude but I don't really see any benefit for a parkour beat-'em-up being set in a more modern setting.
Agreed. The most I can see in that direction is Desmond getting his ancestors' abilities and escaping.
Well I want it to be more modern for the story. What happened in the first game took place in the present and past, but most of the story could be found in the present. If the story progresses like time, that would mean more story would be revealed as the time went on. Also, did anyone ever translate the bits of writing in your room at the end of the game?

i give it an incredibly tentative "yay" because the developers have seemed to take note of the things that they did wrong with the first one. However, im still not going to get too excited for it, because i dont want to have my heart broken.

I'm excited... I'm replaying AC one, and if you can look past its flaws, it is a really epic and immersive game.

Oh... and I LOVE cliffhangers. So I also loved the end of this game. Seriously, why do so many people hate the anticipation a cliffhanger brings? We all knew they were most likely going to make another one, so it's not like we weren't going to find out.
I tend to cliffhangers too, but not AC's. Strange, it was really the only part of the game I disliked. I didn't like it because there was no resolution at all. An example of a good cliffhanger is in Mass Effect: you feel accomplishment from taking down Sovereign, and everyone's temporarily safe, but it's clear there's still more to do. AC just cut out in the middle.
I wouldn't say Mass Effect has a cliff hanger ending. Sure it obviously sets up for the sequel but it also has a very satisfying conclusion. Most cliff hanger endings do not have a satisfying conclusion.

I loved the original AC. The freedom to jump throughout a massive city was a great experience for me. I would spend hours running around doing nothing significant. Just jumping on roof tops and stabbing the occasional beggar.

However AC2 better not have those damn flags. Or it should at least make them easier to find. I have no idea how you could find them all. Even with a guide it would be a long and tedious process.

I'd press the HELLZ YEAH button if there was one. AC1 had its faults, but had enough good stuff to make up for it.

those flags were the worst. and your right, even if you had the most detailed guide in the world it was still tedious and boring. i enjoyed the templars though, because they were loud and easy to find. and you got to fight them

Is anyone getting excited for it, or did the first game kill any chances of hype for this one? It sounds cool, but then again, so did the first one. Details have finally started emerging as to your character, his abilities, the game structure, and setting, so I was hoping to find out if anyone is getting pumped for this one.
Uuuhhhh....... how many threads are you going to make? I am excited about AC2 but seriously, every second thread is by you.

I pray that they just improve over the small stuff and just do every beautiful thing they did in the first game. I don't know what anyone is talking about with the bad plot. It was amazing. It seemed spotty because you have to research every damn little thing in order to understand what is going on. Sure, it isn't handed to you like most games nowadays, but that's the beauty of it.

God be with you, Ubisoft.

Well that's a teaser. It's supposed to make you want to buy the game to find out what the hell has happened.

I really didnt like the first Assasins Creed, largely because stealth was rendered useless because you can take on as many guards as you want as long as you held down the "block" button and used parry. Also 2/3 of thee game was comprised of doing the same few tasks over and over and over, to the point that all the good bits were hidden behind a boring mask.

If #2 can correct these mistakes then Im on board, but until I see a little more Ill stay on the other side.

Ugh, why? The first game was terrible for anything other then running around. The story was worthless as well, it might have been better if the Sci-Fi nonsense was dropped... And the characters were actually likeable.
