I didn't get the first one.
I played it a few times and I don't understand what all the hate is about.
Repetitive missions, ending was more open than a fat persons mouth when he tries to eat a big mac, repetitive combat, you cant swim.

it seems like they've acknowledged the first one's problems and corrected them. I am thoroughly looking forward to it

Yay. They've improved on the first, took out the eavesdropping and pickpocket missions. We can swim, and they improved the combat. I enjoyed the first and I'm really looking forward to the sequel.

Looking forward to it, but not as much as Bioshock 2 or Mass Effect 2.... hmmmm some of the best games of 2007 return in 2009/2010....

and I'll be buying all of them simply because I need to see what happens.

I think it will be better then the first.
Becose they always had a plan of doing it.
Not just becose it sold good.

But I think the story will be less historically accurate :/
The landscape will be more so, as we have more info from that time :)

I always said that Assassin's Creed 2 was one of those games that really needed and deserved a sequel.

Assassin's Creed was at it's core a really really good game. The flaws were not in the concept but rather in the half-arsed execution. Some things didn't make sense and the missions were overall pretty repetitive, but the controls worked awesomely, the graphics were beautiful, the environment was great and the story was good enough. It was easy to point out the flaws and I can imagine it's rather easy for the developers to take note of and fix. Now that the second one promises to fix the repetition issues and add more weapons to make combat more interesting, we'll hopefully have a really good game instead of "just" a really good concept.

Besides, the setting couldn't be more awesome. Anybody who's been to Venice knows it's kick ass, can't wait to sneak around in it in AC ^^

There will be three games in all.

How about 'Ninjas Creed?' More stealth and flip out of the box stabby action! none of this chase after the guy, stab him and have a nice chat.

Yay, apart from the setting.

The first games setting just seemed so warm, and nice, as well as having an arabian aesthetic. Italy just seems...cold and sterile really.

The first one is one of my favorite games, so I can't wait for the second.

Oh... and I LOVE cliffhangers. So I also loved the end of this game. Seriously, why do so many people hate the anticipation a cliffhanger brings? We all knew they were most likely going to make another one, so it's not like we weren't going to find out.
I have a PC. I had Condemned 1. Thats why i hate cliffhangers.

The first one was such a big disappointment I don't know if I even wanna play this one, but if it gets good reviews I will probably pick it up.

Absolutely not, the first game was an utter failure in those eyes of mine. If they dare release another one, I shall be the one who will burn them all down.

THE YAY. Sorry about that, I got excited about this game because of the setting, having seen the terrific job they did on the cities in the last game just thinking about running around in Florence.... Venice and other cities of Italy makes me very excited. Also the Da Vinci connection is awesome and the character Ezio Auditore di Firenze seems very well made just like Altair, he fits in perfectly with the season and time. Let's just pray for a non-clifhanger ending....

the first one was nowhere near the hype. not even including all the glitches. it was just really repetitive.
