I think Ezio is cool. Just saying.

Anyways, more importantly there is plenty to explore with the tumultuous era of the renaissance and I guess this is why it's an AC 2.2 rather than 3. I rather like running around Italy anyhow.

My main concern is that they don't start trying to put more plot in it. The historical stuff works but I don't think anyone with half a brain or intact sanity would applaud the overall story of Assassin's Creed. Although if Desmond would kindly stab the annoying tech girl with the irritating voice next, I'd be most appreciative.

Sounds to me like this will not be AC3, but another one in the AC2 series instead.
Ubisoft is probably saving the AC3 title for the next protagonist.

Assassin's Creed (1) and AC Bloodlines: Altaïr
Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations: Ezio
Assassin's Creed 3: next...

One thing I do hope is that either the Desmond sections become more interesting, or that they're dropped.
"The 'because I say so' school of sequel numbering, also known as the resident evil method."

OT: I love Ezio! That said I am happy they've said this is his last installment, it is about time to get on with it a little. One more game and then he can retire in peace.

I don't want Ezio again...but it's not going to affect my purchase or anything.

I play AC for the gameplay and Desmond's story.

If they can work the 'old guy' angle properly I think they can still keep the character fresh. But I agree, they are stretching it with this.

I want Desmond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that or John Wilks Booth...lulz
Interesting side note: John Wilkes Booth is apparently killed by an Assassin in the AC timeline.
was he
I believe so, yes. Although I wasn't really concentrating at the time, so I may have misread. It's on the Assassins Creed wiki.

(And the Disney Death at the end, while entirely justified by the man's real death being that, is sickening. "You just butchered through hundreds upon hundreds of men, but it would be wrong to kill THIS man. So you must throw him off a ledge so as to not offend people)
He didn't throw him because he didn't want to offend anyone. Cesare pretty much whined how he will "not be killed by the hand of man", so Ezio obliged him and left him to "the hand of fate".

I have nothing against playing as Ezio (and Altair) again. At first, I too thought that they will strive to different time periods and different characters for each game, but then I thought about it and realized that absolutely nothing implied they would do something like that with the game. They changed the period and character once; that's not a valid reason to assume they'll do it for every new game. The point of AC is actually the story of Desmond. Desmond and the gang are exploring the assassins and periods they find important for the main story and I find it ridiculous that every single Desmond's ancestor had something to do with the big picture. Having two major important assassins in his ancestry is already kind of a stretch and I don't really see the need to mindlessly change the setting and characters just because we want to jump on different roofs every time. I like the fact that they will make up the most of the characters we already have (I'm especially happy that Altair is back), that the story has some integrity instead of jumping from character to character without much sense (besides the obligatory "But we have the machine which enables us to go to any time period ever!"... Well, yes, it does, but the game is not about exploring every time period ever (as much as I, or anyone else, would like it to be)), and I'm glad we won't have to get to know and train a new newbie assassin from scratch (I have a feeling that if they bring a new character, we'll have to start from the beginning again, learn how to become an assassin and yet again learn all the moves).

I am personally excited to see how Ezio and Altair(Excuse me for not having the accent) and see how they work together if at all.

I suppose the glory about the Assassins Creed franchise is that they can give it a really long life-span. We have over 2000 years of recorded history to play with and an infinity complex Templar conspiracy. Sticking with Ezio is therefore a little bit frustrating given all the other time periods out there. However, i guess the writing team have grown quite attached to the character and want to feature him in a final game. It's understandable- I like Ezio as a character.

Still, bet you any money that in Revelations, Ezio will impregnate a woman in order to ensure he leaves an ancestor behind (that's necessary for the plot) and then probably die somehow. Revelations may be predictable, but i hope they do a good job out of it. I have the confidence that they can deliver.

I want AC3, I don't really want another Brotherhood. Ezio is cool and all but he overstayed his welcome. I want to kill templars as Desmond.

I thought Brotherhood was one hell of an awesome game..

I have yet to play any of the other AC games, but i don't mind seeing more of Ezio Auditore..

Captcha: satisfy iplangi

Who is iplangi?
If you haven't played any other AC game/s then your word doesn't really count in this thread does it...?

Of course a character isn't going to seem repetitive if you've only played them once...
Then what about Lara Croft, Master Chief, Marcus Fenix, Kratos, Batman, Dante, Sam Fisher and Mario? Have they all become repetitive just because you've been a fan of their series? You can claim you dislike the character, but you can't deny that Ezio was far more human and original character compared to Altair.

I wish they would move on to new characters, hell, I wish they never even mention the whole plot about the world ending and what's not. Come on Ubi, give us new cities within another timeline to mess around with, with new characters, and newnewnewnewnewnewnew stuffies, guns, gunsword, swordgun, get it? :)

I am ready to move on from Ezio. But this isn't AC 3, right? Its another Brotherhood-style expansion.

So, I'm glad it isn't AC 3, but I wish they would make AC 3 and give us something fresh.

Even brotherhood was a bit too much really. All I wanted was a real ending for Ezio since Assassin Creed 2 didn't give him one, not a full game. All his character development was sort of complete after number 2, making brotherhood somewhat boring in terms of his character.
