Poll: Attack or Defense?

I'm always the one who goes for the flag, plants the bomb, captures the control point...etc, etc (or at least i'm always the one trying to)

in FPS I just pick a guy, possibly the guy with the highest score and trail him, trusting his obvious superiority
though for a RPG I always take as much Defense/HP/Armour as the game will give me
Mowing down everyone as a heavy in TF2 while defending the control point is definitely the best.
defense, always put your men on high ground and in a semi-circle to make the enemy come to you and tire themselves out, when they start attacking one flank of yours, move the other flank in a "horseshoe" for maximum casualties on their part. At least in Empire Total War and probably Napoleon Total War
Well for RTS i would use defence to build up my forces and then WHAM send everything in a suicide mission. RPG i use attack all the time, i can buy health but you can't buy a dead goblin (in oblivion at least). FPS's i use defence because it is much easier to defende a point that destroy it.
If it's any sort of mission/quest/goal is the single player campaign, then it's attack all the way. On the other hand, if it's co-op or online then I'll always stay back while the others get them selfs torn to sheads for the billionth time.
While I prefer defense, the real deciding factor for me is teamwork. Dying in a botched assault with no support is awful, but so is being the only guy defending a crucial point from a determined advance.

Defensive, deffinitely. Its a challenge to hold out whilst under constant assault and I kinda like it.
And even when on the offensive, I play like a turtle and make a main force whilst sending out powerful little strike teams. Its what I get for playing Eldar all the time in Dawn of War.

I am much better at defense. In any stratagy game i always defend my base as well as possible before i take out the enemy. History shows that in most situations the defenders has the greater advantage but WWII shows that the defenders have to be able to use their advantage.
