I'm surprised such an ordinary movie with pretty graphics got so much money.

It's like Crysis; just a tech demo.
It's like Halo; merely average.

In summary: People like pretty things that sparkle. Like crows or cats, except we think we're above that, but evidence proves otherwise.
It really is a combination of plot, effects, writing, and acting, that make people want to go see it. Crysis is actually a pretty good game, and so is Halo. Yes, they all don't have a strong storyline, but it's good enough.

Is the movie ordinary? Sure. Is it told in a new and interesting way. Damn right, and that's the only thing people care about.

I'm definetly surprised about it.

Apparently it was hyped as hell, and all the cool mainstream people wanted to see it.

Hell, I knew a guy who had only like seen ONE trailer for it, and then decided that he wanted to go to the midnight premiere of the film.

I must've missed the hype around it, because the only reason I saw it was because my little sister wanted someone to see it with, and I didn't have to pay anything for the ticket.

At least it wasn't a bad movie though. Still suprised though.

No, because there was a thread about this last week. I am totally indifferent towards the profits this film makes and honestly can't see why it's so popular.
