I think you misunderstand me, I'm talking about things such as serverside mods, like in team-fortress 2 with the instaspawn mods. They just ruin the superb pacing of the game and render winning as a particular side rather difficult (Read: Near impossible).lanoger said:A sure sign you're using the wrong sort of modsArcticflame said:The problem with some mods is that it ruins the game. It's fun for a week or so, but then you lose interest in it, and the original game seems slow again.
Most games I don't change from the vanilla/official patches/DLC, but if it's a good game with a good modding community that is suited to that sort of tinkering? I go for it. Sometimes even when it's not - I remember Morrowind and its stand-on-one-leg-and-lick-your-elbow load order magic. Those were the days.
The server browser is packed out with insta-spawn to the extent it's hard to find a good non-insta spawn server.
There are some mods which just ruin the game, insta-spawn on tf2 is one of them. Don't get me wrong, it can be really fun when you just feel like shooting stuff, but throw tactics and team based combat out of the window.
