The entire article is missing the point. A woman mistreated a cat, an entire bunch of anonymous people start harassing her.
That's what I call karma.

Why the heck is the article turning the ***** into the victim of this all?

I doubt they'll rage against the BBC, I seriously do. They can be incredibly misguided and low when they want to be, especially that Justin Bieber incident but this is taking on a global corporate media service.
I don't like the fear they sometimes emit when people speak out against them either but saying that, the cat "woman" had it coming and then some in my opinion as cruelty in any sense will never be acceptable.

What don't people get about "Don't Feed the Trolls"?

Shit, obviously they get a rise out of seeing people react to what they do, why the hell would you give them more publicity?

4chan are attempting to get the the google search for BBC to come up with "did you mean BBC genital warts". I can't see anyone at the BBC caring really.

You guys are ridiculous. Do you really think they have any power? If I was at BBC, I'd personally write an article whose headline read, "Fuck /b/ for Ruining /v/." I wouldn't have a job the next day, but it certainly wouldn't be because of goddamn /b/.

I like how people claim that they HACKED TIME's Influential Person in the World poll. It was an online poll. It was executed by using simple proxies to vote multiple times to influence the poll in whatever direction they wanted. Why did it work? Because no one else cared enough. /b/'s only real power is its size. It isn't strong enough to ruin lives of those who haven't already ruined their own.

Lurk /b/ for just a week and you'll see how pathetic they are.

What nearly everyone seems to be unaware of is that there are more Chans than just 4chan. Many of "Anonymous" come from SomethingAwful.com, as well as Ebaums World, and any one of the hundreds of other chans.

Really, there's more than 4 chan.
Here's a very incomplete list of Chans. [http://shii.org/2ch/]

4Chan's /b/ is just the most visible, most famous web location that individuals of "Anonymous" frequent.

420chan's /i/, or Invasion, specializes on taking requests for targets of cyber attacks, and was the motivating force behind the DDoS attack against Scientology, along with agitators from Ebaum's World. 4Chan just bandwagoned, but since it gets over 1,000,000 unique user visits per day, it's part of the attack got much much more attention.

Anonymous isn't some sort of organized group, all black-hat hacker elite just waiting for someone to come along and piss them off. And anonymous can be motivated to do good things as well.

The cases of Trey Burba, and "Wolfie," can be seen as proof that "anonymous" can be more than some unruly mob waging war on anyone who crosses them.

So really, the author of the BBC article is just rabble-rousing to try and get Anonymous to respond.

Uhh... why would this piss anyone off?

It's actually pretty accurate. It doesn't really bash 4chan or Anon.

Gah they mixed up Lolcats and furries D:
I noticed that too.

OT: Either 4chan//b/ will praise the BBC, they'll attack the BBC, or they'll praise AND attack the BBC.

u mad?

OT: Anonymous isn't a clandestine group with a clear agenda. Some /b/ users will rage and maybe try DDoS the BBC website, others will laugh and internet high-5s will flow, others will simply not care.

I bet the BBC are quaking in their boots...

No really, pissing off drug lords, Islamic militants, dictators, oppressive governments, violent far right groups, criminal organisations etc with investigative reporting and documentaries is nothing, but those guys on the Internet are some serious dudes...

This is why I hate Anonymous.

Seriously, you can't just enact vigilante justice on anyone who even dares to mention your name, it's ridiculous and childish and anyone ever involved in one of these types of raids deserves to be locked up under charges of harassment, vandalism and general disruption of public order.

There is no excuse for it, they are self-entitled dipshits, confident in their 'anonymity', who never learned how human beings are supposed to act towards each other, and they perpetrate every single one of the worst steroetypes of the internet user.

They are not only a blight upon the internet, but upon humanity, and none of their 'good' raids or 'heroic' actions can make up for their insanity.
