Thank you for posting that. I will be laughing at it all day!

I thought I had heard the worst voice acting ever... Then I watched your video. Nothing I have ever heard even comes close to being that bad.

Not that it put me off playing it for far too many hours, but the Beggar bug in oblivion always annoyed me. (old, haggard voice) "just one more coin an I can git a pair o' shoes...." *asks about the location* (rich, strong voice) "Why yes, I know the place well, what do you want to know about it?"

Which re had the bad voice acting? I've only played 4 and the va was great.

If you want some relatively poor va look at guild wars factions, the creators even said that they'd like to re-do it if they could.

I didn't play it myself but having to sit next to my brother while he played 'Battlestations: Pacific' was basically hell, I liked the look of the game, but the american commander's voice was more than I could bare.

I find the Sims voices annoying. Why couldn't they just make the speech into actual languages? That way I would know what to do and what they talk about of course.
Usually I turn off voices as I find it a bit rubbish to keep them on. They are no help at all.
At least in Sims 1 and 2 it sounded like it could be a real, natural language. In Sims 3 it just sounded like a bunch of American 20-somethings reading from a badly written script.

I've never really encountered voice acting I thought was terrible. ...until today when I went to that and checked out those "gems" you linked to that is.

Bad voice acting in my eyes is sort of a trade off. It hurts the immersion, but it helps the humor, especially when combined with bad detection AI, so I've never actually stopped playing a game because of the voice acting. I just have to adjust my standards a bit.

Two Worlds here. Couldn't get into it, the voice acting was awful. Really, really awful...

Also, not a voice acting so much as an editing issue, but I almost gave up on [PROTOTYPE] because they kept fading out on the last sentence of every cutscene.

For me, I actually had to stop playing Two Worlds because of its horrible voice acting and writing.
Took the words out of my mouth. All characters sound wooden and I would have more of a conversation if I was talking to a brick. If the game was good I would have probably carried on but this game was a fail so I say that I stopped because of the voice acting.

I was interested in Tales of Vesperia for the 360 until I heard the English dubs and my ears started bleeding. I ditched the idea of getting the game alltogether when I heard that the original Japanese dub wouldn't be in the 360 version, and I can't be arsed with waiting for the PS3 one. Shame, I still don't understand why they mutilated the 360 version like that.

First playthrough of Call of Duty 2 was an absolute horror. The voiceacting were hideous, though the game has grown on me so I don't mind it as much as I used to.

It's terrible, but to be fair the "actors" didn't have a good script to work with. I think a lot of the problems with games translated from Japanese to English is the very lazy, literal-minded translation rather than voice acting.

I haven't given up with a game because of a bad voice actor. Though the heretics and cultists in Dawn of War were incredibly annoying.

Morrowind and Oblivion both did the same thing; occasionally you'd walk next to two stock NPCs, and they'd say the same thing at the same time. The result is a really wonky stereo sound of the same phrase while you're talking to two people that apparently share a hive mind.

Well I was going to skip out on Naruto: Rise of a Ninja completely, but then I found out they had a Japanese voice track available to download off Xbox Live. Seriously, if you know how bad the English voices are for the show, imagine it somehow being worse for the game. My ears stopped bleeding once I got the Japanese up and running.

Altair's voice acting in Assassin's Creed totally took me out of the game the first time I played it. He spoke in such a monotonous, unemotional way that sounded so contrived with his attempts to speak in an archaic form, and he didn't pronounce his words clearly, so I couldn't understand a word he was saying. I get that he was supposed to be a serious assassin, but, instead, he just had no personality. They should have used Desmond's voice actor. He was great.

Or, for that matter, why couldn't Altair have a Middle Eastern accent like everyone else in the damn game? Their performances were excellent, and I could understand them all perfectly.

Even worse, the only good VA from the English dub, Quentin Flynn (Iruka), wasn't involved in the game, and the replacement was awful (as were the replacements for the Hokage and Konohamaru. Honestly, I never thought I'd miss the normal English dub VA for Konohamaru).
