Uhh, prep time and intelligence doesn't beat instant regeneration (Which is basically invincibility).

Wolverine had his skeleton torn out of his body and he lived. I'm going with him.

this is all assuming you have to be killed to be defeated. I think it depends on the situation if they are given prep time batman could trap wolverine.

Batman may be cooler, but Wolverine would kick his ass. A guy with an unbreakable skeleton and super strength who can heal all wounds? In a cage match or sudden encounter, Batman gets destroyed (I can't believe I wrote that).

That said, with preparation Batman could put up a hell of a fight.

gotta agree with this given a little prep time batman would likely just use a giant magnet or trap him in a room with walls and obv doors thicker than wolverines claws keeping him trapped.

Batman wins. He's fucking Batman. Physically they're even matches, both trained with ninjas. Neither one gives a shit about playing dirty in a fight.
Wolverine can't die or get tired, but he does feel pain. But both have huge limits on their pain thresholds. And batman doesn't kill anyone anyways so Wolverine's invincibility is a non-issue.
Batman is one of the smartest people in his universe, dozens of gadgets and plans to deal to hypothetical villains who may one day exist.

Batman throws a couple batarangs at wolverine. He dodges or knocks them away, batman keeps throwing them. Finally he hits Wolverine with one. Wolverine shrugs it off and realizes he doesnt even need to dodge them since they just cause minor flesh wounds. Batman throws an electrified batarang at him which knocks him out (because wolverine figured he didn't need to dodge them anymore, see mind games is how batman beats him), or at the very least causes wolverine to be briefly incapacitated. If batman has a split second jump on you the fight's already over.

Wolverine would win. Because he was as good as Batman, BEFORE the adamantine skeleton. Not to mention, Wolverine can heal. Batman can get owned by a few dogs.

Well, Wolverine, because he can't die, which sort of makes him the winner by default...

I'm pretty sure he died in the future, in one of the many, many, many tangled time travel plotlines the X-MEN have seen over their decades of existence.

I'm sure Batman would escape anyway, and then use a non lethal gadget.
And Wolverine is not truely invincible by any means... Ultra hard to kill, sure, but how about an exploding bullet through his eye into the brain? Even if the brain regenerates it cannot restore the information it once held, so he'd be like a newborn.

Well, if he managed to leave him floating in space, or in the sun, or marooned on the moon. A strong enough magnet should be pretty effective.

Really, as long as Wolverine cannot reach the restraints with his claws, simple cement shoes would hold Wolverine.

If Batman can artificially generate enough gravity, that beats Wolvie too.

I'm sure there are other traps that could kill him as fast as he could regenerate.

Batman with prep time is the same as Superman flies you into the sun, or time traveler de jour makes sure your parents never meet. It isn't fun or interesting, and may not be in the spirit of the question, but it is always there.



Hell, would it surprise anyone if Batman has some Black Mercy lying around? That could knock Wolverine out for a few centuries.

I've gotta go with Bats. Wolverine's tough (understatement of the century), but it's not like Batman hasn't taken down one or two tough opponents in his time. Hell, we're talking here about a man who has a contingency plan to take down the entire fucking JLA, that includes Superman and Martian Manhunter. Maybe he couldn't finish Wolverine off, but he could certainly find some way to subdue him.

Since we aren't talking a battle to the death this can only go to Batman. Wolverine being tough and well trained makes it a good fight, but Batman is smart enough to stay well out of claw range and definately smart enough to have a counter or two that immobilizes Wolvie...

Batman would be unable to win due to Wolverine being nigh unkillable. Infact one of few weapons that can kill wovlerine is a sword he wields (after goes to Japan learns samuri/ninja stuff etc...) Wolverine has a nearly unbreakable skeleton, has survived having it torn out by Magneto.

He did get killed in an alt universe by a sentinal (and building sized one with laser/particle cannons the size of a dump truck), though was only due it buring all his flesh away in a few second and heating his body up so much the admantinum started to melt and dissovle his brain.

Further more Wolverine is not stupid; he can lose control and frenzy (mostly in feral does post losing metal bones (though does get them back)) but is regarded as excellant tracker and has stealth skills on par with Batmans.


So unless Batman can build a sentinal (without nearly causing the end of world like last time someone built one).

Decapitiation (highlander stlye) could kill wolverine; though the admantinum bones prevent this (due to them being the stronger know metal)

Batman would not win in a fight, perhaps he could use money and brains to prevent a fight and get wolverine to leave town; but thats it.
