I was browsing bf3nation.com and I noticed a topic about BF3 being ported to console?

Being an all format gamer I am sure alot of the PC Gamers out there wont be happy about it going to consoles too.

I think its a bit 'selloutish' by DICE considering they have givin the consoles Bad Company 1 and 2.

Although I dont think DICE had much choice in this decision considering they have some sort of partnership with Microsoft (Correct me if I am wrong)

See image for proof

EDIT: After reading through many posts containing sentences such as "Whats the problem in sharing the game?" I must rectify what I meant.

It seems the majority of ported PC games these days have a tendancy to fail, *cough* Modern Warfare 2 *cough*. After having such amazing experiences throughout the awesomeness that is the Battlefield series (Not Bad Company, although that too is awesome) I just hope DICE dont fuck this one up. Im pretty sure it will be ported from PC to console, but I still have a gut feeling that something along the line will go wrong for PC gamers, and good ol' Battlefield will no longer be as good as it was 'back in the day' when it was made specifically for PC.

Coming from strictly PC gaming my entire life, it is sad to see that pc gaming is slowly dying out.

Just because a game is on consoles as well, it doesn't mean the PC version will suffer.

Yeah I think this was posted a while ago, but still. It sucks. Just look at the simplification of the Battlefield series with Bad Company 2. Consoles are so limiting. I wish devs still ported games from PC to console instead of the vice-versa situation we have now.

I'll probably still get it. I've been a Battlefield fan since BF:V got me into PC gaming to begin with.

Yeah, its old news.

I'd prefer it to be a PC exclusive, though im still pretty confident that it will turn out good, Bad Company was meant to be a smaller Battlefield experience, so I doubt that its the consoles fault for the game being more dumbed down. Besides, they gave us 32 players and dedicated servers on the PC version of BC2.

And no, they're not in a partnership with MS

Why would it matter that more people will get to enjoy a game? Your logic makes very little sense to me.

I really don't give a shit what console its on. So long as its coming out, I'm happy.

I have every console, and a beefy PC, so I'm good no matter what.

Sorry, I thought we were talking about Battlefrong 3. My fault.

*ahem* yes, I think it should be a PC exclusive. However I really, really hope it'll keep its 64 player battles and team commanders.

Thats where the PC-only battlefield games rise above their console brothers, with the Battlefield Commanders.

They're able to tell squads to attack certain areas, and organize the team better. Turning what could be a bunch of people randomly running around into a well-oiled machine.

I really hope they don't make it more like BC2, but instead more like Battlefield 2, or even 2142.

That's unfortunate, seeing as it means we can wave good bye to the scale and compexity in BF2/2142.
I quite like the Bad Company games, but they just don't have the same level of freedom, plus 32 players sucks.

I hope DICE gives us a pleasant surprise, I really do.

Fair point, but PC Gamers would like at least a few games to stay exclusive right? Weve already lost Crysis.. >:|

Modern Warfare 2.
I remember the days when map packs were free..

Also to support my point about Crysis, people on consoles will never be able to experience why Crysis was such a groundbreaking game.

^This. As long as they make a good version for the PC, I don't really care whether there's a console version, doesn't matter one bit for me. And what exactly do you mean by "they "gave" Bad Company to the consoles"? Doesn't really make much sense, BC2 is on the PC, the controls aren't shoddy like on a console port... just don't see where you're coming from.

On that note however, any juicy details about it? Like where it's set, how it works, etc? Been a long time since BF2 and I've been missing the franchise gravely :(

Oh, wa wa wa.

How dare people try and widen the market for their games.
And how dare filthy console players like myself dare to enjoy games knowing they're killing the PC!

And for the record, DICE are partnered with EA, not Microsoft. If they were partnered with Microsoft then not only could my brilliant idea to see a Halo game done by DICE work, but it wouldn't be coming out on PC.

As long as the PC version stays free of simplified controls and has dedicated servers and theres no decrease in visuals then it doesn't matter :p

That being said, I will most likely get the console version because when i play a console shooter i end up in first place if not the top 3. However when I play a pc version of a game I end up somewhere between 5th and 10th. And thats on good days :p

I think it should be ported, since then more people will enjoy it.
But i do hope this won't damage the games quality. I mean, i have no reason to think it will, but still...
I hope they don't do the console version first and then do a really bad port to the PC. If both sides get a good, quality game, then I'm happy.

Complexity? There is nothing complex about BF2 or 2142... Unless you're just referring to the scale of the maps? I would assume since this is a Battlefield proper game they're going to open them right up. Even if they don't, I'm sure the PC version will get all sorts of updates, expansions, mods, that console versions won't be getting...

I don't see why PC gamers would care about this game coming to consoles, except pure whiny fanboyism.

I personally have a PC that will be able to handle anything thrown at it for a while, but I'll probably get the 360 version just because that's where all my friends play.
