Why restrict it to a certain audience? It's selfish. It's the same as saying "Alan Wake is meant to be played from a couch with a big TV screen." You can't tell me those things, and if you do, fuck you and your fat wife. I'm all for diversity.
To address some other posts: Why do you think it would simplify the game if it's released on a console? Thinking back of BF42 it could've been ported to the consoles without taking out anything. You just need to mix up the controls a little and that's it. This is, of course, if console tech is on par with PC tech, which it wasn't back in the day.

I don't see why all the hate, if PCs are getting a shitty port of an xbox game, fair enough. But if they are developing it for the PC and releasing it on Ps3/Xbox as well, who really care? all it does is increase the audience of people who will play it. Noone is forcing anyone to get it on a console over a PC, so can't people just get it on the system of their preference?

Port that shit to Ps3 I reckon, may as well, makes the developers more cash off the paying public

So long as the game is ported from a version coded for PC to consoles, it'll be fine.

If they code for consoles first, then port to PC, it'll be terrible.

Coming from strictly PC gaming my entire life, it is sad to see that pc gaming is slowly dying out.
How exactly is it dying out? if anything it's becoming more popular through games like world of warcraft along with the decrease in price of computers that can run games at descent settings.

Those bastards, letting other people enjoy the game. Those sellouts, trying to market their game to broader audiences.

Have you seen Battlefield 1943 on consoles? Yeah, it's alright. So will Battlefield 3, and there is no way the PC version will suffer from its console counterpart.

Seriously, that's not very nice of you to complain about stuff like this. The controls for Battlefield have never been that complicated.

Modern Warfare 2.
I remember the days when map packs were free..

Also to support my point about Crysis, people on consoles will never be able to experience why Crysis was such a groundbreaking game.
it wouldn't have been groundbreaking if it had had the shakles of console limitations weighing it down.

Really? Bad Company 2, although it was meant to be a smaller game, took out so many things because it was also released on console. Prone? Nope, not enough buttons on a controller. Squads? Only 4 people now. Commander? That's impossible on consoles because console players lack teamwork skills, therefore we'll remove it!

Not to mention that when the game first came out, the controls were very sluggish and hit detection was all over the place. They patched it up all right, but still.

bloody PC whiners. its being ported FROM pc TOO consoles. that means that the CONSOLE versions will probably be worse than the PC version.

stop whining about losing an exclusive and act like the Gaming elites you think you are.

Bad Company 2 was released primarily for the consoles! Have you tried playing the PC port recently? It's the buggiest game I've played for years.

My example is about Battlefield 1943. I have not seen Battlefield Bad Company 2 on PC.

However:
1) Console players lacking teamwork skills did not stop MAG from being made. And that has gigantic squads and commanders.
2) Hit detection and sluggish controls - nothing to do with consoles, at all. If DICE did a shitty job at porting, that doesn't mean that they should focus on PC altogether.
3) Also, if prone is not possible on consoles, then why does every CoD game have it?

I love PC gaming, and I will go on record in saying that Mass Effect 2 for the PC is the way to play. Can't wait for Diablo III, Half Life 2e3..

However, I'd rarely play PC games otherwise. I'm a PS3 person. Wake me when any of the above comes out; I won't get those weeks back after they do.

in all fairness, competition in the market never hurts customers.
be careful people, monopolys are infuriating (HOW MUCH FOR AN IPOD!?, HOW MUCH FOR WINDOWS 7?!!)
its a plastic disk they sell to billions for $100+, you do the math.

Normally when games are released on PC and consoles we get the former rather than the latter. The game is made to run well on consoles then ported onto the PC. PC gamers then end up with a game that doesn't use their machines resources properly and runs terribly, which is what happened with BC2. For some players at least. Or in the case of Modern Warfare 2 the PC players end up with a poor peer to peer system instead of proper servers because it is that standard for consoles.

If the game manages to be well made on all platforms then I don't see why it should be an exclusive, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

I love how people slap the "IMO" on things, so you can't argue or be offended by it. Like up at the top, " PC gaming is by far the most superior, and fun. IMO.".

On topic. Wheres the problem? PC's are getting the game.

It's like your a selfish person, "only the PC's should get FPS games!". Theres also the business side of it, if you were making the game, wouldn't you want to make it as open as possible, so you would get the biggest return on your investment?

I was browsing bf3nation.com and I noticed a topic about BF3 being ported to console?

Being an all format gamer I am sure alot of the PC Gamers out there wont be happy about it going to consoles too.
I don't care. Neither should anyone else. Why should someone be mad if a game is also coming to other consoles? It makes no sense. All I care about is that the game is released properly on the system I use, and that happens to be PC. What happens with other consoles and their version of the game makes no difference to me. I honestly don't give a shit.

"I don't care" option is missing from the poll. It's not all black and white you know.

Modern Warfare 2.
Obviously there will be some cases where the PC version suffers, but have a little faith in Dice.
