I remember the days when map packs were free..

Also to support my point about Crysis, people on consoles will never be able to experience why Crysis was such a groundbreaking game.
i remember when map packs were known as "Patches"... how times have changed

After seeing how well cross platform publishing went for Bf:Bc2, my best advice would be to leave the whole series on the consoles, and not make a pc version at all :/

Battlefield 2 was on consoles also, as long as they still do the PC version properly, then I am fine with this.

It will still be good probably. I mean DICE has always released the best online FPS' out there. 2142, and Bad Company 1 and 2 being my favorites. Though I have never played BF 2, I doubt it will be terrible.

And no, they're not in a partnership with MS
Haha yeah, if they were partnered with MS they'd suddenly abandon PC altogether, while claiming that PC gaming is still important to them with every breath.

i think the genral problem with PC gaming is it costs so much just to keep up. However, i wouldnt like to see Pc gamers being left out, although i am a console gamer myself, although they sometimes annoy me with how whiney they seem to be, but obviously thats not all of them :)

So yeah i would like dice to give it to consoles and PC, would be cool if they could cross platform it, like shadow run did :D i liked that!

Seeing as how Battlefield got its start on PC exclusivity, your lucky you dont have a lynch mob coming after you for that comment.

Oh, wa wa wa.

How dare people try and widen the market for their games.
And how dare filthy console players like myself dare to enjoy games knowing they're killing the PC!
I'm right there with you.
Those of us that use consoles should feel ashamed for wanting to play a game designed for the mighty PC. Who are we to want to enjoy a new game? Why should we have fun on the same games the PC has? Us console users are a selfish people.

Elitism is for suckers.

Oh well. I mean Bad Company 2 still runs my online gaming life as a console gamer (until Halo:Reach) so I have no idea why they need another Battlefield game so early.

I'm glad Battlefield 3 is coming to the consoles. The Bad Company series, while good, is a step backwards. I just hope they don't dumb it down.

Bring on the 30 vs. 30 battles with commanders and fighter jets!!

I don't see why any game should be platform exclusive, it just seems like a way to artificially reduce your target audience.

Granted, it makes sense for RTS titles but with the availability of USB keyboards and mice not even that is sufficient reason anymore to be honest.

Sorry, maybe I'm misinterpreting this whole thing. So because I, like many people, cant afford a PC to game on, we don't deserve good games? It's not 'killing' the PC gaming industry, PC gaming's still incredibly popular. Depriving us console users of good games isn't 'saving' it, it's just a dick move.
Yes. You are misinterpreting it. Formally I suppose this would be a straw man. I don't mind consoles getting good games, but the fact of the matter is that games designed for consoles are different, and that difference is not what many PC gamers want.

If the game is designed primarily for PC, then ported, it probably won't make much difference- they can just make some lower rez textures, reduce team sizes, or limit map sizes. If it goes the other way, however, it probably will. They will then need to spend more money on the game to add things to make it more suitable for the PC crowd.

That is, of course, something they won't do, because they'll be spending money on stuff that will likely be cut for the majority of users.

That's why the PC people are getting pissed off.

Coming from strictly PC gaming my entire life, it is sad to see that pc gaming is slowly dying out.
Which it isn't.

Anyways, I don't care, if it comes out exclusively on the PS3, I've got one of those, if 360 only, I've soon got one of those too and if only PC exclusive, I have got one of those too.
DICE is only looking for the opportunity to earn more money, and since a good chunk of the game market is console gamers, they are probably going to launch them for the PS3 and 360 too. Deal with it.
