Poll: Battlefield 3- What should I do?

So, I pre-ordered BF3 for the console, since I normally play on the XBOX 360 and I have an 8 foot by 8 foot projector screen. But lately, I've been interested in the PC version. My computer has a quad core processor, 6GB of momory, 640GB on it's hard drive. The video is NVIDIA 9800GT.

That being said, if I do get BF3 on PC, I will have to wait 2 weeks to play it. But if I get it on console I can play it immediately. What should I do??

The reason I will have 2 wait for two weeks is because I am leaving for two months, and bringing my xbox. So if I get the game for xbox, I can play it then and there. If I get it on PC, I will have to wait until I get home to play it.

If you're PC can play it on High settings perfectly fine, get it on PC.

The only reason I'm doubtful about it is because I would have to wait two weeks to play it.... TWO WEEKS!! D: But if I'm able to play it on high settings like you said, maybe it's worth the wait.

I would say 360 but I don't know if the Origin EULA thing or whatever it was called has changed to not look through my computer and see how I use my programs. If they changed that, get it for the PC. I am getting it for the 360 for now, and maybe in a year, buying a computer that can run it.

PC, support the fact that DICE is actually not making it a console port this time man, you won't be limited to tiny battles, worse graphics and only a controller for controls... on PC it's shinier, bigger, and you can use a keyboard + mouse, or a controller or BOTH(if you're so inclined) I can only see downsides of the console version, since it's being dumbed down in the console version, rather than the other way around like so many other multiplatform games...


But yeah, take my word for it, I am the smartest man on earth and stuff y'know.

EA has 'fixed' their Origin EULA so the peeping tom portions of it have been amended, as for Origin being on your computer... if you play Mass Effect or Dragon Age you have Origin already.

I'm getting it on xbox because I prefer live and using a controller plus I doubt my computer would run it very well.I will however be disappointed that I can't see it at its best graphical and that I won't be able to get mods.

At any rate, I think you're going to run it on at least Medium settings pretty well, and the PC will undoubtedly offer the superior Battlefield experience. Why? The console versions will have a 24 player limit, which is even lower than in Bad Company 2, and the PC will be optimized for 64 players with the option to play with 128 players.

So if you want a proper Battlefield, go for the PC version. Yes, despite Origin. It's really not that bad nowadays.

Yeah, I know, I know, but you really dont want Origin on your PC.

*shrug* I ain't a fan of it either, but after the backlash they revised the EULA so that at the moment, it ain't that much worse as many other programs you probably already have on your computer. Just don't buy it digitally, as far as I know they can still dick you over with that.

Somehow I doubt that the console version will see jets. They'll have special, scaled down maps to be more balanced for 24 players after all.

I had a similar situation where my PC could run it and I could easily acquire a copy for one system or the other. In the end, I chose Xbox though, simply because more of my friends will be playing 360, and for me the only way to play Battlefield is with a whole boatload of friends to coordinate and screw around with.

Hmm, well you could try getting Bad Company 2 for cheap on your PC. The BF3 devs have explicitly stated that if you can run BC2, you can run BF3. Plus, I think that it's an awesome game that'll keep you busy for cheap until BF3 comes out.

Your last question though is very valid as well, but not one we can answer. I just hope for you and your friend's sake it's the PC version.

hate to say it but get the pc version. having been in the alpha i can honestly attest the game is fairly good and that is saying something especially once one plays an alpha version. the amount of content you will miss out on without 64 player servers is just to extreme. One word of advice though i would upgrade your gpu to at least a 560. the 9800 i had before and it was a great card however it has run it's course. you might get low settings on the pc with it at best.

Xbox is full of whinging brats who cry "HACKER!" when they get killed.

PC is full of the more mature gamers who have a more competitive side and generally have PC's that can run the game on max settings.
