Personally Call of Duty was my first love. The first two games in the series had more personality and were more fun than the wooden Battlefield 1942 and its expansions. However, starting with Battlefield 2, the scales starting tipping in favor of Battlefield. With the modern-gen games, I can't fathom why anyone would prefer Black Ops or Modern Warfare 2 over Bad Company 2, considering the latter has completely destructible environments, a large selection of vehicles, huge maps, and Rush is probably the best multiplayer mode ever created to date. Once I tried BFBC2 multiplayer I never looked back. All signs point to Battlefield 3 being absolutely amazing, while Call of Duty hasn't been interesting to me since the first Modern Warfare.

Ultimately, Battlefield wins out for me.

COD is a yawn for me. (played MW, MW2, BO) Too linear (only one way to do things right, or die). Its basically a movie. A long linear movie with no flexibility whatsoever.

Battlefield feel funnier in general. Move variety. The tone isnt as serious (i played BC2)and we can blow up the environment. The maps act more like strings of sausages (not always, often linear too plus some forced scripted sequence) so we encounter many choke points but in some maps we can take a few different strategies to reach the next.

BFBC 2 and pretty much every battlefield game(except vietnam)

More things to do, is far more flexible and tactical

Multiplayer - Battlefield.

However, singleplayer - Call Of Duty, by a long, long, long shot.

Overall... yeah, CoD's the one that fits me better.

There is probably not a game i have played more than COD: United Offensive..
Its not like modern COD games, cause you had vehicles and tanks.

So i also played alot of the following COD games, but as soon as i tried bad company 1, my prefered series has completely changed..

Battlefield games are in my mind superior to COD now..

Battlefield by far. Huge maps, lots of people (64 player coming back in BF3 = <3 ), vehicles and now with BC2 and in BF3, destructible terrain. Every aspect of Battlefield makes for a lot more interesting and dynamic gameplay where you're doing more than just constantly going toe to toe with other infantry within a small area (don't get me wrong, that's fun sometimes too, but BFBC2 has maps for that too, CoD on the other hand doesn't fulfill my Battlefield needs ^^).

If Battlefield ran at 60FPS and controlled like COD then Battlefield.... but the 'feel' of COD is just better to me, despite the gameplay irritations.

COD is the king of the campaign though.

I slightly prefer Vietnam to vanilla BC2. Medics can actually resurrect revive people right from the off, it's more atmospheric (first time I've seen atmosphere in a multiplayer game, actually), and you can play Ride of the Valkyries in a helicopter while shooting Vietcong to pieces with rockets.

Even if said helicopters are made out of paper and can literally be taken out by pistols sometimes...

COD for me. I enjoyed most of them (excluding Finest Hour, 3, and MW2) and I really didn't enjoy BFBC2's singleplayer at all. COD also just has more staying power when it comes to multiplayer for me too. I enjoyed BFBC2 online, but I only played it for a couple weeks, and that's when my friends were playing too.

A year ago i would have said Battlefield.
But after going back and playing BC2 and BF2, they arent very good games.

BC2 is so campy its ridiculous. Literally 9/10 players on the team are recon. it's so tedious to play BC2, spawn, sniped from across the map.

BC2 Nam is a lot better though.

CoD is a lot of fun, especially WaW online. There's fewer noob tactics (because rifle grenade are shit) so it's much less frustrating. Especially when the maps are so great, the weapons are well balanced and all the dicks just play the latest CoD game.

Sounds like an exaggeration from a frustrated player. I play BC2 several times a week and the teams with mostly recon rarely win on attack in Rush. Good teams have a mix of all classes. Also, the best way to counter recon snipers (especially when on the attack) is just laying 40mm smoke everywhere.

I Think he means the original Battlefield Vietnam, not the BC2 expansion, which had considerable balance issues, especially the M60 in that game.

I do like the BC2 Vietnam too, but I personally prefer the content in the regular BC2

while I really like the Battlefield games, I have yet to see one where the vehicles are fun. I do really enjoy the CoD franchise just because I have some good times with my friends playing those games.

I just picked up BC2 late last week for the first time, and oddly enough my reaction is the opposite of this. I think I much prefer the BF controls to COD. I feel like when I'm walking around in COD, it's so smooth that I'm practically on rails. BF I can FEEL the terrain. Plus the whole destructible environment thing is just stupid-awesome. No more a-hole camping snipers poking his head out the window for long... 'coz I'm just going to blow that whole wall up!

Well I mostly stick to SP since the spraying MP are not my thing.

CoD is becoming increasingly schizophrenic, the story jumps from 50 years past to 50 years future in random order, you jump from body to body with no reason other then to watch yourself die(now you are a prisoner, now you are a soldier, now you are an elephant, now you are an astronaut, now you are a terrorist, now you are a fly,... ), the missions are just a nonstop onslaught of people running from every direction all the time, and all explosion make your camera wobble so it's like having an annoying sibling hitting you in the head while you try to play the damn game, ... I end up being completely confused and annoyed.

Bad Company 2 on the other hand still kicks it old school, people hide in their cover and try to shoot you, you have a consistent team of people who go from mission to mission, and the story is coherent, it does lack the gameplay polish CoD games always excelled at, but it is fun and well packaged, therefor wins my vote.

I go with CoD because I can play online with friends and Zombies is damn fun. I love BC2, though, but no one I know plays it online so yeah, it's not as fun
