Why not both? They both have their strong points. CoD is just a pure fun unrealistic game, whereas Battlefield requires a lot more strategy but can ultimately be just as fun. It just depends on what I feel like playing.

Sorry but not really a good question. Bad Company is more or less a Battlefield spinoff meant to emulate CoD style gameplay. It retains a little of the orginial BF but not much. The actual BF games - 1942, 2, and upcoming 3, are generally quite a bit different.

Anyway, I'm a Battlefield guy.

Call of duty. It's much easier to get used to, the campaign is better, and it generally doesn't require a shit ton of tactics to accomplish anything.

Battlefield series all the way. My two favorite shooters are Battlefield 2142 and Bad Company 2.

At the moment it's Call of Duty because I've just decided to go and play BFBC2 online and it looks like they've wiped all my stats/unlocks. Yes I may have not been on it in months, but Call of Duty 4 didn't ever wipe my stats.

I've only played the BFBC2 demo, but if the retail game is anything like that, I'd hate it. I can't stand vehicular combat in shooters, and the controls are sluggish as hell compared to Call of Duty. Something about the arcade-feel and ridiculous pace of Call of Duty just keeps me hooked. Most say CoD requires very little skill, but I say the opposite is true. Because of the break-neck speed that it plays out at, you have to be at the top of your game constantly or you'll die horribly. Particularly in the CoD game that's actually fair and balanced, CoD4.

I just picked up BC2 late last week for the first time, and oddly enough my reaction is the opposite of this. I think I much prefer the BF controls to COD. I feel like when I'm walking around in COD, it's so smooth that I'm practically on rails. BF I can FEEL the terrain. Plus the whole destructible environment thing is just stupid-awesome. No more a-hole camping snipers poking his head out the window for long... 'coz I'm just going to blow that whole wall up!
Yeah it's an awesome game. Sometimes if I'm in the mood I enjoy the control scheme a lot... the sound in Bad COmpany 2 is amazing too.

Couldn't find any games last night though :(

Call of Duty - Battlefield felt too clunky to me. Probably doesn't help that when I rented it EVERY SINGLE TIME I played online my team and I got SMASHED but oh well =P.
I know it was just a sting of horribly bad luck but a couple hours of spawn then die from vehicle really put a bad taste in my mouth.

Cod for small games for my mates, Battlefield (and associated mods) for big online games. Ultimately, I like tanks better than RC cars.

YES! The sound is farking incredible in BC2, and one of my biggest complaints with Black Ops.

You probably couldn't find any games last night because BC2 seems to be more for adults than the run-and-gun ACTIONACTIONACTION of CoD, and most adults were probably with their girlfriends.

In short: Battlefield.
I really, really liked Cod 1+2, but Battlefield was always more my thing(a more tactical aproach, less Deathmatch/CS/Quake type gameplay and maps).
Loved it since 1942.
But only until and including 2142.
Because Bad Company is, well....... it's really BAD!

Hope BF 3 gets better than that and not another stupid MW-clone(that a retarded monkey with fast reflexes could play well...)

I enjoy them both actually. While similar settings, they play very differently. So it's largely dependent on the mood I am in at the moment.

Otherwise I think they more or less stack up evenly with each other, expect Bad Company 2's audio blow Call of Duty out of the water. The audio ducking effect caused by a nearby explosion never gets old.

I vastly prefer the Battlefield series, but that's on the merits of Battlefield 2, and has zero to do wit BC and BC2.

I agree that BC2 is a more advanced game than the CoD series, seeing as how Frostbite allows for destructible buildings etc., however, the gameplay in BC never felt right to me at all, and I prefer the upgrade systems in CoD to those in BC.

I can't wait for Battlefield 3, when the series goes back to its roots.

Battlefield and I haven't even played it. The devil I dont know simply has to be better than the one I know in this case.

= a ton of noobs and kids playing who don't want to have to work as a team....

To me, CoD multiplayer is good in theory, but a team that's actually talking to each other will win almost every time, and that's rare unless it's all people you know.

I love Battlefield 2. All the fun ways to kill your enemies just make it superior to CoD in my eyes. Not to mention the vehicles!
