It's the only one of the consoles I'm actually looking at buying (Xbox and playstation will probably have better games overall, but take out things better played on PC, which I'll have this go, and most of what I'm interested is Nintendo). So that its at least on it is a plus. And I understand Nintendo was the last resort for funding, so it being an exclusive means it'll exist at all.

I'm indifferent.

I don't have a Wii U yet, but i'll probably get one eventually. Basically I don't buy a system until there are 5 exclusives on it that I genuinely want to play. So far,

1. Bayonetta 2
2. The Wonderful 101
3. Shim Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem

C'mon! Two more guys! You had enough for me to get a 3DS!

Hell, I'll take it down to four if one of those games is a Metroid or Kirby game.:) And I'll make it 10 if the Metroid game is done by Team Ninja

personally i didnt like the first so much so im indifferent about that. but i dont get why people were moaning about it being an exclusive, isnt the ONLY reason the we are getting a second one because Nintendo is funding it when no one else would? might aswell complain about the exclusivity of God Of War or Halo (although i bet over studios would fund those to get them on the other console)

It's not really my kind of genre, so it doesen't bother me much. Definitely not enough to buy a WiiU

Nope, exclusives are never good.
But since Nintendo is paying they get the say in that and they made it abundantly clear they do not share, ever, well not that the others are any more generous then that.

Personally I find the game too spazzy to play properly so more of it I don't care for, but I would be quite miffed if someone locked my favorite game to another platform.

Short answer? No.

I'm glad Bayonetta 2 exists, I just find it depressing it has to appear exclusively on the Wii U to do so. As much as I want to play the game, there's no way I'd buy a console just to play it, as there's really no other reason I'd buy a Wii U. As such, regardless of how much I like a game/series, it's not enough to justify me buying a whole new console just to play it.

I just fear only being on the Wii U, it probably isn't going to sell very well. The Wii U gets very little attention as it is (even less so I imagine come 2014 when we are into the next-gen proper) so I'm not sure how a fairly niche title like Bayonetta 2 will do in that environment.

Whatever, chances are we'll all have forgotten about this discussion by the time 2014 rolls round and we're all busy with our PS4s and Xbones too I suppose, if you're into that sort of thing.

Indifferent. I'm one of the (apparently) few who feels disgusted by playing Bayonetta, so the sequel wouldn't be anything for me anyways.

sort of indifferent now.

I don't like that is is exclusive.
However, it's existence was paid for by Nintendo... So I suppose it is fair.

I probably won't be getting a WiiU anytime soon, but if I find myself with a large excess of money for some reason, a WiiU and bayonetta 2 will be on my list.

I am glad it exists
But I will not buy it until I at least have the possibility to play the first, Frankly I don't care if get to play it on my WiiU or my PC as long as I don't have to buy a new console to do it.
And I'm guessing I'm not the only one who feels this way

Personally I'm indifferent. I had some fun with Bayonetta, but not enough that I'm super broken up about not being able to play the sequel. My only question at this point is how is it going to be playable on that godawful monstrosity of a controller? I'm assuming most people will just use the pro controller, because this is the exact kind of game that has no use for the pad.
The Gamepad is actually a pretty damn good controller. I reckon it is more comfortable than both the Xbox 360 and PS3 pad.
I have used the WiiU pad, and lets just say I could not disagree with you more and leave it at that.

I'm glad Bayonetta 2 exists but I'm indifferent to it's exclusivity. On one hand I'm glad that Nintendo has got a popular non-Nintendo franchise in it's clutches but on the other hand I actually wanted to see what Bayonetta 2 was like, and I'll be damned if I can adapt to actually liking the Wii U's awful, awful controller.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I had a pleasant experience with the Wii U game pad. Nice to hold, and pretty comfy. Could be a problem with people with sweaty hands though. The smooth surface can easily become slippery.

While I'm personally indifferent to Bayonetta 2's exclusivity, I always stand for developers doing what they want. If Platinum Games needed to make that exclusivity deal in order to work on Bayonetta 2 (and all accounts point to that being true), then more power to them. It may not be the wisest move, but it is what the company wants to do and I wouldn't want it to be any other way.

...well crap I'm gonna have a hard time with my Wii U then. Curse my hands for easily getting sweaty! >.<
Maybe I'll put on gloves or something. >.<

OT: Really the common misconception I see people have when it comes to Bayonetta 2 is that people think that Platinum games had actually planned to make a sequel to it. They didn't, but Nintendo contracted them to do a sequel for them. Reason SEGA didn't isn't because SEGA is evil like I see some people say, but because their contract with Platinum Games was over and while the first Bayonetta was a fun niche title, it didn't make SEGA much money and the other three other games, Vanquish, Mad World, and Anarchy Reigns, put SEGA at a lose so they didn't want to lose more money then they already had done so. I don't mention Infinite Space because that managed to do pretty good for SEGA and Bayonetta did to a degree, but the last three games just weren't that good.

Now I'm getting my Wii U in the mail tomorrow, but I don't know if I'll honestly be getting this game because I've still not played the first one.

Bayonetta 1 is still on my 'have to get some time' list. And I'm not at all a fan of action games like that. It sucks that 2 is wii exclusive, but oh well... It would be false entitlement to demand it on the other consoles as well, imo.

It's not a sequel in the sense that it's continuing on with the story of the first game. But more or less a next adventure for Bayonetta and Jeanne.
Of course right after the first Bayonetta, they were indeed working on the second game. This is where the funding fiasco comes in. Bayonetta...didn't sell all that hot.
I don't know why people are calling SEGA evil on this. They are having financial woes at the moment, and the ACM/Gearbox fiasco hasn't helped them an iota. So clearly, they couldn't publish, yet alone fund this game. Especially when the first one hardly raked in the cash.
Sony and Microsoft probably had no financial troubles like SEGA did, but due to the fact that Bayonetta at a business standpoint was a failure, they weren't going to put their money into the game. This went on with Platnium for a while with different publishers until finally Nintendo came in and funded the game. However as a trade in- it had to be an exclusive to the Wii U.

If anything, based on the gameplay trailer I saw, I don't think you should worry about continuity. They seem to be separate enough in story that you can play and enjoy both in whatever order, but for me personally this is one of those games you want in your library at the start. Lest they become rare(as Platinum games tend to be like Okami.)

People tend to call a company evil if they won't fund certain things really. I mean I can understand why SEGA didn't put it forward, they really couldn't afford to and didn't wanna take a risk, and that's understandable. Most people however view it that SEGA never even wanted to take a chance on it, which for certain we don't know since they really didn't have the funds to do the game back when it was first announced.

Really for me the Wii U is gonna be a secondary console so I don't plan on getting many games, mainly just first party Nintendo games. Mainly it'll be a Wii 2 for me since my Wii has the region coding broken on it via softmod disc (old Freeloader discs that used to work on Gamecubes as well) so then I can play 2 of my imports. As a result I was locked out of being able to play some of the later Wii games (believe me the imports make it worth it, I love the Unlimited Cruise games). So now I can actually get some of the online games from the eShop, and play some of my Wii games that I really want to play. (Sonic Colors binge, here I come)

Also, thanks for the friend request.

I also don't get the whole "SEGA is evil" attitude going on. Platinum Games have a 4 game deal with Sega and none of the games sold well. Bayonetta sold 1 million which seems good, but when you factor in that Sega had to pay a different company to port the PS3 version due to Platinum Games not knowing how to make PS3 games(which for a Japanese company is weird) SEGA lost money on that deal.

Its not that Bayonetta 2's funding was dropped by SEGA, its that the deal was fulfilled and SEGA took their business elsewhere. I also wouldn't say that SEGA's doing that badly financially considering they've just bought Relic off of THQ and have been seeing rises in profit for the past few years.

I noticed it more back when people were talking about SEGA Sammy possibly buying Atlus, as people were saying how "bad SEGA was" in both the thread that was in the Gaming Discussion, and on the news story itself. People were mainly saying how SEGA didn't even give them a chance, and back when Bayonetta 2 was first announced as a Wii U exclusive I heard the same cries.

But yeah SEGA and SEGA Sammy, it's holding company and the one who actually wants to buy Atlus, have come into some really big wads of cash lately. Mainly SEGA Sammy's stocks rose to about 416% a couple of weeks ago.
