Not only does this game look awesome, but i will play it for hours at full blast, laughing at anyone who calls it weird. Since this game comes from Japan, and their culture differs from ours, of course you will think it is weird, and guess what, games should be more weird like this, then they will be more fun to play.

Japs actually think this is cool?
like i said, it comes from japan, so what they like will be different from what we may like.

also, i will be quoting moviebob here, "assassin's creed is just a ninja game placed in the the middle east"

and assassin's creed 2 will be another nija game (japanese related) but set in Italy.

Bayonetta was recently released in Japan and met great sales and reception, including a perfect score from Famitsu. But would we like it here in the west. It is incredibly strange and over the top. Take, for example this trailer. I really advise you to fully watch it.

Now I don't know what to make of that. Apparently it's a great hack n slasher, but that is just so f***ing weird. I've also heard that you hear that music during the entire game.

So what do you think? Do you think you'll be able to enjoy Bayonetta even though it's the strangest sh*t to come out of Japan since Rapelay?
I downloaded the video from xbox live awhile back... It is now sitting on my xbox so I can show friends because we laugh so hard at how fail the game looks...

No im not going to get it... ever...

uhmm well I mean come on yeah the style and theme is weird and the over the top sex appeal is repulsive, but it still looks like it might be worth playing. I'll definitely rent it, but I dooubt I'll buy it.

The game is a hack-and-slash that has "bullet time" and sex as it's main selling points.

Great to you that like it (or dislike it, for that matter) but to say that this is shit purely because it's Japanese... that's being a bigot.

Too Japanese, what the hell's that supposed to mean, TOO Japanese? Gameplay-wise (what I've seen of it), I'm reminded of God of War; the cutscenes could of been done by any company that wishes to, and the general idea seems familiar to the countless Middle Age games we get nowadays.

Wait something that's light-hearted and funny; we can't have that quick paint it brown and replace the music with explosions and yelling soldiers...

Honestly this game is looking great.

Too japanese? The main character is a western looking woman with a brittish accent. How is that japanese?

Oh fuck yes, I will SO be getting this game! Looks like the best dance sequence since the opening of FFX-2, only Bayonetta is even hotter than Yuna!
I agree with you except for the Yuna part. She might be if she loses the glasses and lets her hair down (like the nerdy girl from every 80's movie) but until then I maintain Yuna is the hotter of the 2.
Take the glasses OFF and let the hair DOWN?! Clearly you don't understand the appeal of the "Hot Librarian" [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HotLibrarian] fetish.

Well, I had lost faith in this game when the main selling point was the character gets more nude the better you do, but... what on earth was that? I think I just died a little.

Or rather, Japanity Ensues.

(Not to imply the Japanese aren't human, just more 'comfortable' with blatant sexualisation in bizarre ways.

Why the glasses? Surely that woman would have contact lenses?

Damn, Sarah Palin can dance and... do things with something called 'Joy', a chain and a horse.

I don't know if I'll get this. Good review scores so I suppose that it plays good, maybe?

I imported a PS3 copy just last week. I'm only up to chapter 4. Sure it's a bit weird, but also alot of fun.

My main gripe isn't about the weirdness or music. It is about how one moment you'll have full motion video cutscenes, and the next minute it's all still frame (apart from Bayonetta's ribbon in her hair moving).

Naw that's fine.

Fits with the main character from whom (I believe..) is a over the top sorceress, from whom fights like a dancer... with pistols.

You wanna see bad?
