There's a petition going on about porting SEGA games to PC.

Petitioning SEGA: Increase the number of releases for the PC (Bayonetta, Vanquish, Virtua Fighter 5, etc.)
https://www.change.org/petitions/sega-increase-the-number-of-pc-releases-segapcports

I would love love to get Bayonetta and Vanquish for PC. And irregardless of the effectiveness of this petition, I think it's at least worth a try - especially after the PC port of Metal Gear Rising.

News article from Kotaku about this:
http://kotaku.com/petition-we-want-more-sega-games-like-bayonetta-on-1508032169

(Disclaimer: Poll might be biased.)

These losers can't even localize their own games in fucking 2014.Even indie games can do that now.
I would love it,but there is no change for PC ports.

Metal Gear Rising was done independent of Sega, though.

I point this out partially because additionally, Bayonetta was perhaps Platinum's most successful game and Sega cared about it so little that they wouldn't even fund a sequel. Also because internet petitions generally have no effect, especially on bigger publishers. And the one time it did work, the backlash because of the lackluster PC port that resulted was probably enough to put off Japanese developers really looking into doing it again anyway.

Can we stop with all of the silly petitions that will never get anywhere yet? No? All right, I'll just go back to being a party pooper. Maybe I'll start a petition to stop all of the internet petitions.

Just keep in mind you're dealing with a company here that doesn't even bother to localize their most wanted stuff, expecting PC ports from them (especially their older stuff) may be a bit of a pipe dream to be quite honest.

A PC port of Bayonetta, Anarchy Reigns and Vanquish would be pretty rad though, I can especially imagine Vanquish being kickass with mouse aim.

Captcha: time machine. hmpf, will gladly take one to a future that has a localized Yakuza 5 in it >.>

I like all those games but ports would be pointless whos going to buy them? the handful of people who are interested but didnt have a console the few die hard fans who want it again on another system?

Actually Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown may be a good shout if they port it and bring decent netcode at least the fans would be able to gather in one place to play it since the 360 and PS3 will be phased out now. Its pointless porting Bayonetta and Vanquish though better to wait a few years at least or maybe port Bayonetta if and when the second game is released for WiiU when the interest is likely to be at the highest, which probably wont be that high which is a shame as Platinum make some of the best action games in existence.

My guess is these games will never see ports and financially speaking I think thats a sound idea even if that saddens me.

Trying won't hurt.
Also, what are you talking about? The poor Dark Souls PC port received backlash, yes, but Dark Souls 2 will still be released for PC. Besides, the Metal Gear Rising PC port by Platinum Games was well done and presumably laid some groundwork for other potential ports.

I'm not trying to fool myself, I rate the likelihood of this happening as fairly low. But I have enough hope to at least give it a try and spread the word.
If everyone just gives up without even trying, naturally nothing would ever get accomplished; a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Until someone with a fully developed frontal lobe is in charge of SEGA it probably won't happen. Still, I'm signing that petition because I'm a positive and hopeful person.

I love these type of petitions, they don't really go anywhere and the opening letters are hyped and ass kissing to hell.

It sounds like there's only a handful of players who didn't bother to get them back when they were released on their respective platforms and.

Imagine if Bayonetta were ported, what's to stop the begging and whining for 2?, I know they'd whine for 2 because they have 1 and we know nintendo has more of a stake in it for 2 than Sega anyway so that won't ever happen.

I also saw a petition for all the Metal gear titles to be ported to PC using the new Fox engine, I never laughed so hard at people who have the balls to ask for a lot (regardless of throwing money it's still asking a lot).

I already own most of Platinum's games so I'm not interested. I'd vote no but that's not an option.

I wish that was still against the rules, I have no idea why they got rid of it.

It doesn't make much business sense.
PC audiences and Japanese games tend not to play nice with each other.
There's also piracy matters, and the fact that the PC gaming scene is a small fraction of the market.

I'd vote for anything that promises Valkyria Chronicles localizations or even new games for the series.

Would have said in before the Console Defense Force, but they already showed up. Keep up the great work defenders, your crusades shall be rewarded by your corporate Overlords, of this I sure.

On Topic: I would sign, not that I would b*u*y them, played Bayonetta on PS3, was a horrid bore, but others may want to buy them. Besides watching the console exclusives pool continue to drain makes the League of Console Defenders cry, and that, is a good thing.

Aww isn't that just adorable, even after I explained to you last time you still think I'm a console only plebian who's somehow devoted to a few corporations.

Really I know your game by now and it's cute how you've automatically labeled and attached me to your made up name (exactly like when people against ninty fans called them NDF as a piss take).

You really shouldn't bother quoting me in the future because I know why you do and know you won't be getting anywhere with the likes of me (stalking even for that matter as you do because you've quoted me on purpose with intent already).

Last time I checked I didn't hear console only's crying, they're too busy playing their games while enjoying new releases.

How do you figure they'll be phased out just because it appears on PC? You may want to look into how there wasn't a mass exodus to PC when Street Fighter and King of Fighters got on PC. Most people play on the platform that the competitive scene plays on, which isn't PC.
No I mean it will be phased out because the PS3 and 360 are being phased out while the PC offers a more constant state of permanency. I agree players still playing will be playing on the platform that offers the most competition but its the end of that console cycle yes they will be around for a bit but its the beginning of the end for them as more and more players move to the new offerings. With PC the landscape is more stable in that regards and so wont prematurely cut the competitive life of that game short just because the platforms it was on no longer get any games and so arent used by most people.

I am actually quite interested to see how console sales of Ultra Street Fighter do on consoles and PC I am tempted to get the PC version myself for that game this time although I will probably get the console one first and then migrate over if I still feel like playing further down the line although the console versions are released first so I expect them to get the lions share of sales especially as these types of games traditionally do better on consoles anyway.

As for KoFXIII it is my understanding those that want to play it online generally moved to the PC version as it has better netcode apparently. As for offline like in tournaments and stuff it seems to be mostly consoles still, probably easier to transport and setup and local offline I dont think anyone cares what system they play on.

Getting Bayonetta on PC especially would be fantastic so I'm going to petition this as well.

Although there are very slim chances this will actually happen but one can hope so we can finally play one of the best spectacle fighters out there.

I was actually totally surprised when MGR was released on Steam, because I'd never expected a port of that. But it gave me hope for more PC ports.

Also this:

"Let?s also not forget that PlatinumGames wants to bring its titles on the PC. Back in September 2012, PlatinumGames? executive director, Atsushi Inaba, stated that he would be interested in bringing some of their games on the PC."
