If you want a game that will blow you away, get Bioshock. If you want a game with fantastic singleplayer and multiplayer (as well as a good multiplayer community), then get The Orange Box. Also, I'll give Oblivion an honorable mention. I clocked over 100 hours into the console version and still love it.

Oblivion is definitely great but it's not an 18 rated game.

Which is why I'm assuming it only gets an honourable mention. I'm still surprised that it got a 15, even after I spent a while firing arrows into people's faces, stealing their clothes and positioning them on seats as if they were asleep.

So far for me in this generation of games it would be"No more Heroes" though at times I want to just onto the fights and not brother collecting trash. But overall I love the games unique art style and storylines I mean some of the of the characters offer a much more adult mindset into the world. They are not just evil for the sake of it but some have general remorse for there life as well makes them more human.

Actually, it got an M rating in the U.S., and I guess I incorrectly assumed that the rating was relatively the same elsewhere. I gave it an honorable mention since I think that Bioshock is the best single-player game in this generation, at least on the 360, which it seemed that the thread-starter was referring to having, though Oblivion is still very good. (That was a terribly huge sentence)

I want your opinion on which is the best 18 rated game ever made. Don't ask why, just tell me.

***EDIT***
I dont hate retro fans, but etro games don't count. And if you want to know why i want to know which is the best 18 rated game ever then let me explain. Just don't laugh because if you do youre a prick. See, my father said that at christmas i could get any 18 rated game i wanted. (Im 13, as you can tell from the crappy username). So i just didn't want to get a game and someone suddenly says it's bad. k?
I can't name a decent 18 rated game this past two years. Take any game, kid, 18 rated is not something to be proud of.

Also n64 is retro? I feel old now =(

Well..... It looks awesome, but in the trailers it says stuff like "Violence, sexual themes" etc.

Understand?

You must not have looked very hard.

As for the topic, why aren't any Shin Megami Tensei games on that list?

Im just a little confused that your dad is willing to buy you an 18 rated game, hell while he's at it why not a stack of bongo films and a pack of smokes.

Why not just get a decent game why be so focused on it being an 18, that dosnt make it good.

GTA4 isn't bad, but it doesn't really "grip" you, if you know what I mean. I would regularly put it down and forget to pick it up for a week/two weeks/a month/what have you, and that was before I finished the "amazing story", which isn't as good as some people claim, so make sure you don't set your hopes too high.

Dead Rising is stupid fun, but it is really fun. The story is okay only because it's a nod to how Romero stories tend to go down. Still, there's a lot of enjoyment to be had here, but once you've gotten the true ending, the replay value can kinda dry up.

Gears of War is six hours long, and they're a few months from putting out the sequel. It also has no story, completely unlikable characters, and the worst color palette ever. That said, I love the gameplay. I'd still wait for the sequel though, if you're going to go this route.

Do not get Ninja Gaiden 2. It's bad. It's very extremely bad.

I liked Bioshock a lot. The story is great for the first two thirds of the game, and passable for the ending. The gameplay is fun and rewarding, and telekinesis is a blast to play with. It'll keep you busy for a little over ten hours on your first playthrough, and it's engaging from start to finish. Overall this gets my vote.

Of the games on the list however GTA:SA is probably the most enjoyable.
